Let's get together!

Endodontist office just called - they can fit me in on Friday for the root canal. So while you all are partying and having cocktails I will be stuck in a dental chair with all sorts of stuff hanging out of my mouth. And that darn suction thing that makes that awful noise. I haven't had anything wrong with my pearly whites for the last 40 years. I guess this is better than having a dental emergency when away from home or the day of the wedding! I hope you all have a wonderful time, and if site 14 is empty, stand in it a have a cocktail for me!

Judi, Sorry you can't make it. Good thing I read you message, though. I thought I was in 14. Just checked, I'm in 16.

The sun is shining now. Beautiful day.

Taking highway 38 is kind of backtracking to go south. Karen is right, 38 is a more scenic drive but 42 is a better "rv" road. I drove 38 in my car but didn't look at it through "rv eyes." I do remember that is was a nice, relaxing drive but 42 gets you in a better position to go south.

Laura

Three mapping services have it faster to take 38 than 42 from the casino ... which is further than Tugman from 38! 42 goes south then north - takes longer according to all. Now, I have no idea which is better in an rv, but find that interesting. Not sure yet whether I will go drive I5 or stick with 101 down the coast. No matter which I do, have to travel 300 miles a day for two days after leaving here.

Too bad you won't be there Judi - and Anne, I'm sorry the threat of rain made you cancel. It's supposed to be raining today ... but while it did a bit overnight and this morning, the sun has been peeking through the clouds so far all day ... and the temps are great. I hated canceling, too but I have to make a living and work called ... but those that make it will have a great time, rain or shine.

Well it says showers but I have found that it does not always happen and can just be overcast. Sunday and Tuesday should be nice but all predictions are in jello.

We just came in a few minutes ago. If it's as nice as today, we'll be sitting outside doing a lot of chatting. We also plan to eat in the casino sometime late afternoon/evening ... nothing definite. C'mon over and visit! Lyn is in the overflow area (no charge there) and Karen and I are in the rv park.

I've driven both 38 and 42. 38 takes you south of Cottage Grove. 42 south of Roseburg. Neither is hard to drive. You could also drive down 101 to 199 and drive through Grants Pass. But 199 is pretty curvy (windy doesn't look right, my brain isn't working).

I am so "there" for any upcoming GTG's! I am pretty centrally located - in the greater Sacramento area. PLEASE keep me on your list!!

Thanks. :-)

Howdy all! I just thought I would chime in and say I can't wait to see everyone on Saturday. Am getting antzy now that Ellen and I talked about the GTG. I am super stoked to visit old friends and meet new ones. See everyone there and can't wait to just go with the flow -- afterall, that's how we roll at these things! If it rains a little on us, we will all survive - last I checked none of us were made of sugar - despite how sweet we are!

I won't say that I wish I was there because I don't. I am just about to head out on my trip to WI. I do, however, wish you have loads of fun, post pictures and hopefully see you all soon.
Hanging out in Oregon.

OK so the weather here is wonderful!!! No wind, sun is out, a few clouds. Just went for a long walk with Lyn and Beth and the dogs. Great boardwalk behind the casino and down to the water. Small sandy beach that Peaches liked quite well.

So happy to meet up with Beth and Lyn. Lyn's plans to hang out in Eureka fell thru due to a sick friend so she just jetted up here. Going to go find a carwash. I cannot see out my toad's windows. Hit rain off and on yesterday but got here with just a sprinkle then lots of sun and no wind. Coos Bay is known for its wind LOL Only been here one other time that I wasnt blown away.

Anxious to meet all the other peeps coming to the GTG.

YAY Kari you get to come.

Do you guys often stay at the casino? I may head down there in late October.

Yup we do. I love 7Feathers south of Roseburg. The Mill Casino RV Park weather can be fair to middlin' but nice RV park. Spots a tad tight and unlevel. Takes some maneuvering to be level. All their sites slope downhill. Oh yeah its Oregon coast...rain runoff. I had to back up quite far to get level with my auto levelers even. The sewer connection is now umpteen feet away towards the front of the rig. Oh well I will pull forward and dump before I leave. Beth had the same issue so she will dump before she leaves also.
