Made my first solo trip

Postby Lesmusic1 » Wed Oct 30, 2013 8:31 pm

Just got home after my 3 week solo trip.....Started off real bad but ended out to be a wonderful trip...

First day on the road...my daughter and her friends decided on their own mom needed to be escorted through a pass. Well thank god they did....just before pass a blew one tire and popped another tire on my passenger rear side. Got a tow truck to change the tires, only had one spare and it was in bad shape so they followed me to next exit where there was a Les Schawb, thank god! then i spent my first night in their parking lot. That next morning after tires were replaced i see I have a major oil leak so....off to a mechanic to get it fixed....Well everything work out fine, thank god I had my daughter with me through all that and I made it to my destination 1 day later then planned but had a great time camping with my daughter and friends in north California..Yreka....for alittle more then 2 weeks.

I first thought after my problems this solo trip stuff was for the birds...but now I think idf I made it through that, I can make it alone again. So here is to all of us women Rv ers.....

Congratulations! Some days are better than others, but all days are adventures. You proved you can do this.

Hope you had all tires checked for age and condition while you were at tire dealer. Tires are expensive, but they are really important to our safety.

Sorry for the difficult start, but it is a good thing you discovered your bad guys and got them taken care of. I'm glad the Tripp overall was great. Good job.

My recent tire episode was frightening and expensive and it did rattle my confidence but no one was hurt and I can't fear what didn't happen. You have the right attitude. You had a few blips but you also had a lot of fun. Cheers to you!

Good for you! If you can make it through that "start," you can make it anytime/anywhere! Not much different than sitting in your home & having the furnace go out, or the plumbing leak etc! Our "homes on wheels" need upkeep too! ;) Happy travels! 8-)

There is something for getting some of the big upsets out of the way in the beginning....so many of the smaller inconveniences will seem insignificant next to tire blowouts and those what ifs? Happy and safe travels from here. :)
