Good Sat morning!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Catherine,

Reading the articles about your uncle have left me in awe of this man. What a crusader he was and obviously he has changed the lives of so many who otherwise had nowhere to turn.

To think that he walked all the way to Guatemala (4,000 miles and 9 months)... What an incredible feat....an incredible man. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm sure he left you with so much wealth in non material things. You must be so proud of him. If only there was more attention given to people like him instead of famous personalities who flood the media but, with the exception of a few, have really done nothing meaningful.

Pat, driving over the potatoes sounds like something I would do. Years ago my mother accidentally set my dad's garden tractor on fire burning trash. She said it was just as much his fault as hers for leaving it in the way. When I do something dumb I tell my DH that it's just as much his fault. I haven't made the paper yet but I'm glad there wasn't a photographer around when I ran into the mail box at the post office.

Catherine, great article and such inspiration ... so sorry for your loss!

Pat, I'm laughing so loud - and more so about the butt ugly mashed potatoes - those probably could have used the drive-over.

Catherine, your uncle was an amazing man! Gave me goosebumps while reading about his life. Too bad there aren't more people in the world like him and his group. What an amazing world we would live in if we all gave even a fraction of ourselves to help others, as he did. What dedication!

Nothing much going on around here. Slow day at work so went home early. Raining off and on but no snow yet. Did see a rainbow on my way home, tho!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Pat- I love your story about running over the potatoes, especially two nights in a row. Give my best to Dennis and let him know I think it's great that he grows pumpkins for all the school kids. Peggy, back in CT
