Wonderful posts, Beth! I especially loved the national monument with the badger pic. Lucky you...I've never encountered a badger in the wild. And love that kind of cg too, glad you found it!

Thanks for sharing, what a contrast from dirt roads to LA traffic. Nothing more fun than a Southern CA highway after a rain The roads get so slick and people just slide all over the place. I was in City of Industry on day it rained, 1st rain in months. The oil on the roads made them slick as ice. A wreck every 1/2 mile. So please be careful if it rains and good luck in your new job.

Fantastic photos!
I'm with you on the clouds... they are incredible. You're so much gutsier than I am on taking some of those roads - maybe I'll get better with time - but when I see steep grade, I grab the steering wheel so tight & have to tell myself to keep breathing until I can see it level out. And that's after I check out each road on my 'mountain guide' book.
