Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Weds. and hoping the Misty Weather will stop soon...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Wed Sep 25, 2013 6:20 am

Another misty morning in the low country of GA.....So hoping that it will let up some later in the day as would like to take Deb for a little tour of the area....

We had a nice evening here over steak & fixings, wine, and lots of friendly conversation with Deb, Andy & Gwen, and Andy's friend, Pete....The fur-babies, Spinner, Duncan, and Diamond had a ball running, rolling, and playing in the fenced in yard with no leashes on.....I know Deb took photos with her phone, so maybe I can get her to post some of them today.....

Am starting to get my "bills" from my adventure in the medical world....  Looks like I'll be on the phone straightening out a few things that were miss billed to the wrong VA office....and I so made it clear where to send things...  But am not surprised....just ticked that the hospital didn't listen to me.... :?

But today, I'll not worry about....want to enjoy our visit with Deb....

So, the coffee's ready, and some muffins just out of the oven...help yourselves....

Have a great day, all...

Good Morning Loir and all who follow,

Yummm, muffins sound good this morning Lori, thank you. Sorry to hear your weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate for you. Hopefully that sun will shine later today.

Just making a quicke post this morning. Be leaving shortly to take Sassy to groomers for bath and trim. Then to Farmer's Market for me and a couple of other errands. Getting all the last minute things done before heading north for a week. Yesterday, got snowblower to dealer for yearly service, cut all but backyard grass, friend came over and we winterized my TT. Now all it needs is a good bath and then to get covered up for winter. Also did a bit of house cleaning and load of wash. so was busy day.

Maggie, sorry about your issues with the tire blowout. Hope you can get it fixed quicker than you think. It was son nice to have had some angles watching over you and taking care of your tire for you. Also glad to hear that Mitch is still doing well. But sure sorry to hear Vickie is having some problems with Ronnie taking a fall etc. And like Sharon said, time for some good news. Been too much bad news of late. Seems like we are all having some sort of problems out there right now. But as we all say "this too shall pass". Liz and CArol sound like they are enjoying their trip south, slow but sure.

Time to get a move on here. Will be checking the other threads later this evening. Have a wonderful day all, and enjoy the ride if you are on the road.

Good morning Lori, Sue & all to follow :D

Med bills! UGH! Glad you're going to forget about them for the day & enjoy your company....

Speaking of...I have a driveway guest! A fellow Trekker that I met through Peggy (not) in CT! (Good to see you on MC, Peg!) Anyway, Di, her dog & cat arrived late Monday, & she's another great RV lady! Hope (her lab mix) has fit right in with my 3 poopers--been fun to watch them play in the yard. Glorious fall weather--the mist has lifted here & the sun is shining!

Hope y'all have a sunny day, good health (yep, too much "bad" news lately) & safe travels always! 8-) ...(& thanks to all for the bday wishes :D )

Good Morning,

Another beautiful day in Port Republic, NJ! It has been a nice break from go, go, go and now I am ready to go again.

So many things going on with everyone and too much 'bad'! Keeping good thoughts for everyone! Enjoying all the good things tho.

I am excited as today I drive down to Cape May to a cousin's for a few days. His two sisters will also arrive this afternoon. His daughter and two children from Australia are also here. These cousins and I grew up in opposite corners of the country - Florida and Washington - and didn't really connect in person until 2005.

This visit will be followed with some leaf peeping in Vermont with Carolb!

Wishing you all a great day and no more disturbing news!!

Like the saying goes, when it rains, it pours. I lost the tread on one of my tires while doing 70 yesterday. The tread also damaged the storage compartment behind the wheel well. At the time it happened, I had a tractor trailer on my tail. Boy, did he react quickly! Lucky for all of us, no one was coming in the opposite direction, so he moved into that lane.

The bad news is that my 3 year old Michelins are all showing dry rot (remember Walmart told me not to worry yet?) And should all be replaced. The roadside tire guy didn't have my size so am camped in Jacksboro TX waiting for local dealer. They quoted $252 each!!!!!

The possible good news is that my guy in Sarasota told me Michelin has a serious dry rot problem and may pay for some or all the cost to replace tires. Not sure if having free bad tires is a good thing but I like free.

I know there was a long thread on tires here, but tread is not the only thing to look for. My tread is great. Look for very fine cracks in your sidewalls.

I found a very unique cg in Jacksboro. They have a herd of deer that roam the grounds looking for carrots. The fawns came right up to Maggie. In the back field are pigs, goats, donkeys, a horse, antelope, chickens. It is Hidden Lake RV Ranch & Safari. Today a TV station will be filming here.

Joan, sorry to hear about your tire problem. I had one take out all the wiring to my electric step one time. One good thing about the internet you can research the price of tires to see if they are quoting you a fair price. I just paid $300 each for 2 Goodyear tires but I wanted the ones Goodyear say are for RV's. We probably have the same size tires. I had let the local tire place put regular truck tires on and they were cupping, which is uneven wear.

I wanted to get a hair cut but can't get an appointment until tomorrow. When I decide I want my hair cut I am really close to whacking on it myself so will try to hold off until tomorrow.

I might go look at cars. I must feel like being aggravated today. Last night I found the Buick Encore online. My friend had the Enclave and I really did like it but they are almost $40,000. The Encore is a smaller SUV. Nothing has as good a review as the Hondas. I will drive myself crazy with trying to decide. I probably looked at vans for 5 years. There was one on the lot someone ordered and didn't take and my DH told them that's the one she wants or I would still be trying to decide and that was 10 years ago.

Good morning all! Another beautiful sunny day here on the central coast of CA.

Joan - Sorry you are having tire problems. Good luck with the fix. Are you a FMCA member? - they offer discount program on Michelins. When I had my Class A RV tires checked at a local truck tire place, they told me the Goodyear tires on my RV were still in good shape. They also mentioned they do not recommend Michelin tires for RVs for the reasons you mentioned. I've always had Michelins on my cars with no problems.

I've never heard anything good about Michelin tires. We lost one on a class C and it took out all of the wiring. We weren't 50 miles from home on our way to a jeep outing. Had to turn around and head back home because we didn't have any lights on the rv or the trailer. I just bought tires for Hope last year...you don't want to know how much I paid! The last ones lasted 8 years so I'm thinking I'll never have to do that again.

Not much going on here in the backwoods of Arkansas. Making plans but will be here for at least another 2 weeks as Boy Chick just started his "off" time today. I'm usually crying all the way home but this year I'm ready to go home. Don't know why, either.

Hope everyone has a great day! Martha, leave your hair alone! LOL! I do the same thing, start whacking on it when I get disgusted with it! LOL!
