I spent most of the day in the hospital. By the time they got me prepped and had the procedure to blast my kidney stones and finally in the recovery room it was almost seven hours. I cannot take the usual sedative they give you, so I think they must have really given me a general anesthetic because I have not been that nauseous in a very long time. Since my son has taught in this small city for 15 years, he kept bumping into ex-students and parents he knew, which was strange to big-city me.
My son brought me home and stayed with me a while, but then I sent him home. I had some pills for nausea and that helped, but I could not eat anything. Been in and out of bed since then, dozing off and trying to read and then waking up.
Anyway, it is over for a few years I hope. I have a lot of bladder pain but it seems to be a tiny bit better than 6 hours ago, so I am going to try to be positive. Not a fun day, but done with at least. Having some soup now. Thanks for everyone's good wishes.
