Saturday Morning, looks like maybe rain....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday Morning, looks like maybe rain....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:49 am

Looks a little cloudy this morning....but there's rain in the forecast for the weekend, so we aren't surprised...We plan to go into St. Mary's for their shrimp fest today, so am hoping the "wet stuff" will hold off until later in the day...

Other than the "plans" looks like a quiet weekend for us....

Hope everyone is well, and if traveling, be safe...

Coffee and muffins here...help yourselves..
Have a great day, all... ;)

Good Morning
Saturday will be our last hot, dry day for a while. Rain moving in tonight with storms tomorrow.
Several errands to take care of today and outside drains to clear later - hopefully before rain starts. One of my errands is to check on Magic and run engine a few minutes.
Niece had full PET scan on Thursday; no results yet.
Need to finish off the coffee and get started.
Have a good day.

Carolb and I are back in Bennington, VT where we started this leaf peeping journey on Tuesday. The weather has turned cool and damp.

We covered many miles in Vermont and New Hampshire. Really a thrill for me to finally see New England in the fall.

I did a couple of hikes yesterday - The Flume and at the top of Mt. Cannon after riding the tram to the top. Unfortunately, the day was cloudy so colors weren't as vibrant but still very pretty. Feeling the hike this morning!

I imagine we are both a bit behind reading posts on here! Today we will head to Carolb's home where I will stay a few days before heading south.

Good Morning from South Dakota the Land of Infinite Variety! The Deadwood/Lead area has received 44 inches of snow  since early Friday morning. Here in the southeastern part of the state we had tornado warnings and thunderstorms last night. I-90 is closed from about mid-state to the Wyoming border. So sad for the area because the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October are packed with tourist events in the Black Hills. We're a balmy 39* this morning with light rain, I refuse to turn on the furnace and making do with the fireplace. Hot coffee tastes great! Just heard a censored expletive echo from the bedroom, apparently after I let Radar back in the house she jumped in bed and stuck her cold nose on DH. So much that I should do today but I'm going to go to Mitchell with Missy to check the greenhouse and the apartment. Her grandson and a friend are living there while they attend college and she's told them that she'll be doing spot checks and if they aren't doing what they're suppose to do that they're going to be out on the street. They don't have to pay rent as long as they keep the lawn mowed and raked and other little chores and of course not trash the apartment. She did the same thing for my oldest son when he was attending Vo-Tech. I knew he wouldn't have trouble with the chores that he had to do but I was seriously worried about how clean he'd keep the apartment since we always called his room the boar's nest. But he surprised all of us!

Well have a good day....I'd better go take a shower and get ready.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning Lori, Sarah, Pat and all,

Chilly and wet day here in the west central U.P. Rained during the night and is supposed to rain all day today into tomorrow morning. At the moment it has stopped here, so Sassy and I went out for a quick potty session. She not I

So will be spending day here catching up on posts, working on my sign project and just puttering around. Fridge is starting to get empty, so will probably venture out to get a bite to eat later this afternoon. Don't want to stock up cause I am leaving Monday.

Sarah, I see you have moved Magice to her "resting" spot. Bet you hated to do that. Hope you are getting caught up at home finally.

Pat, glad to hear you didn't get snow over your way. I was wondering if you were affected by the storm. Also glad you didn't have any tornadoes either. Crazy weather for this time of year. Feel sorry for those communities who were hit with all the snow and tornadoes. Way too early for that much snow and way too late to have tornado damage with winter coming on. Sounds like Tropical Storm Karen is falling apart. Martha, hope you don't get too much water from all the rain.

Am off to check on other threads, have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning,

Quite here on the homestead. Dog sitting this weekend for my neighbor, since my plan of going to Grand Isle was cancelled because of Tropical Storm Karen.

Have a great day!

So, I had to google image search BOAR'S NEST (I didn't know if they really made nests...).

All that came up were some trashy looking bars and some scantily clad women on motorcycles.

Do they really make a "nest", or is that some Yankee, country saying?

good morning ladies
am sure glad some of you are enjoying some travel time, the blogs and posts are certainly giving me some satisfaction in this
otherwise state of stress and insecurity I'm feeling lately. The wedding gets closer and I've been a bundle of nerves with the
fear of my trip going right. The majority of that fear stems from my budget. Its a good thing I'll have a payday soon as I get
back. Son says he's going to help with the $$ since he's riding with me and sharing the room but I have yet to see the $$. Also,
grandson #2 is riding with us too but grandpa booked a room for the two teenagers, so thats one less stress I have to deal with.
Was really stressing over being cooped up in a motel room with two teenage boys and their loud music, and of course attitudes.
So much going on at work too. One rather large wheelchair passenger keeps throwing temper tantrums and doesn't want to go
to school and during these tantrums he kicks and hits and throws his big size 13 shoes. He has caused my aide to be sent to er once
and rather work with the issue and do something about the tantrums, their answer is to switch aides. This isn't going to change his tantrums.
When its apparent he's in one of his "moods", the shoes come off and stuffed in the backpack on his wheelchair before they end up on
the backside of my head. The kid is highschool, grown man size but with the capacity of a 3 year old. God bless the parents. I'd have
to say this has been the most difficult student I've had. Two days in a row we could not get near his wheelchair to unhook it and had
to have his teacher come out and help distract him while we got the hooks off. Teacher wants us to ignore it, ummmm, excuse me,
we're getting injured here! When I'm operating the lift, his arms are longer than the cord for the switch and he tends to grab at my face.
If my glasses get broke, the district will not pay for the replacement and I certainly can't afford it either. First time they hit the payment
and got scratched, second time I was able to grab his hand and retrieve them. They were a little bent but I was able to straighten them out.
Everyone at work is on pins and needles right now, we had a mandatory meeting and we were told one of our aides......an incident
happened that will hit the news and is no longer employed. I'll be watching for the details but the "rumor mill" says he hit a kid.
Another aide got terminated after her back surgery where she ruptured two discs and they took out a vertebrae. They denied her
short term disability claim, which is voluntary benefit we buy for such reasons. Don't understand all that cause I had no trouble
using mine when I had that bells palsy, I never missed a paycheck. She must not have filled out the paperwork properly and is now
in jeopardy of even being homeless cause she can't pay her rent. An angel has taken care of November for her while she finishes up
her physical therapy and fights to get her job back. We do pull together at work in a crisis but we can only do so much.
Well, I feel better now venting all that. Running a bath and getting busy with my day.
Will need to run one of my kennels over to daughters dads house as they need to borrow it for the trip with their two little dogs.
Also need to make a run out to the rv to grab my suitcase and a few other items for the roadtrip.
Still can't decide what to do with my hair and need to buy earrings. Two weeks to go.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning to All - Bill cooked a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs with potato, onions, green pepper and summer sausage. To be eaten - he says - with tortillas. Now we are just hunkering down in Alfie. Lots of thunder, lightening and rain rain rain out for most of today here in Brnason. Still got Verizon Internet but satellite TV is out until the skies clear up a little. At least it has cooled down. Yesterday was way too hot and humid to be out and about. I'm thinking maybe we'll stay here beyond Monday as next week is supposed to be real nice - cooler and dry so we can check out the area some. We're in no hurry to get to anywhere.
Hope no one got caught in the snow or the tornado areas. What weird weather. Snow, tornados, hurricane and heat and wind in CA. Is it summer or winter?

It's 90 and sunny here this morning. A little breezy. It looks like most of the rain will go East of New Orleans. Jim Cantore is in Pensacola Beach so those people better watch out. The eye is going to come on shore close to us but as long as it's East of us it pulls water out.

I don't know if Boars make a nest but you should see what they can do to a pasture or a yard. Our neighbors land runs along a woods and there are big areas that look like it's been plowed. They built a pen that's about 30' across. I see they are out there repairing it this morning. My DH said they have killed 10 wild hogs but some manage to escape.

Ava, it's not right that they won't pay for your glasses if they get broken on the job. When I worked for the farm supply we had a salesman that ran everything he did on his expense report. I had to pay child care just to have a job and couldn't deduct it. That really pissed me off.

Yesterday I tried to get everything I needed so I wouldn't have to go to town today but I forgot cat litter. :x I bet that's not something the local store carries.
