Monday Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Monday

Postby JoanE » Mon Oct 14, 2013 6:24 am

Having my coffee this last morning at the beach with my daughter Mandy and friends. Daughter Ellen joined us for one night and day too. So much laughter.

Back to Sarasota to get my repair estimates. Need to get one for Art's ac too. Finish his move preparations and help Ellen with her final plans for her fund raiser.

Still have not had chance to see any of my friends, including a gtg with Carold.

Well I'll enjoy my last few hours here this morning. Have a great day all.

Sorry to hear your "vacation" at the beach is coming to an end. Seems like you had perfect company, food and weather. Maybe when things wind down, we will meet up.

Good morning Everybody. Peggy is once again in Connecticut. The trip west was great fun. I met up with 15 forum women during my westward migration. We have a great network going. Enjoy today.

Good morning Carold and Joan. I ditto what Carold said. I had a fun weekend. Sat a gtg with some friends visiting Austin. We went to the Broadway show "The Book of Mormon!" Then Sun I went up tot the Texas Renaissance Festival were my daughter is working for the season. Loved the people watching in their costumes and all the great Celtic music. I bought myself a long dress with a brocade bodice as a costume for future weekends.

This morning I'm heading to my PT appt and then down south a ways to gtg with Miss Deb as she passes through town heading west. :P Have to pass a Camping World to get there. Better hold tight to my wallet!! Hope everyone has a great day and stay safe. Aloha

Good Morning All - just made a fresh pot of coffee. Have the little heater on here in Gallup, NM Very cold our here at 6500 feet. Had to check the computer to see what time it was - forgot we were in Mountain Time and later today in Arizona until Nov we'll be in Pacific Time. We were still functioning on Central time.....dah.
Crossed New Mexico from Tucumcari to Gallup without stop. Weather was luke warm but the wind was blowing like a sob. Hope it lets up today. Still not sure if we're going to Monument Valley or just on to Cottonwood, AZ. Probably will be warmer in AZ and we go to the Thousand Trails there.
Bill wanted to leave home because of his allergies and it was cold there - well it is colder here and the dust blowing is driving us both nuts. I feel like the inside of my nose has been plastered!
Everyone on the road take care and be safe.

Good Morning

Getting my coffee late today as I had to get blood drawn before swallowing anything after midnight. That is the only appointment I ever make at 8:00 AM. My world doesn't function well without coffee.

Got very little accomplished over weekend. Weather was perfect and Nicky and I spent way too much time sitting on the porch. Did get the driveway blown and found someone to clean gutters before rain moves in later this week. Will meet with contractor later today about needed repair to rental house porch ceiling.

Have a great day.

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON ALL!

I am finding that between Facebook, this forum, and the other of Beth's forums, Open Roads Singles, and my email, I simply don't have the time to do any of them justice. Perhaps after my trip south, and after the Silver River GTG, when I once again get unhitched and settled a bit, I will find more time.

I am wondering where Louise who came to the Ruckus up here, and Gail with the two little Scotties, have gone? I haven't seen any postings from either of them in ages. I am worried that the GTG wasn't up to their expectations? I feel really bad about that, if that is true. Anyway, if either of you reads this, please write and let us know where you are!

Just took a long hot bath and head wash, have done three loads of laundry, have sorted through tons of bedding, pairing up sheets and pillow cases, etc., took a wet walk with the pups, and now am trying to get caught up on writing/posting. Welcome to any and all newbies whom I haven't had the chance to personally welcome, and, even though I sometimes don't have the time to answer, I am trying to at least read all the posts.

Time is flying by here as a week from today I will be on the road. I feel I still have a ton of things to do before I actually crank up the truck motor. And, if Wednesday doesn't see my social security check deposited, I can just about forget going anywhere for another month, or however long it takes this a-hole batch of politicians to come to some sort of agreement or settlement.

Tomorrow I am going to Kinney's Drugs for my Shingles shot and to get a few groceries. Hope tomorrow is less rainy than today!

Good Afternoon Ladies. I wrote a long post earlier this afternoon, it went out in cyberspace somewhere, which is good. I wrote of some of my woes etc. and I feel much better for doing it and really none of you need to know some of the petty stuff or even major stuff. It will all end up ok, and as I said I do feel much better :D

I do want to thank all of you for your concern over my trespassing man. Police in two states know of him and in N.C. they patrol this area a lot, and could be here in short order. I do carry my phone outside. Never know when ole clumsy me might fall off or into something :) Also I alerted his wife to the fact he came over here with the weird story and thinking we were friends enough he could sleep in one of my sheds. Tn. police questioned him on this when they went over to check on him, and he couldn't or wouldn't tell them why he came, but did admit he was here. He has been off of meds for ages, according to his wife. He is a very sick man and he does scare me. I have no neighbors to alert to this, except ones who caught him here. I live 25 miles from nearest town for N.C, so doubt city police would be able to do a thing. His wife has been trying for several years to get help for him, she has had to call the police several times because of his behavior, but unless he does something or doesn't keep himself clean and fed, nothing can be done. So she worries, but will not live with him again/

Thank you all for your concern, advice and suggestions, really appreciate it all. I have done all I can for where I am located. Except get out of here, which I am working at. Have a call in to my maintenance person, hoping he calls this evening. I have mowed and all I can do in yard, but it needs more, plus other items. Boxing things up, checking out a thrift store that does good with funds they collect from items donated to them. I am getting rid of it all, some really good stuff, but no one needs it, that I know of. :) Hoping this thrift store will pick up too, as I don't feel up to lugging all this stuff or carrying it in the RV.

Well, here is a long post again, if it goes off into space, not sure when you all might hear from me again
Take care, stay safe and hope you all are staying well,
CArol :)

Sorry about your situation...carrying the phone is a good idea... does 911 work where you are? Just be as careful as you can... I too just gave away some really nice things to Salvation Army...had to clean out daughter's bedroom so had a lot to give them. If I had more energy I'd go to the next bedroom & do some more... but not yet. It was hard to see them take things I'd had for years.... gave my 100 yr. old sewing machine that had all the parts & still worked... maybe someone else will enjoy that antique...anyhow, got kinda depressed about it for a day or two.... but it's for the best. They filled half the truck (big truck) with just my stuff... hope they can make some $$$$ on all of it....

Even though it''s late in the day I wanted to let y'all know we made it home last night. It sure was hard to say goodby to Mitch, but we will see her when she headed to Baja later this year. We dove in to boondocking this trip, having never done it before, we had 3 nights this trip! Piece of cake! :D

CArol, you might want to carry some mace/pepper spray with you when you are out in the yard, just in case...

Carol, that guy needs to get incarcerated as soon as possible, before he does something very bad to either himself or to someone else. I can feel your fear as you describe him and what he is doing. Unfortunately, one of those orders of protection things never seem to work, and sometime even make a situation worse, I have found, anyway. I don't know what I would do in your case. Like Excel who was broken into, and is now apparently preparing to move, it makes me so angry to know that others can upset our lives so much that it completely changes our paths. The once peace you both felt has been so destroyed by sickos. Why do guys like this have so much protection that they can't be apprehended and put out of circulation so that the rest of us can go on with our lives? The right to privacy and all that baloney should not be allowed to prevail when people have violated the rights of others, in my opinion. I am so sorry for both of you, and wish there were something that could be done to remedy your situations and restore your feeling of safety. Big hugs to you both, and I hope you both can find some peace and solutions that will make you feel happy again.
