A Sunday to Welcome Fall

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Sunday to Welcome Fall

Postby carolb » Sun Sep 22, 2013 8:20 am

Good morning all! :D

A day of rest, sort of, for me! Sorry I've been totally absent for the past few days--wow, did I miss so much activity! The yard sale was grueling, but being with my cousin is always a riot! I thought I'd have "down" time to keep up via my cell, but nope!

My prayers go out to those that are going through difficult times :( Irmi, your sweet mom...I'm so thankful I was able to meet her this past summer....Great pic, Mitch :D And BJ, great news from you re acupuncture vs meds!

Ok, so today I also celebrate my mom & dad :D Well, especially mom who labored on this day! I see the cake lady has already notified y'all  Thanks!!! :P

And I do plan to have a wonderful day! Hope y'all have a great day too, & as always, be safe on the road! 8-)

Good morning all,

Carol and I will be on the road again to our next adventure in West Virginia. We'll be camping at Walmart! ;)

Irmi, I hadn't heard about your mom. (((Hugs))) to you and your family. You have been a wonderful daughter, the best one could hope for, taking care of both your parents. I know you are glad to have been there at this time. Take care of yourself.

Carolb, glad you get a day of rest for your birthday!

Looks like the rain has passed this area, and we're going to have beautiful weather the next few days.

Good Morning and Happy Fall to all!

The day has dawned overcast, cooler, but heavy overnight rains have cleared out. I am awaiting the sunshine predicted to put out my awning once again and sponge off the water from the outside table. My plans for the overcast part of the day include grocery shopping and gassing up the truck, and then getting my antique desk pics ready to send off to the Coffin House in MA to see if they are interested in having that back where I was told it came from.

I hope you all will enjoy this fall equinox, whereas the day and night are of equal length for this one time. Then, nights will be longer than the days until the winter solstice in December. Those longer hours of darkness never cease to depress me, or fill me with a need to seek 'protection' and 'warmth' and 'security.' Perhaps I am really a bear in human clothing. I hope real bears don't feel the depression this human one can never avoid every year at this time.

HAPPY FALL EQUINOX TO ALL!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning,

Irmi, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing.

Mitch, hope you are feeling better by the hour.

I am in Port Republic, NJ about an hour north of Cape May where I will meet cousins later in the week. In the meantime, I am trying to do the usual after being busy - cleaning and catching up.

We had a good rain overnight, but the days are nice and warm.

I had a nice Jacquie Lawson card from a cousin this morning and wondered why - hadn't thought about it being fall!!

Fun to read of those on the road or preparing!

Good morning ladies
Fall is finally hear, hope this means the heat of summer is done for the year and we don't get any more triple digit temps. Guess this was
one of the hottest summers on record.
The main hotwater heater quit yesterday, well, not the waterheater itself but the outlet its plugged into....so....am trying to get enough
hot water in the tub from the bathroom sink separate one to call it a bath. It will take a little while to get enough water in the tub but it
will happen.
Thats about the highlight of my day :P
Ya'll enjoy your day and be safe

Irmi..sorry to hear of your moms passing

Good Morning

Wow, Mitch that photo of you in yesterday morning post is stunning - you really do look 15 years younger than when I saw you in July!!! Hope you are resting more comfortably today.

I got bak to north AL Friday afternoon well ahead of the rain. So much to catch up on here, hard to find a start place.

Found out a little more about niece's situation but in that waiting game now so please keep her in your prayers
"It is invasive ductal carcinoma, they do not think it is in the lymph nodes yet. Doctor at the breast center who did the biopsy gave her the diagnosis after the pathology report came back. Connie's doc also called her and when Connie ask her what stage, the doc said " It is bad, honey" We will know more on Monday."

Have a good day.

Hello everyone!

So sorry I haven't posted for awhile, but through others here, I think most of you know I lost Mom Friday morning. Thank you so much for all of your kind words. That means so much. Her service is tomorrow morning with lunch following at the fellowship hall. I am very concerned about Dad, as he needs lots of care, but for the time being, he doesn't want to make any rash decisions and will stay in his house, using the same nurses he's had.

I'm so happy to hear about those of you who are traveling, whether by RV or air (Tina) and hope all of you are having tons of fun. Mitch, I think about you so often and pray for a good outcome. Carolb, happy birthday. I'm sure I missed other occasions while I've been missing, so please accept my apologies for not posting to them. Have a wonderful first day of fall everyone.

I'm finally up. Actually have been for a while. I have been trying to get to bed earlier so I can get up at a reasonable hour--been getting into terrible habits, but then again, I am retired and can do what I want, I keep telling myself.

I've had sleep problems all my life. Just one of those people who have trouble getting to sleep and are up 3-5 times every night, sometimes for over an hour one or two of those times. I've tried the over the counter stuff and a prescription sleep aid, but none of them work very well. Just have to live with it, I guess.

It rained all day yesterday and is going to be cool today. I am taking a few rest days in this luxury RV resort. Since I am right next to the laundry facility, I am going to do my bedspread and bedding, towels, and some clothes today. I can wash my RV here, but will wait until Wed, just before I leave, I think, so it will be nice and shiny for my son and family in Napa.

Made myself some French toast from the fresh-baked bread and put some Michigan maple syrup on it!

Irmi, sending my condolences to you and your family. Losing our mom's is so very difficult! You took very good care of her tho! She will always be around you in spirit. Hope your dad will be OK thru this too. Take care of yourself as well, you have been thru a lot lately!

Sheila, so sorry to hear about your niece too! That is scary! I hope it isn't as bad as the doctor made it sound. Keep us posted. How old is she?

Mitch, just skip those nasty drugs and stick to the wine!  No bad side effects with that! :D

Being lazy here today. Gorgeous day outside! Just reading some books on RVing! Lots of good info! There is an RV show today south of me but I decided that climbing up and down RV steps all day wouldn't be good for my sprained ankle. It is feeling much better but I stressed it a little too much yesterday at work, so I want to give it a rest today. So I will just sit here with Lola on my lap, relax, read, nap, snack, and watch the boats go by on the lake! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
