So glad it is over. I just wonder, did they tell you anything about preventing stones from forming? I always google alternative methods to treat health problems and find a lot of helpful information that doctors don't always know to tell you. I was giving one of my dogs an expensive med from the vet to keep his PH in balance as a high PH can cause stones. Well, I Googled alternative treatment for preventing kidney stones in dogs and found vitamin C will do the same thing with of course no side effects. I had to have his PH checked a couple of times and the vet was surprised at how fast it worked. We got the dose adjusted and he now gets 1/2 of Ester C 500 Milligram, the kind humans take every day. I figure if there are alternatives that work for animals there are ones that work for humans! Diet apparently is very important in prevention. I hope you feel better really soon!!

I've had trouble with nausea whenever they have put me under too and now I tell them beforehand about that. They have a shot they can give you for that and when you wake up, you don't feel the effects of it at all.

Sue, that is good to know. I too, get really sick from anesthesia, so will ask about that the next time I have to go "under the knife".

Judy, drink lots of water and sleep lots! You will be back on the road in no time!

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Sometimes I think it's better when you're allowed to rest and not have somebody hovering over you all the time, like when you're in the hospital and they wake you every hour to see if you're sleeping.

I think many people tend to think of most procedures as "not as serious as surgery" and think they should bounce back rapidly. Any procedure is an assault on your body; so pamper yourself, sleep as much as you want and let your body catch up. Feel better!

Just had a breakfast sandwich and the nausea seems to be gone. Almost time for another vicodin and then I'll go back in bed again. I've been sleeping for an hour, up for half an hour, and back down sleeping for an hour all night, except when I got up a couple of hours ago. Sure feels good to pass out.

Still have bladder pain which must be from the stent. Need to call and set up doctor appointment before I hit the bed again, as that was part of my instructions.

And yes, when I am not feeling well, I just want to be alone and crawl into bed. Don't like to worry about people being around and fussing.

Judy glad you are recovering now. soon it will all be behind you.
My husband had stones and they did the Lithotripsy. They also analyzed the residue and found that there was a link to his drinking so much iced tea and orange juice. We had orange trees and he made juice every day along with many gallons of sun tea… they can tell you what to avoid so the stones are not as likely to form.

Glad your nausea is gone and I hope you continue to feel better. One thing we acquired in our same Tiogas is a good mattress on the bed. My daughter loves to visit me in my RV as I insist she sleep in my bed and she claims she sleeps longer and better in it than she does at home. Could be because she has two teenagers and she is just escaping but I agree you and I got comfortable mattresses with our rigs so stay in bed and rest so you can have a quick recovery. Glad it is over for you.

Feeling better, but still bladder pain. I have found if I sit quietly and not move around, the pain goes away. I assume it is due to the stent moving around when I do.

I did have my stones tested a long time ago. They are mostly calcium which is why I never took any calcium supplements and stayed away from a lot of cheese in the past. I still get stones, but hopefully this reduces how often.

These things run in families. I had known my paternal grandmother died of some sort of kidney problems in the 30s at the age of 43. Then I found out her father had died just before her birth of the same thing at the age of 45. Nice that they can at least do things about them these days, so I am very thankful. One of my sons also has had a kidney stone.
