Weds. and the Weather is Changing...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Weds. and the Weather is Changing...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 4:28 am

Good morning, all...Well, guess 4am is the normal wake up time....I can live with that... :)

Weather is finally changing here to fall....for the next week the highs are to be in the low to mid 70s with over night temps. in the 50s......Ernie will say he's cold, but I love this time of year and spring, too...because of the mild temps.... ;)

The head cold is getting better...and even got to move back from the recliner to the bed last night.... ;)

Not much else happening here...so will stop, put the coffee and the orange/cranberry muffins out for ya'll...

Have a great day, all....

I'm up early from a dratted cold too. It won't let me stay horizontal too long. Good thing I get to take naps! :D Nothing exciting today; just more sleep and some vitamin C.

I'll be going to bed soon. OT didn't happen tonight as the trucks didn't show up to be unloaded and stocked. Maybe tomorrow ... we shall see.

Funny how temps at night here are cooler than you (upper 40's) but daytime temps are in the lower 80's still. I love it. Great sleeping weather when I go to sleep, but keeps warming up until by the time I get up it's time for a sundress!

Rained most of the night. Temps will be cooling here too. Final negotiations for ALF cost today and more packing for exDH. He moves on Tuesday. Hoping I can sneak away to Silver Springs for a day or two within the next two weeks for some R and R.

Good morning all! :D

Watching the news while I read the forum--JERKY treat warning :!: :!: I posted on pets, but bottom line, deaths from the ones from CHINA!!! Just spreading the word in case you've missed it...

Okay, back to good morning! Beth, OT--already getting in those extra hours?! Refresh my memory--you're at Amazon for the Cmas season?? ...Change of weather here too. Time to load up on the extra vit/supplements--seems like nasty colds like this "change-over" weather. Hey, Anita, did you ever get your flu shot? I wasn't a believer in them, but a couple winters ago, I learned the hard way--sooo sick! Lori, Louise & anyone else, hope you feel better soon!

That's it from me this a.m. Hope y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Light dusting of snow again this morning, but not as much as yesterday. Will be gone in a little while but I'm sure there will be more in the morning again, as long as this cold weather hangs on. More toward normal temps coming up later this weekend :)
Then maybe can get some outside work accomplished.

Muffins sound good this morning Lori. Thanks for the coffee too, but don't drink the stuff. Cold Special K cereal and a bowl of strawberries were breakfast for me this morning.

Sorry so many of you are getting those nasty head colds. Hope you all get to feeling better.

Heading for farmer's market this morning followed by stop at Home Depot and a couple of other places. Working on inside of house installing some plastic shrink wrap storm windows and insulating a few other places against old man winter. Then will snuggle down and let him roar outside. Plenty of projects to keep me busy this winter here.

Chilly, drizzly, 40 degree, gray Ohio weather here today. Today is the day the three gates get made and hung and the deck will be done. Luckily Dennis opened up his pottery studio and most of the wood working is going on under cover. The dogs will enjoy the freedom to come and go on their schedule. The wet and mud from the rain can't be changed but that is what old towels are for! :) I have an appointment at 10 this morning but my plans for the rest of the day center on staying dry and warm.....and reading.....

Good Morning,

Nothin' really going on here today. Still some pretty trees here, but the leaves are falling.

Yes, ma'am, I did thank you, but don't tell anyone because it can be a controversial subject. ;)

Everyone have a good day!!

Good Morning

Weather changing here in north AL too - next four days will be 20+ degrees BELOW normal including first frost by end of week. That is about two weeks early for first frost and I'm not looking forward to it or the loss of another hour of daylight soon. Sue, loved your photos yesterday but glad it is your snow, not mine.

Think we now have everything taken care of in prep for niece's surgery next Monday.

Am trying to find another contractor to repair porch ceiling at rental house. First guy was a "no show". I do have a potential renter if I can get that work done in time for her to move at end of month.

I've neglected my paper work so now facing small mountain of paper to deal with sooner rather than later. This is probably one of my least favorite tasks so guess that has something to do with how often it seems to get out of control.

Nothing all that interesting on my to do list for the remainder of the week. That means you ladies will have to help keep me entertained. ;)

Sue, your pictures of the snow were beautiful and that's the way I like snow, in pictures.

I keep putting off getting my flu shot and now I'm getting ready to travel on the 31st and again on November 9th. I'll see if I can work it into my so busy schedule this afternoon.

I hate to see the time change. I have been trying to walk right before dark and I will have trouble getting on the road before dark. I need to look for some new tennis shoes. The rubber in my walking shoes is getting stiff and doesn't have much spring. I finally got most of my papers filed. This time of year I have to move to a larger file box to get everything in. Last night on the news they were saying something about the IRS changing the date to file income tax. If they give me more time I will procrastinate longer.

Sarah, be glad your first contractor didn't show up if that's the way he works. They like to take on too many jobs. They will start something and then leave you hanging.

Foggy foggy morning here in SoCal. I kind of had it in my mind to hop over to Corona to the spa for the day, but not in fog! Guess I'll continue with unloading Hope and putting stuff away so I can reverse the process the week before Thanksgiving. Almost sand time...WOOHOO!!!

Donna H left last nite headed to San Diego if the freeways don't freak her out. Or not so much the freeways as the traffic on said roads. She figured she would spend the nite in Temecula at the casino and then head south with an eventual destination at the slabs. She got really lucky in finding an honest mechanic to fix her transmission.

Had a spirited discussion last nite with a friend about the proper way to make chili verde. We may end up having a cook off.

Hope everyone has a great day and stay safe!

I was up for an hour or so very early today, but then went back to bed. Been getting up around 8:30 or 9:00. So nice not to have much to do that I can sleep in when I want to.

I'm enjoying my campsite in this COE campground in Central California near Raymond. $15 for water and electric and a terrific view of an almost-dry lake and the mountains in the distance. I needed someplace to go for a couple of weeks before my lithotripsy and checking out this park and another one seemed like a good choice. This one is Hensley Lake and other was Eastman Lake. I like open spaces, so this one suits me best, but the other is nice, too. Heard coyotes howling last night and it is extremely quiet around here.

Today I will just hang around grading things and riding my bike, but tomorrow I will head out to a city to find a tire to replace the spare I used for my blowout on Monday. I want to get a matching tire, if possible, so will probably do some calling around.

Both hands are feeling much better after the cortisone shots on Monday morning also. My trigger finger is hardly sore at all and just catching a little. Will find out about carpal tunnel wrist today when I ride my bike. Hand doctor suggested surgery, but want to try this out first.

Have a good day, all!

Have a split shift today so am home for awhile now before heading back.

Temps have been hovering around the freezing point and have seen some flurries blowing around but nothing much. Hope we get an Indian Summer coming up before winter really hits.

Finally got my annual physical scheduled for the end of November and a colonoscoply :( scheduled a couple weeks before that. Still need to get the mammogram scheduled but can go in and get that done anytime before then. Want to get that all out of the way before the end of the year since I don't know what might change with my current insurance after that. I am way overdue for all of that anyways  .

Hope you all have a safe and happy day! :D
