Hi wonderful ladies!
Thank you for all of the sensible advice given to this rv wannabe!
I really am trying to take my time and decide what is right for me as this is such an important decision for me and my dog and our future.
The sportsmobile had now caught my eye. Although very pricey, it might work out better for me in the long run since I have just discovered my vehicle is not good to tow.
Anyone out there have one? Any thoughts?

I had to Google Sportsmobile to see what you were talking about. Yikes, talk about pricey! We bought our new 31' C for less than some of those and recently bought a car trailer for our lightest weight car to take to Florida, since none of our vehicles could be towed. But do what makes you feel comfortable.

I didn't check the prices, but did an image search to see what they were. They looked really neat, only you would know if it would suit your wants & needs. Have you looked at one in person to see how things work & where things fit?

Some of the floor plans look like the Roadtrek and Pleasure-Way vans. Depending on what you wanted if you ordered a new one it could really add up. I don't remember ever seeing one in a campground so don't know how hard it would be to find a used one. Look on RVTrader.com for Class B motorhomes and see what all is out there.

Don't know where you are but if you would consider a used Sportsmobile, the website has listings of preowned units for sale (locations in Indiana, Texas and California). Prices are not quite as breath-taking as for the customized new stock. There's also a Yahoo group of Sportsmobile owners that is fairly active.

It would help for us to have more information. How do you want to use an RV? Do you plan on taking a couple of short trips each year or living in it full time? How far do you want to do? Are you going to always be traveling alone, or do you want to be able to have someone join you? How much sleeping room do you need? Do you want a full kitchen so you can cook all the time? How much stuff do you want to take with you? Is budget a big concern?

Are you willing to take showers in a campground facility? What about using the bathroom? Where are you planning to camp?

Each one of us lives a very different kind of life, so there is not one-size-fits-all when it comes to trailers or motorhomes.

Other questions are things like what will you do if you don't like it? Can you live in a very small space? Will you need a TV?? Satellite?

Geordy, if you want a B, also check out the Great West Legend built on the Sprinter. I think this van has one of the best floor plans. Having said that, they are scarce as hen's teeth (used).

Back to pricing. If you are going to buy any B new, negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. Start your offer very low. For instance, I believe I could buy a new GWL, for about 75% of the suggested retail. But you need to be very matter of fact about negotiating. Confident, unwavering, quick to walk away, etc.
