Yosemite Snow

Those of you who saw Beth's great pics in her blog from our one-day trip to Yosemite just 8 days ago will notice the big difference in this webcam pic from Glacier Point taken this morning. Hard to believe we were there in sandals and short sleeves just last week! It's that time of year.

Yup. And I am camped just below Glacier point. Brrrrr! Got to go out to get some Internet on laptop. Can use phone but just barely. Will have to dig out other shoes and layer jackets as I am not prepared for winter. Is up to whopping 35 right now and glacier point road is still closed

It's absolutely gorgeous. But am so glad I spent the day there in the warmth last week.

That said, Judy, dress warm and go play in the slush and snow. It's only for a couple days ... and it's stunning. Find those shoes and jackets!

Found a pair of loafers and put thin socks on in them, then put long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, and my super-duper L.L. Bean rain coat with a hood, so I was OK to go out.

This did make me realize I need to buy a hat and pair of gloves of some sort, plus some of those thin pull-on rubbers! Glad at least I came in with a full tank of propane. It sure goes fast in this weather. I have a lightweight and medium-weight down comforter tucked under my bed, and only needed the lightweight one. Nice that I planned that way, at least.

Still very cold but the sun occasionally does peek through. They just opened the Wawohna (SP?) road and I am hoping Glacier Point road opens tomorrow so I can take a bus tour. Will not know until morning. At least I got some internet access at the hotel and downloaded papers to work on.

Here's what it looked like yesterday morning:

Great pics Judy. Are you in Lower Pines or Upper Pines?

The scenery takes on a whole new perspective when covered in snow.
