I'm on my way to Bodega Bay on Wednesday since it is likely that Yosemite will be closed. I guess I need to get my rear furnace fixed, although it can't be colder there than it was at Crater Lake where there was some snow one day.

Sarah, warn your niece about constipation from the pain meds. That was honestly the most painful part of this entire ordeal. Lots of painful parts, but that was the worst. Get a jar of stool softeners and have her keep it close. I'd take a pain pill with a stool softener chaser...

When I told surgeon on first follow-up visit, his comment was "oh, yeah, from the pain meds..." Uh, like, don't you think patients should be warned BEFOREHAND?

Hopefully, that was not TMI!

Ah...yep, I'll second that about the constipation from pain meds... but I was told to get the stool softeners at my discharge...but it does take awhile to get the "system" back to normal...
