Sprinkling on this TUESDAY morning....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sprinkling on this TUESDAY morning....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 4:14 am

Still sprinkling and on the warm side here in SE GA....but at least the A/C is getting a rest... ;) I'm sure it will be back on later in the day....if only to help out with the humidity.....

Yesterday, was a little shopping for a few groceries and got the laundry done...dodging the rain drops in the afternoon....also got my 2 appts. for follow-ups on the kidneys and the skin issues made here....thought I'd have a hassle getting them, but it went pretty smooth....and Ernie got his blood work done at the local VA clinic...today will be to get Spinner his yearly check-up appt....then the 3 of us will be done for this year....I hope.... ;)

We've decided to hang out here at the Big Wheel RV Park until the 1st of Dec....we like the area and the CG....haven't decided anything for Dec. yet, but that's okay...we can do that later.... ;)

Well, nothing much more to add here right now....Coffee is ready with some Pumpkin Spice creamer, if you'd like....and a bowl of fruit and yogurt on the table, if you'd like..

Have a great day, all...

Good morning, Laurie and all who follow. Hard to believe that I'm awake at 5:23 a.m., but here I am, making my first "Morning Coffee" post. Still in bed and it's dark outside, so I don't know what the weather is. Just checked a weather site and it's 58F with an 85F high for the day. That's cool weather in south Texas. It's going to be a busy day today. I have to find the right caulk to fix the holes where the screws went through the body of the RV. I also need hardware for the blind that lives over the kitchen sink and for a curtain rod. I've managed to lose both. I'll also paint the stripes on the second roller blind. I have to find curtains and a shower curtain. No new privacy curtains right now. I just want to be finished. Lots going on that isn't RV related, too, so I',m guessing it's anticipation that woke me up. I'm so grateful that the weather is finally cooling down. Never thought I'd see the day when I thought that 86F was cool. But life is full of surprises. I'm also very grateful for this forum. Can't imagine going through all this RV angst without the sistahs.

Ellen, I hope you'll get in touch when you're in Texas. I'm near San Antonio but can drive to Houston and get together with you and Red if either of you would want to do that. There are more of us in TX who would probably enjoy a fall or winter GTG.

I have a reservation for the Florida January GTG, but the $ have been eaten up by RV repairs. Might have to cancel those plans and stay closer to home. Good thing there are lots of places to see in Texas.

Have a beautiful day, everyone. Big hugs to all.

Good morning everybody from Tucumcari, New Mexico. The Balloon Fiesta was wonderful; way beyond my expectations. If you have lost your sense of awe and are a little jaded, I recommend the balloons. You can't imagine how excited you will get. Heading home through Kansas. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning all! :D

Sunny here this a.m., & Anita got on her way about an hour ago :( but we'll meet again in FL. Isn't this the life? Seeing your friends in all parts of the country!

Now, back to the usual. Mowing this afternoon, & this morning, faced with house cleaning that I really don't want to do!

Mitch, I caught up with your saga, so I'm keeping good thoughts! Texans, happy to hear you're getting "cooler" weather! Catherine, was good to see you back on MC the other day! Keep us posted on your quest for retirement! Peg, Catherine is outside of Kansas City--sounds like a possible gtg?

Y'all have a great day & safe travels always!! 8-)

Looks like I'm gonna miss you again! Darn! I'm still in Arkansas, waiting on my step motor. Hopefully it will be in today and I can get it installed tomorrow morning in Alma. Travel safe, my friend!

Did you guys chase any of the balloons, Peggy? That is just wild fun!

I spent yesterday with old friends. It was a lovely day; made up for last week! Today the sun is back and the temperature is cool. Happiness!

A gorgeous Tuesday to all. :D

Still gorgeous weather here in Napa. I am headed to Bodega Bay and one of the campgrounds there tomorrow morning. No reservations but I should not have any problems since it is midweek and there are several campgrounds in that area to choose from. No electric, however. I'll be back here a week later for what will be hopefully my last doctor appointments. Then who knows where I will go???

I am waiting for the government campsites to open up so I can try out some COE parks in the valley.

So got laundry to do today and washing of windows, and then tonight over to see the grandkids.

Judy (or anyone else), what's the best way to find COE campgrounds? Thanks.

Usually I go to this link: http://corpslakes.usace.army.mil/visitors/visitors.cfm

When I just went there it was a white page that said only this:

Because of the federal government shutdown, most USACE-operated campgrounds and day-use parks are closed. Affected recreation areas will not reopen until after the shutdown is lifted. Some may remain open during the shutdown if visitor service requirements can be met and the public's safety can be assured. Visitors are encouraged to contact their local park office or District office for information, or look for additional information on their local district's website. For more information, go to http://www.usace.army.mil.

There are books - look on Amazon - but they are expensive. I have one of the older editions.

But you can find all of them online. It's difficult to navigate the coe website right now, as when you go to the cg's page, it shows a temp page saying most are closed. (Link above in Vickie's post and her explanation) But those that are reservable (not meaning you have to make the reservation) but you can find them on reserve america and look for them by state:
http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/N ... tCode=NRSO

If you do a google search you can find other means to find them- but to get all the info on each place, will have to wait, in most cases, until the shutdown ends.

Vickie posted while I wrote this - so overlapping :)

I'm in the land of Oz. Dorothy and Toto greeted me as I drove into Liberal, Kansas.
Carolb -Catherine and I have been in touch and I plan to see her tomorrow night. I can't drive any further with this wind.
Louise- we didn't have to chase the balloons; they landed in a field right in front of where the Roadtreks were parked. I have photos of balloons nearly touching the tops of our rigs.
Sandi - there is a great COE campground just south of Santa Fe. It's Lake Cochiti. There is another smaller one in Abiquiu.

Hello all----I missed morning coffee----how about nighttime coffee with supper? I tried some different frozen, already cooked meatballs which were on sale, and they are HORRID! This is the second brand I have not been able to eat. I think they put cereal in them and hardly any meat. I will toss the rest out if Dinah won't eat them.

Worked on the upstairs of the house again today, took Molly to the vet to get her glands squeezed and a crooked toenail that I dared not cut done. Lots of downed trees as I drove to town. Glad our power came back on without too long a delay.

We just took a walk to the pond, but now don't dare to let the dogs free as it's deer time at the old apple tree. Leashes from dusk to dawn from now on as there are so many deer traveling around.

Guess I will get into my fleecie jammies, have a yogurt for dessert and to wash down the icky meatball flavor. Then to bed for some TV underneath my warm heavy-duty sleeping bag with my Molly warmer. I will also turn on my furnace as it's supposed to be a really cold, cold night tonight.

Have a happy night y'all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
