Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday morning from the Low Country...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Fri Sep 13, 2013 5:39 am

Good morning, all from the Low Country of GA....a pleasant 73F at 6:31 am....am enjoying my coffee and waiting for the sunrise to take Spinner out for a walk....Have been up since 4:45am....but have finished up my reading here and at other locations....Now, it's about time to think about getting a shower, dressed, and be ready to go to do some shopping at Ft. Stewart.....then maybe stop by the CG there to say Hi to the gang.... ;)

Then it's back here to our private, gated site...to relax and enjoy the breeze from the ocean....and maybe some wine, shrimp. and conversation....What a life.... ;) :D

All righty, then...got the coffee going for ya'll....and some orange rolls baked...help yourselves....

Have a great day, all...

God morning Lori & everyone!

Lori, thanks for the orange rolls!

My mother is back in the hospital. She was taken by ambulance Wednesday evening and has pneumonia. I was called to spend the night with my father and I stayed all day yesterday to take care of their daily chores and prepared meals for him. I'll go again this evening and will return home in the morning when their nurse arrives for her daily shift. We are still leaving Monday for a week and I so need some peace and quiet. Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning Lori, Irmi & all to follow :D

Irmi, you need the rest, so I do hope you can get away. So much on your plate lately, & none of it all that tasty :( ...Lori, sounds like you're back to your "normal" self!!!

Ladyhawk, glad you're joining us for MC. Colorado is about washed away--I hope you're safe! Kathleen, I'm sooo happy to hear your news of all the help you're getting so you can enjoy your own home--dang kids, tried to boot you out, but you knew better! ;) Lyn, I think I need to learn from you--& Anita & many others--on how to take things slow! Catherine & I have talked about that--we're both so used to doing the "speed" thing, but mostly out of time restraints. Old habits, hard to break

Somehow, I missed Wed posts, so just caught up. BJ, I also believe in "spirits," so something was going on with those pennies! Not superstitious tho, but hope everybody has a happy Fri the 13th, & be safe wherever you are! 8-)

Good morning all, Lori, sounds like things are getting back to normal routine. Your spot sounds great and Spinner loves those chickens :P Irmi, you need respite for sure. Carolb, are you finished canning??

I survived my bumoscopy yesterday. That part of me has a clean bill of health for another 5 yrs. DH has come down with a cold so I'm sleeping in RED so I don't catch it. So, I'm camping in the driveway. Love it. This morning it is in the 70s and I love laying here with the windows open with the fresh air, cool air!!

DH's son lives in Boulder, CO and bottom level of the split level house is full of water. Their lab thinks its a lake and jumped right in  The DIL is trapped with 100 6th grade students at an Eco camp where she is the camp nurse. But they are all,OK. have big generator and food. Kids still having fun in the mud and rain!!

Everyone stay safe and have a great day!

Good Morning,

Carolb, thanks for the reminder it is Friday the 13th. Today is my younger daughter's wedding anniversary and I wasn't paying attention to the date. They were married on a Friday the 13th.

I haven't typed up anything from yesterday's tour as we got home late, but what a day. We had a new bus driver that didn't have a clue to start the day.

Today we are off to the Statue of Liberty and Little Italy.

Irmi, I hope you do get away. You have certainly had a rough summer.

Rain, rain, go away. Come again in July when we really need you.

Red, the pics from Boulder are unreal. Fortunately, no real flooding at the cg, just WON"T STOP RAINING. We have a wedding here tomorrow too. Will they be the kind of wedding party to shrug off the bad weather?....or get drunk and make us evict them....? Story to follow...

Good Morning All, Wow, orange rolls for breakfast...some day I'm camp'in next to you Lori. Your site sounds devine!
Irmi, You have really had it rough these past weeks. I do hope you and DH are able to get away for some needed R&R.
Red, your poor son & DIL. I feel so sorry about those in Colorado.
Anita, enjoy the Statute of Liberty. Go as high as they will allow you to go. It's a climb but fascinating inside her. I got to the windows in her crown when I was there the last time.
I'm enjoying time with the daughter. We ate at a Indian/Himalayan restaurant for lunch yesterday. Love their food. We patronize restaurants that have outdoor seating so we can take the dogs.
Have a great day everyone, lyn

Good Morning, The cool front finally arrived during the night, hooray!!! Red so sorry for your SIL and her DH! I can't even imagine the devastation. Glad your test was ok yesterday and I know you are happy it's five years before you have another! Irmi you definitely need a rest!! Big hugs to you all.
This morning as DH was taking Winnie out front to make sure she went potty, a fox chasing a chipmunk ran right past the step. Glad it was him and not me I would have screamed!!
Lori, and orange rolls sounds wonderful think I'll have one and then head out and enjoy this cool morning.

Good Morning wow what a difference a day makes very cool this morning in the low 50s... will be cool for several days...

Oh Irmi you and Steve need time away... what a busy time you are having... and not the good kind of busy...

My dentist app was not a good one yesterday... He wants $2,000 to do a partial and pull two teeth... not going to happen... I was always told if I took care of my teeth I would have them all of my life... guess what I did and I do not have them... so floss or what ever does not really help I think it is due to body chemistry more than anything else...

My neighbor is home... she and the guy decided that time was needed before they made the plunge into marriage... good choice finally!!

I see the happy wanderers are heading south again... wow what a great trip they have had...

So sorry for all the flooding in the west...

The Rio Grande is truly looking grand. Water was rushing over the floor of our pier yesterday morning. Entire trees were floating by threatening to hit the pier. The dam just south of us finally collapsed and the water level dropped about 7 feet very quickly. Locals said it hasn't been that high in ages.

Rains continued most of the night and again today very strong. Morning walk with Maggie was shortened as nearby roadway was flooded too deep, dirty and swift to cross. Nearby arroyo flooding has included an adjoining street. The hot, dry summer is becoming a very soggy autumn. Will stay alert to flooding conditions.

Pietown NM pie bakeoff is tomorrow. Had hoped to travel to that area but it is somewhat remote and the pounding rains could make driving dangerous. May have to wait and just go for the local pie on my way to ALB later this month.

Irmi, please take care of yourself. Enjoy some time with Steve. Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from the west coast. Headed up early for another RVing group this weekend. Then will hang out for 4 days and meet at Tugman State Park for our GTG. This will be my second one. Gone from 98 degrees in the Rogue Valley to 65 on the coast. Had to put socks on this morning!

I am about as far west as you can go--bumping up against the Pacific. Got a couple of high school friends coming today, so I spiffed up my place and tucked away all my junk. Did some cleaning also.

Sunday, I also will be headed south, but very slowly. Anxious to see my California grandkids that I have not seen for a year. This year I will spend three weeks with them and then meet them at Disneyland in early January, so that will be fun. Hard to not see these children. Maybe I will drive over and see them in March or so, also. Ohio grandkids will see at Christmas and in April, but they are even younger, so don't really understand where Grandma Grandma went. (They have another grandma, so I am the second one, hence the double name!)

Sounds like everyone is working their way through personal and family health issues. Getting old sure is rough, but as they say, the alternative is worse. Hope it works out for everyone.

Judy, are you going to be @ the GTG next week, Tugman State Park? I'm going to be kicking around on the coast the four days before.

Update on Rio Grande flooding:
After posting this morning, took a walk to see what was happening in the river. Met co-worker who told me to check out the hot springs. Horrified to see that river had reclaimed the 7 ft it dropped yesterday and added about six more feet. The entire pier was under water. The riverside mineral pools were flooded. Our street has been blocked off as the arroyo flooded the area near us making it impassable. Some areas of the town are being evacuated.

My friend called to say her building was being evacuated not due to flooding but the building is cracking. They are worried about a sink hole.

Hope the rain lets up.

Joan, that's scary. How far is this from your campsite? Is there a way to evacuate if needed?
