Good Morning... lazy start here... but Donna was here... coffee is hot and will share a cup...

I said good bye to Cindy my neighbor... she was suppose to leave early this morning... but when I let Shadow out her car is still here... she did not answer her phone... not sure what happened... she has gotten rid of most of her things in her mobile home... sure hope everything is ok... without exception we are all worried about her going to meet and marry someone she has never seen... yikes...

wonder where everyone is.. I am getting started late and Donna is the only one on so far...

Have a good day...

Everyone must be sleeping in or on the road this morning!

Was just about to head out the door for work but they called and said not to come in for another hour. It has been surprisingly very slow at work this week. Usually the week before school starts is extremely busy but not this year. Maybe everyone headed up north to cool off from this heat and humidity. I don't mind it being slow tho for now because it gives my ankle more down time to heal. It gets really sore after being on my feet for several hours in a row.

Supposed to get down into the 70's for highs on starting Sunday thru next week, so that will be a big relief! Will be able to shut off the AC and open up the windows at night again. But all too soon, I will need to turn the heat on again  . I need to reserve a garage stall soon for winter again. :(

Have a good day!

Good Morning, Everyone must have started their holiday weekend or have decided to have a late brunch. It is too hot here to do anything outside so I'm trying to talk myself into cleaning out a dresser. I want to get rid of stuff but like Donna, I've having problems with the small items too, do I really need to keep cards and letters I received 20 years ago, Maybe I should keep the letters, soon a handwritten letter will be so rare they will be collectables
This is probably one of those, only in a small town, conversations. Yesterday I had a couple over and while we were talking I mentioned I was having trouble with Toby being aggressive with other dogs, except his little friend Wiggy down the street. They said oh, we know Wiggy he's a sweet little dog, then mentioned Wiggy's 'moms" name.
Guess I had better get busy and quit drawling on the computer. Have a fun day.

Just saw Barbie and Kathleen's posts, Barbie I hope your ankle gets a chance to heal and glad the cool air has reached you, send some down this way! Kathleen maybe someone got through to your neighbor and convinced her she was being totally irrational. No telling what this man might look like or how old he is, surely she realizes many people aren't honest with their information on the dating sites.

Good Morning All, Yes, everyone must be sleeping in, or traveling for the big weekend. Barbie, hope that ankle is getting better. I saw some blurbs on Yahoo yesterday about the Minnesota State Fair!!! Looked like lots of fun. Sorry you had to miss it.
I have been to the CA St Fair a couple of times and really enjoyed it.
Kathleen, don't leave us hang'in...is Cindy OK?!?!?!
No rain here yet...doesn't look like it is coming to the city....very muggy tho, and warm!!!
Donna, loved your blog about the roadside art on Roadside Am.
Have a great day, lyn

I went to the San Diego County Fair the two years I was out there and that was really fun! It is really big compared to our hicktown county fairs around here, and goes for 3+ weeks!

I am wondering if the guy that the woman was supposed to be getting married to, got some sense knocked into him by his friends/family and backed out of the whole thing. I once flew to Colorado to meet a guy I met online two weeks earlier. My dad was furious! It turned out fine, had a nice weekend but no sparks so we didn't pursue it. However, I did fall in love with Colorado and ended up moving to Denver a year later.

I also answered a personal ad in a Santa Barbara newspaper some 30 years ago and we wrote back and forth for a year before I flew out to meet him. No sparks but we had fun and became friends. I moved there a year later and stayed with him and his roommate until I found a job, a car, and a place to live. He is now married with 2 kids and lives in Carlsbad.

Good morning all. I drove RED all by myself and met up with Birdie and spent a great 2 nts over at Somerville lake. Had a great time. I still have so much to learn about all the workings of RED. Now back home, but wishing I was able to continue on to Canyon Lake for the holiday weekend. But have doctor appts today and DH won't go on holiday weekends anymore because of the crowds. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. :P

Hi all,
Mornings seem to last longer here on the West Coast.
Trying to catch up on the news around here - so much going on...

Mitch, continuing to think about you & keeping you in my prayers. Love the new truck!!! My van has running boards at each door - including the side sliding door. Getting in & out of my bro's sprinter van this weekend made me realize what a difference these make.

Donna, congrats on your sale & clearing out. I LOVE your blogs - I think I've told you that before, but telling you again never hurts. :D

Going to hang out with the kids today. They have a wedding in Malibu later on so Sadie & I will be heading over to the beaches for the evening - way too hot during the daytime here.

Tomorrow going down for a couple of days in San Diego with my youngest & her BF. I think my son & DIL are coming too. Looking forward to cooler temps & a being just a block from the beach - especially like the fact that dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 AM & after 6PM each day. Then will head back home Tuesday. Already looking for campgrounds on the way back - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ipad app Allstays - it's been great helping me locate cg & reading reviews before I call to see if they have openings.

Well, we're heading out for a bit...
Later...

Good morning everyone! And it is still morning here in So Cal! It is warm...no, it is HOT here in Long Beach. Just wanted to pop in and say hey, and let you know that I have posted in the Trading Post that FooFoo is for sale. It is with sadness that I sell her, but it is the right thing to do. Thanks and have a wonderful , long weekend!

OK, I know it is not morning still, but the nice thing about being retired is that you can take several hours to get moving in the morning, and that's what I have done today. Actually, I have been online making some schedule changes so I can visit with an old friend from high school and his wife. Actually, we did not socialize in high school, but the advantage of going to a very small school is that you really end up being friends with everyone, and in the last 20 or so years, I have gotten closer to a lot of classmates and their spouses I did not know that well in school.

Today is a rest day after my adventures of yesterday. Supposed to be 0% chance of rain when I left and it was warm, so no rain gear, obviously, and left vents and windows open because no power for AC here. Coming back in shuttle, hail and heavy rain and wind for last 20 miles. Arrived at visitor center--still raining but a little less--so I got on my bike and rode the mile back to campsite. Got soaked and cold because I was only wearing shorts and a t-shirt, and I am not supposed to get my bike wet. Had left windows open, but luckily my bed was dry and only puddle was in bathroom where it rained through the vent.

Temps have really dropped here today. Two days ago it was 86 and today high is supposed to be 76, but I think it will be more like 68--windy and cloudy right now and cool. It is mid-afternoon and people are wearing jackets. Hate to, but got to move and dump tanks this afternoon.
