Today I was strolling along a strip mall that only had two stores left - one on each end. As I glanced in the windows of the 4 empty stores in between them, I noticed that each had a section of the cement floor torn up and was just dirt. Behind one store's window was a weed growing in the dirt! It was about 15" high and covered with pretty purple flowers. Now think about that for a minute. It had no water, it was definitely out of its environment, alone, unattended, but not only did it struggle to live, but it flowered!
I thought that was a pretty good life lesson. How often do we feel out of our element, our environment, our comfort zone, and feel alone, perhaps unable to cope, un-nourished. That weed sends a life lesson about tenacity.
Okay, enough of the philosophy.
