I had forgotten just how beautiful it is up there on that parkway. I was a tenter, driving a van full of equipment and kids when I last did that, and never imagined that there would be a campground as wonderfully beautiful as the ones you stayed in! I am very happy to see those pics-----if I had someone to share the trip with, I would do this again on my way south, but.....sigh.

Liz your photo of mountain layers is what I love most about the BR area. I have instructed my daughters to spread my ashes along the BR Parkway under a tree with a view of the mountains as depicted in your blue layers. Brings tears to my eyes, it is so beautiful. Thinking I might have to relocate there. Asheville or maybe Blowing Rock.

Yes the blue of the mountains is what the imagination feeds on...... When I think of mountain views their are those ranges out west but these are the colors I experienced in the youth.... I think it was early imprinting on the spirit....
