Good Morning All, Got the car parked out in the street...have three parking spaces ready for my guests in the garage. Got the bar-be-que area all staked out with the dishes and towels. The Giants are in town today so parking will be unavailable from 9 AM on. We have more Giants fans in San Diego than Padre fans.
Donna, sorry about your rain....we could sure use it here.
After today I'm concentrating on getting the Cosy Camper ready for my trip to Oregon!!!
Have a great day all, lyn

Good morning, wishing everyone a "labor free" Labor Day! Not much going on today. Grilled some cheddar stuffed burgers yesterday and Cornish hen for today, what's going on your grill Lyn?

Good morning

Had to get my little heater out last night. It is really cold, wet and windy here this morning. The waves are crashing along shore and have been since late yesterday. Not raining but there is a fine mist in the air. Weather bug says 50 degrees, 98% humidity, and 25 mph wind - feels a lot colder to my old bones. Think sun is to return tomorrow and other than chilly nights, should be nice most of the week.

A surprising number of campers left here yesterday and there has been a steady stream pulling out this morning. The sudden change from summer to winter may have done some in tho there are still several brave tent campers remaining. Not sure how they managed to get such a good fire going in this wind but camper behind me was out cooking breakfast earlier - wind blew that wonderful smell of bacon right at me.

My dad used to say, "On September 1st, God flips the switch from summer to fall", and that sure holds true for us here this year. What a difference a day makes! Definitely a chill in the air today!

Heading into work shortly. Not sure how busy it will be for back-to-school haircuts but we haven't been busy at all yet, so we may get slammed today since school starts tomorrow.

Hope you all have a good day!

Big storm last nite, so today is hot and humid as heck!! I went to Booneville yesterday to the WW and managed to leave a purchase there. Now I have to drive back over there to get it. It's not all that far, about 25 miles, but hadn't planned on going out today. Oh well. At least I didn't throw out the receipt. And I remember the lady that checked me out, she was from Anaheim, Ca and I told her my husband worked there. Hope she's working today. I did ask her if I had everthing and she assured me I did. My fault for not noticing I didn't have the plastic dog food bin until I got home...to much Mickey D's sweet tea I guess! LOL!

Enough whining, hope everyone has a great day!!

Oh Sarah I remember one year going up to lake Superior in Sept... my friend June and I gathered drift wood... we kept going farther out until we were soaked... after a while we were numb to the cold... it was so much fun... with the wind blowing out of the north there will be a lot of drift wood treasures...
Lake Superior never gets warm...
I sure could not do that again at my age!!!

I bet the exodus was more from campers returning home to go back to work tomorrow than the cooler temperatures. It's not too hard to keep warm, even in a tent, with the right sleeping bag and mat. That crispy bacon is an entirely different problem -- not sure how you dealt with that temptation!

Sarah, it sounds as if you are having a wonderful adventure. Missing the day-by-date posts you started when you left home. Hope all is going well equipment wise. I really enjoyed seeing Tina's photos of the UP and cannot wait to hear more when you are down here this winter.

It certainly didn't cool off here. I picked my sister up Friday and we went to the lake. Saturday the heat wasn't too bad but yesterday and today it was close to 100. I was surprised that there wasn't more of a crowd. The fishing wasn't all that great. It was too windy some of the time. I still managed to get too much sun.

When I turned on my desk top computer tonight it bit the dust. My son has been after me to get a new computer. He wants me to get an Apple. I just don't want to learn a new system. My laptop is probably 5 years old and I hate to type on it.

Martha, sorry about your computer. I didn't think I would ever get a Mac but when Windows XP no longer was an option I decided I could learn to use a Mac as easy as learning a new windows system. I've never been sorry, it really wasn't that hard to get used to. I bought a refurbished desktop from the Apple Store on line. Their refurbished has the same warranty as a new one.

BJ, it probably won't be that bad, I started out with an Apple IIC almost 30 years ago. :P Used it to keep the farm books until our house flooded for Rita. That thing just kept plugging along. My desktop had Windows XP so knew I was going to have to get something else.

We had chicken that had been marinated, squash that the Grandsons wife put the most elegant spices on, onions with spices, potato salad, beans, fruit, cake and cup cakes. Lots of beer, and some sodas. I did not do any cooking!!! lyn
