Your dream rig

Since this is my 5th rig, I've pretty much zeroed in on my must-haves, but high on a dream rig list now would be automatic levelers. They are so expensive to add. As I get older (no comments, Sharon)I want more and more automated goodies. I've already changed out the satellite dish to an auto search one, and the awning to a push button one (best decision ever). Flitter is only 26' but has tons of storage space, a slide out pantry, and even a large trunk with built-in shelves and hooks that would hold a bicycle or two!

What I don't like - that GODAWFUL long tail overhang!!!

Also, remember the heat is coming from the ceiling and heat rises - which means that it won't get your feet warm lol - and your electric bill - if you're paying the electric will really go up. It's good for cool temps (pretty much above 40-45) when you have the electric included in your cost, though - but can damage your compressor if used at lower temps). There are lots of heaters now that you wouldn't have to worry so much about around youngsters - and they can be trained to be careful, also.

Thanks, I have a celling fan in the main room (9'? ceiling ) to help move the air around and electric is covered as part of my annual maintenance fee. The main unit is ducted which helps the distribution. The 2nd unit in the Master Bedroom is a heat-pump and it has worked well for us. Many times in the spring and fall the temps fall into the 50's at night. It was odd for us to camp right up to the snow this year. Got home at 5pm and it started snowing at 6pm

3) a bed that has its head at the back of MH (would make it so I could make my own bed!)

1) a big battery bank that can be charged from at least two (preferably four) kinds of sources.
2) four-wheel drive, or at least Detroit Lockers on the axles.
3) oh, dear, now I break into a bunch of things I can't prioritize! a) head room and open interior, b) easy to drive and park, c) decent gas mileage, e) lots of windows, f) efficient cooling system.

Some of those desires are inherently contradictory, I fear, but there it is. Everything else I could retrofit as needed, I think. I'll be clearer on that in a year. After all, Ivy's full name is Interim Vehicle.

Although I like the dining table with chairs, we have the dinette, which has tons of space in the slide out drawers underneath. I've been to RV shows since we bought our 31 foot Sunseeker, and for the price and what is inside and out, ours is a keeper.

I'm with you Irmi I'm really satisfied with mine...is there stuff I might want yes but it has what I looked for top of the list was blank wall space
for pictures of the kids...got that I wanted a table (as some one put it over sized and I much prefer tables anywhere!! when we first started looking for a 5th wheel we were going to get the year before this one it had a queen bed with a storage/bedside table on one side so wanted that ...instead when we said hay that is the one we want do to what was going down the line we ended up with a king bed and bed side table wish I had the queen bed still.. and have to agree its a pain in the tush to light the pilot light when DH was here it was comical I'd push in the knob and he'd light...gotten pretty good at doing it myself...even if you can do it all in the microwave/convection oven I think I'd still want the oven when not in use stuff does ride in it...

A cutout under a cabinet with holders for dog dishes - that can be accessed easily for the dog to have water.

There were certain things I thought I just had to have when I was shopping for mine....but now I'm not so sure.

I wanted an oven but now I realize it isn't an oven like we know one to be. I bought a pizza stone but still everything burns in it so maybe the microwave/convection would be better.

I do have to have the double sink which I have and lots of storage.... which I also have... but you have to be a contortionist to get to some of the outside storage when the slides are out, Also, I would like easier access to the sewer hose area. That too takes some effort to get into.

I thought I had to have bunk beds. Absolutely not unless you have your smaller grandchildren staying with you a lot. Mine are close to 6' so the bunk beds are only used for storage, which I don't really need because usually it is just me traveling in it.

I, too, have never used either my outside shower or my entertainment unit and probably never will and like some of the others, I do not want to hear music coming from others' units.

I would have liked better lighting options. Recessed and indirect would have been nicer that the ugly fixtures most have.

And they put the electrical outlets in the worst places. I don't like the cords hanging down. I would have preferred more outlets and placed lower in the walls.

If there has to be carpet ....I can't understand why they use the lowest grade possible. It is hard to clean. Maybe a berber or short pile would look better and be easier to care for. I would rather have no carpet at all. I think they use it on the slides so that if they have to get in there, it is easier to pull the carpet back over it rather than replace wood or tile.
