Gtg in Louisiana, Nov. 21-22

Let's get together!

Gtg in Louisiana, Nov. 21-22

Postby Liz » Thu Oct 31, 2013 8:10 pm

I will be heading west through LA around November 21-25 range. Would love to meet up with any members in the area. If you'd like to gtg, let me know and suggest a cg where we can meet. I'll be coming I-10. There's a possibility Nan may venture that far with me too, before she has to turn back to FL.

Edit: Nan and I will be at Frenchmens Wilderness cg, Nov. 21-22. Dinner out at Crawfish Town on the 22nd. Looking forward to seeing all who can make it.

Sounds great but I think I will be a few days behind you. Those LA folks may have multiple visitors this year. I hope they don't get tired of showing us all the good places to eat! :o I am planning on leaving Ohio as soon as my November 11th project is completed. The absolute deadline is November 22. I will take that gas money and head towards Huntsville. I also will have a tub of pottery to drop off with a step-cousin in Birmingham..... See you somewhere in TX for sure! Should we warn Karen W that we are coming! :)

Yes, all you TX people. I should hit Livingston Thanksgiving week, then heading for the Hill Country.

My driveway is always available for stopovers with 30A and water for when y'all come though, ya know. If you decide to stop closer to Martha and Carolyn, then we could possibly drive over for a day, depending on what's going on around here.

Liz, I think some of the other LA ladies are at another group's rally/gtg out of state, so it may take them a while to respond.

Carolyn and I are at an RVW rally in Biloxi. We also have a trip to Texas planned for Nov 9 thru 18. As far as I know we will be home Nov 21 -25. Since Carolyn is taking off for a week to go to Texas I don't know that she would be able to take off any more from work. I don't think she has her computer with her so she will answer you later.

There is a campground in Bute LaRose just South of I-10 called Frenchman's Wilderness. It has gravel sites and a lot of trees. If you really want to be in the boonies there is a new state park near me South of Abbeville. That's where Vickie and Ronnie stayed this summer. There is a KOA in Lafayette that is a typical KOA and a resort type place that is pretty pricy. And there's Betty's in Abbeville which you have probably read about.

Keep us posted on when you will be thru and what type of campground you would like.

I might be able to stop and say HI! Or spend the night. We will be heading from Houston to Red Bay, AL to have Tiffin finish the stuff they messed up on RED when we were there in July. Then down to FL. The plan is to leave Houston 21st or 22nd going east on 10 then north on either 55 or 59. We have to be in Red Bay by Sunday night. Butte LaRosa is about 250 miles from us and would be a perfect first leg!

Tentatively planning my route. It looks like I can be at Frenchman's Wilderness cg for 2 nights, Nov. 21 and 22. Will that work for any or all of you? If you can't get away to camp there, perhaps we can meet for a meal somewhere? Let me know and I will make reservations.

I will only be able to meet after 5:30 pm because of "work".

You are welcome to stay in my driveway at the house I have for sale (it is across the street from where I am living now). I have 50 amp, 110 receptacle and water.

Thank you Carolyn, but I have made reservations at Frenchmens Wilderness. I hope to be ble to connect with Chris to hand off the kayak. Perhaps we can meet for dinner one of those evenings if you are up to it after "work!"
