Woohoo!!!! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Just remember to keep breathing. All of this will be behind you soon & you'll get to start anew!!! Congrats on this huge step forward!
Movers are here and are quickly moving along. Anything left with either hit the trash or be sent to Hospice. Getting there...I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I guess I kept too much stuff, that unit is packed to the door. So as soon as I get through cleaning the house and getting stuff settled down here, I am going back and toss some more stuff. Makes the rest of the house easy, throw away, throw away, throw away, my thought pattern is, I don't need it, I don't want it, throw it away.
Too cool, Nan. You're an inspiration to me! I, who have a basement full & a garage full of kid's stuff, friend's stuff, my stuff... I need to start a slightly different mantra - they don't need it, I don't need it, give it away... Hooray for your new freedom from 'stuff'!
Or even better, Catherine, "come get your stuff or it's gone!!!" I had the same problem, somehow being the repository of my mother's stuff after her death and my kid's stuff. I even had some of my brother's stuff, which I shipped to his daughter.
Wonderful that you are free of all that stuff, Nan.
My son is coming back through from a vacation on Saturday. Talked to him by phone and told him I had a pile for him to take with him. "But Mom!! the truck is full. Me: well we will get duck tape and tape it to the top, the bumper but it has to go.!!" I heard him groan.
"But Mom!! the truck is full. Me: well we will get duck tape and tape it to the top, the bumper but it has to go.!!" I heard him groan.
They fight to the end.
Glad you stayed strong & held your ground, Nan!! You go girl!
And yes, JudyJB, "come get it or its gone" is closer & closer to becoming a reality around here.
Actually just found out my baby bro (who just got married in Aug) is coming to town around Thanksgiving - I'm going to let him choose what he'd like from Mom's stash & then I'll have another excuse to drive up to Washington state next summer.
