Super Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Super Sunday

Postby Irmi » Sun Oct 20, 2013 6:28 am

Good morning everyone!

Greetings from Trap Pond State Park in Laurel DE. We met friends here for the weekend and will be headed home later today. Despite the cooler temperatures and some rain showers, we had a nice time.

Sausage, eggs, fried potatoes and coffee are on the table, so help yourselves. I hope everyone has a super Sunday!

Oh that sounds like my kind of breakfast and that will be on the grill when the sun comes up.

Glad the sprinkles didn't damper your trip.

It will be a wonderfully restful day after a whirl wind regatta weekend where I assisted with registration, food prep for 180, setting up raffle and silent auction. Exhausting! I told DD if she volunteers again next year, don't call me. :( Actually she did an amazing job with only a 3 week timeframe.

Hoping to get some sun on a friend's boat today. Eating pumpkin oatmeal and drinking some strong brew to kickstart the day.

Have a great day all.

Good morning all. Yesterday DH "convinced" me to go experience the sporting clays tournament. It was a perfectly beautiful day. Sunny, blue skies, cool breeze. I really enjoyed being out doors all day and now I know what sporting clays is! It's golf with a gun! You either carry your shotgun and ammo, push it in a cart or drive around the course in a raised, souped up golf cart with special scabbards for your gun. :P There are approx 22 different stations where the shooter tries to shoot the 2 clay pigeons that come flying from who knows where, replicating bird hunting. 5 times at each station. About 100 birds in all. Sure saves the lives of a lot of upland game. :P

Another beautiful day today. DH is headed for another tournament, but I'm going to put on my Renaissance garb and head up to the renaissance festival and watch lots of men in tights play bagpipes and fight dragons!! Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha!!

Good morning all :D

Irmi, what a way to start the day--nothing like a yummy hot breakfast on a cool camping morning! Red, men in tights? & oh my, those potato/pumpkin stories from yesterday LOL LOL

How exciting to hear of people getting ready to head to the Silver Springs GTG! Safe travels, Donna & all...Time flying by!

Off for more coffee. Nothing going on today, except Piper's class this afternoon... Y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good Morning All, Had a nice visit with the daughter yesterday...there are two new little MaltiPoos now living in her home. Such cute darlings and Casey is so patient with them. Love to watch them wrestle and run around the house.
Today Ava will be attending her daughters wedding here in SD. It will be a nice day inspite of the "morning o'cast". The tree you were asking about is a Norfolk Pine. Interesting, isn't it.
Trip, walking, to the library today then taking a friend out to dinner. lyn

Morning everyone! Have a great day!

Chris, If that DH of yours wants to do some REAL hunting the two of you should plan a trip to South Dakota. Fire up Red and head this way the third weekend in October for the opening of pheasant season! (From what I've heard no matter how you prepare clay pigeons they just don't taste worth a crap! ) Camp Cihak can offer free lodging and some land for him to hunt. Plus we have a hospitality gift....will fill the basement of Red with potatoes! If he gets skunked in the fields you will still have something to eat on the way home! ;) The entire state is crawling with out-of-state hunters this weekend. There is a dentist from Texas that has been coming to Avon to hunt for the last 20+ years.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Thanks for the invite!! I'm on my way.....in spirit :P DH doesn't like to hunt. He likes to compete! some of the shooters are practicing to shoot birds, but most of them are competing for points, trophies & bragging rights. That's why I compare it to Golf with a gun.

Good morning everyone,

Thanks for all your kind words & condolences on my uncle. He really was one of a kind. We (the entire CFCA family) are intent on keeping his legacy & work going. :D

Here's one pic of the beauty of Guatemala. This is from San Lucas Toliman where Bob choose to call his home - its easy to see why. :D Image

Irmi, Sausage, eggs & fried potatoes would go really well with my coffee... be over shortly I wish! ;)

Sounds like things are 'popping' in SD & TX. :) Glad I'm in KS - quiet & sunny today.

Didn't do much yesterday - had to retrieve my air compressor from my son's house to finish up winterizing the van today. Will go out to a nearby lake/campground to empty tanks & enjoy some outside time with Sadie. She's so much more needy since I left her last weekend - need to make it up to her & don't have time for another 3 week sojourn.

Hope everyone enjoys the day!

Good Morning......well, the day is finally here and of course the busy agenda continues. Meeting Lyn over dinner was a real treat the other night. Will put together a post of my SD adventures when I get back. Lyn...asked another local about that tree,,,,,not Norfolk pine but can't remember now what he told me. Will still have to google it. Need a little more coffee and go over to the dining room for a light breakfast. Will catch up on posts as time permits today. Have to pick up other mother and bring her with and still trying to figure out who is coming back over to pick up son two grandsons at the appropriate time.
Ok, gotta run, ya'll have a great day, be safe and hope you have good weather.

Have fun Ava and say "hi" to my squirrels for me! (the wedding is at the beach I used to call "Squirrel Beach" because of the friendly ground squirrels that will come up and sit in your lap to eat out of your hand!). Take lots of pics!

Supposed to have snow flurries here today  :( . So far just rain. Plan to stay home, do some housework, nap, read and take it easy today.

Have a great day gals!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I've been planning monthly events the past four years for the seniors at church. Today was the third annual Souper Sunday. Basically, it's a potluck of soup, salads and desserts, followed by an old-fashioned show and tell. Believe me, the seniors always love this event. The sharing was fun. One lady knows sign language and demonstrated signing a song. Another senior played his favorite Dolly Parton songs on his zither. Several shared about their hobbies. One gentleman makes old fashioned wooden pull toys from scrap lumber . . . little airplanes, trucks and cute animals. Another makes unique night lights, small lamps, and bird feeders out of glassware he finds at yard sales. They were so cleverly assembled from china saucers, glass cups, bowls, etc. At the end of the event, both men gave the items away. Not only did I have a great lunch, I came home with a pretty glass candy bowl night light stuffed with Christmas lights. It will look nice on the ledge behind the sofa in my little travel trailer.
