Our MI roaming gang with finish breaking up this morning.
Said good bye to CArol on Wed. as she was off to visit relatives. Liz, Leslie and I headed down to Houghton Lake for couple of nights. Found a nice little PA campground with grassy sites; Nicky and I were thrilled with the grass - first we've found on this trip.
We enjoyed a card game Wed. night and decided to go out for early dinner Thurs. Turned out to be a dangerous excursion as there was a big Camping World Super Store along the way. Of course we stopped leaving them with a chunk of our change.
We were thankful not to be on the road as there was a very stiff wind all day. Liz got some pixs of the white caps on lake; she might share those later. Our dinner destination included Liz's Lounge:
We had a water front table with nice wall of glass to protect us from the wind
There were several interesting tables made from salvaged wood of sunken scooners - Liz photographed them for you.
Dinner was very good (fish) with enough left overs for another meal.
Temps dipped into low 40s last night. I'm waiting for a little warm up (hope anyway) to dump and get on the road to Kalamazoo for tonight. Liz will be headed east to visit friends thru the weekend and wait for CArol to join her. Leslie heading home to clean garage and finalize sale of her house.
For me it had been a wonderful month of exploring new territory with friends and learning so much about the area and Magic. Realized the other day that since mid Jan. I have driven to the FL Keys and the Canadian border - so much more than I ever dreamed I'd make when I bought Magic.
