On the move!!!

Postby mizdeb » Tue Sep 03, 2013 6:39 am

For those who are not Facebook friends just to bring you up to date. I left New Hampshire on the 28th and am taking the first two months to get to my winter workamping job at Quail Run in AZ. I am trying to keep everyone entertained with my blog if you would like to follow along. www.ramblinways.blogspot.com. I just upgraded to windows 8 and a new laptop so I still in the learning curve and posting is running a little slow, but I will get up to speed. Sitting in Lancaster County PA until the 12th spending time with my brother and his family.

Hi Deb, getting any fall colors in PA yet? Wishing you happy trails. If you will be near ALB NM end of Sept, send me a PM and we can have a mini GTG.

Sure wish I was doing the same thing as you, heading out on a new adventure!

That is a great story about finding your brother! What a blessing!

How does Duncan feel about going up and down all those stairs? Pretty tough for a little guy with short legs! Or did you carry him?

Good luck on your adventures!

** I have had "dream visits" from my mom after she passed. It is just their way of letting you know they are still around (altho crossed over fine, but just visiting) and know what is happening in our lives. My mom loved to travel and I feel her with me when I am on the road. I talk to her while I travel too  :D (ie "look Mom, isn't that beautiful?")
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Really like your blog. Have a safe journey west. Is the Quail Run in Quartzsite?

Mizdeb, I just read your blog and found the story of your brother quite timely because I just spent a few days in California meeting a new cousin that was given up for adoption in 1964.

She starting searching last year and found her birth Mom (my cousin who is my Mom's first cousin, so that makes her my first cousin once removed or something like that - making this new cousin a 2nd cousin - I think) early this spring. They talked on the phone for several months before she decided to make the trip to California.

I had a wonderful visit with her and she was thrilled that my Mom and I made the trip "from another state!" to welcome her to the family. She lives in New Orleans so pretty far away from me, but maybe someday I'll get there. She is coming back out west with her husband and two daughters next summer, so I'll get to see her and meet the rest of my new cousins (let's see....her daughters would be 2nd cousins once removed....I think....I guess it doesn't really matter LOL)

Although this wasn't a sibling for me, it was still a great experience.

Enjoy your journey west and I'll be following your blog!

There are Quail Run resorts all over the place but the one I am going to is in Arizona City. Midway between Phoenix and Tuscan. But I will be going to Quartzsite at some point during the winter.. I know Sheila will be there so if you are maybe we can all GTG.
