Thank you everyone for the delightful birthday wishes. The day was spent driving 400 miles home from the RVW National Convention in Sacramento. I took a week off from school -- with my Principal's blessing! -- and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not so much the Convention, but more being in a new city with lots to explore. We went to the Mother Lode country (Placerville and Coloma), toured a restored gold mine and Sutter's Mill, visited old Sacramento, and even drove over to the Jelly Belly factory. It was glorious! 
But tomorrow it will be back to school and my sixth graders. Hopefully my room will be in one piece and the kids won't have forgotten their manners. Fingers crossed on both counts.

Glad to hear you're home safely - I knew you were having a great time. One of my co-workers went to the Jelly Belly factory on one of her days off this week. She got presents for her grands while there.
