Monday, Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, Monday

Postby bluepinecones » Mon Sep 16, 2013 7:45 am

Good Morning from near Bean Blossom, IN home of Carol and the Driver.
Have enjoyed a wonderful visit with Carol and Bill. If you are anywhere near Brown County, it is worth taking a detour to meet this delightful couple.
Sitting here drinking coffee and watching a deer graze across the road.
Have a great day and safe travels.

Good Morning from Southern Illinois where it is FINALLY raining!!! It's been over a month and hopefully this will last all day and settle the dust. Sarah, Bean Blossom! wonder who thought up that name for a town and why. I would love to visit Carol and The Driver to hear first hand about their venture down through Mexico and beyond with her family and a friend in a small RV.
I guess there is a bit of excitement around town, Ben Affleck is here filming parts of Gone Girl at Giant City Park. The cast/crew was in Cape Girardeau, Mo last week and have moved here for a week. Also Lynard Skynard was here for a concert at one of the wineries over the weekend. I went to one of his concerts when he was here in the seventies and I think my ears have never recovered!

Good morning everyone. I look forward to seeing Brown Co some day. Weather is pleasant this AM, but gonna get hot this afternoon. We're suppose to get some rain as the sides of Hurricane Ingrid blow our way toward the end of the week. A friend is on a cruise from Galveston to British Honduras this week. I hope they changed the itinerary and steered around Ingrid. Today is another day of sorting, paper work, etc. Not too much more to report. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Finally woke up to sunshine this morning. Guess we're supposed to get drier weather by tomorrow. It's Honey Wagon day! I wonder who will be fighting over that task today?....I usually don't mind it, but doing it in the rain just bites.

Hope you all have a wonderful, Honey Wagon-free day!

Good Morning such a nice cool breeze is blowing... it may get to 70 later... hope we can say goodbye to the 100s ...
Coffee and Oatmeal are gone... my first meal will be delivered this noon... I am anxious to find out if it is any good...
I was so hoping Sarah, Liz and Carol and anyone else that could would drop bye... that would have been a great thing...
But their paths do not cross the mid Illinois area...
I hope to get my moveable steps for the MH painted this afternoon...
Will also see if my car will start... if not I see Barker Motor's in my future... glad my grandson is service manager there...
Be careful on the roads everyone...

Good morning ladies :P not much going on in my end of the world, just
planning stuff for the wedding next month. Bought my shoes, now
need to find some clip on earrings as mine are all for pierced and
my holes have closed up. I still need to decide how I'm going to
do my hair. Lots to think about during my break.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

George and I used to deliver for DuPage County (IL) Meals On Wheels (gov't subsidized home delivered meals for the elderly). Sometimes, people wouldn't be home, so they came back to our house. They weren't bad at all. High carbs, but still had some decent protein.

So sorry I will miss BJ, Kathleen and Mitch on this trip. Can't do it all at once I guess.

I just stopped for the day. Feeling a bit droopy and it is a gray heavy overcast day. I got an unusually late start this morning so decided to make it a short drive day. I'm parked on bank of Ohio River staring at a very old bridge with construction that I must cross in the morning.

Very nice little city park with exceptionally helpful staff; Madison City Park. Spaces are tight but I'm on end so not noticeable. However there is a big drop off just outside my door. No wine tonight, Mitch will have to drink extra glass for me. Actually haven't had any wine the whole trip.

I can see a seafood restaurant up the hill toward town. Think I might try to walk up there this evening if camp host says it is good.

It is 2:45 here, noticed post said 12:45, strange?????

When I was teaching I would help deliver Senior Meals a couple days a month during the summer. The meals were very good and most of the receipients said that there was always enough food for their evening meal too. The heapings were very generous. Heard very few complaints about the quality and when I did it was usually because something wasn't made the way their wife had made it. ;)

I just got back from Lafayette. My son had to bring his car to the shop so I told him I would go get him. Stopped at Academy to see if they had some pants my DH wanted. I knew they wouldn't have any because the ones he got were last year and they change the style every year. He thinks I don't know what I'm talking about. Thought about stopping for lunch but all the parking lots were full and I don't like to eat alone so came home and had a sandwich.

Sarah, glad you got to meet Carol and the Driver. I follow her blog when they are in Mexico. Hope the bridge isn't too scary tomorrow. Some old bridges aren't too tall but if 18 wheelers can pass so can a motorhome. I don't like tall ones. Years ago we went through Tampa with a load of horses and had to cross some tall bridge. You could look over and see where a barge had taken out it's twin. They had changed the one bridge to 2 lanes and traffic was just creeping. I could feel the bridge swaying. I was sure glad to get off that bridge.

They filmed the remake of the Blob in Abbeville and we would go watch sometimes. There wasn't much to see. They would do a scene and them set it up and do it again. It would get boring after a while. In the movie there were mountains and we barely have any hills. My son wanted to know where the mountains were.

It's late again, but I always like to start with this thread because it lets me know where everyone is and what they are doing.

I am sitting in a viewing area overlooking the lake at Cove Palisades State Park in the middle of Oregon. Great view, but I am here because my campground is slightly over the rim of this canyon and I can't get any cell service, and hence no internet. Up here I have 4G with three bars! Yea. End of semester, so I have lots to do. At least it is cool today and I have my windows open and the breeze feels great.

Have to pass on this gtg. I am headed to Crater lake for a couple of days and then to California. I am anxious to see my grand kids and do some doctor visits.

How about planning something for Arizona in February?
