Took a drive in the jeep up highway 40 - it goes to Durango eventually through the mountains. Will not be taking it in the motorhome. Watched a semi coming down stop and back up so another semi going up could pass him. I THINK NOT. Any way we were in the tiny town of Copala, it used to be a mining town gold, silver and copper. Now it is less than 600 people and mostly makes its living from tourists. The cruise ships take there people up there. Narrow cobblestone streets wind up the hill to the plaza with the magnificent church. The carved stone on the fronts of the churches is something to be admired forever. And the bougainvillias huge. Houses are many colors and have old, old, tile roofs. Bought a carving of the town from the young man who does them. Had lunch at the only employeer in town - Daniels Restaurant. Banana Cream Pie for dessert. It was a great day. Will write about it on my blog later. The pictures are again at http://www.movingon1.com/Copala there are lots of them hard trying to figure out which ones to publish. Hope you enjoy our day there.
To answer a few questions - Nope haven't been to Senor Frogs - not our kind of place.
Yes we've been to San Miguel Allende a couple of years ago and it is on our list for this year when we start towards home. Loved it. Except - too many Americans there. Bought the best bread there just outside of town at a little country fair. YUM
From Copala we drove down mountain to town of Concordia where they make some of the most beautiful hand carved wood furniture. Also a pretty church there too built 1765
When the pictures come up click on first one and they enlarge http://www.movingon1.com/Concordia hope you enjoy them
