Getting back on track. . . ;)

What does one need to bring to a GTG in general, and this one specifically? I have never been to a GTG - am really looking forward to it - but I am curious.

What happens at a GTG (for myself, I am in need of some good old-fashioned R&R)?

Thanks.

Anne, the gtg can be whatever you want it to be. Just bring the food that you want to eat and we can figure out if we're going to have a potluck when we get there. You can be as social as you want. If you feel like going back to your rv and just hanging out by yourself you can certainly do that. I do that from time to time myself.

Camping is all about R&R for me so you won't be the only one there with that frame of mind. We don't have an agenda for each day and usually just go with the flow. There is a ride on the dunes for $12 that I plan to go on. They don't require reservations so if we decide to go we can just drive up there and take the ride.

It might rain while we're there (this is Oregon ya know) so that might limit some of the outdoor activities if some don't like being out in the rain. It can be cool on the coast even if its sunny, so a jacket might be a good addition to your wardrobe. I'm pretty sure it won't snow but expect temps at night in the upper 40's to low 50's and daytime temps in the 50's or 60's. It might even get up to 70 but don't hold your breath LOL

Just come on up for some camping and the rest of it will figure itself out.

OK..I'm in for the GTG. I had a hard time getting my reservation to go through but finally got it done this morning. I will arrive on the 21st and I have reserved C-30 spot. (Thanks for the help, Laura). I am excited and looking forward to it. I'm still such a newbie so am hoping to learn from the veteran RVers on this trip. Yes...be prepared for questions, questions and more questions??? This Texan is trying to blend in here in OR and I think it is working. Love it here!!!

Presently, I am staying at the Willamette Wine Country RV Park for a month. I will be meeting up with the "Escapees," who will be coming in on the 15th for 4 days so that will get my feet wet as it will be my first rally. Then I will travel to Florence, South Jetty, for 3 days, prior to the GTG in Lakeside.

Staying at all these different parks is like a box of chocolates. You don't know what you are getting until you get there. Love that part of it and so far I have stayed at 13 different parks since January and never been disappointed.

That's great Judy! I don't think you'll regret your decision and I hope your arm feels okay after all the "arm-twisting" I did :D

Great, Judy! I look forward to meeting you. And like others, I don't mind questions. Just realize - you might get different answers (opinions) from us :) On some issues, hopefully we all agree ...

Hi Judy, Great you will be joining us...I will be your neighbor in C31. I too do not mind questions. One never learns it all, and with the independent women we are, I'm sure there will be lots of discussions and different opinions!!!
I'm leaving San Diego on Sept 7th for my trip to OR. Going to visit friends on the way north. lyn

Is anyone else going to the RVing Women Rally the week before @ North Lake RV? It's about 20 minutes away. I'll be hanging out in the area between the two events. Haven't decided where, yet.

I also will be hanging out at The Mill Casino RV Park from the evening of September 18 to September 21. I decided that would be a lot more fun than South Jetty. It looks like a decent park and lots to do. Where I am now is pretty laid back so I'm ready for a little excitement! :D

Well....you never know. When I was making my drive to Oregon, I pulled off to stay at Seven Feathers for the night because the smoke was so bad around that area due to the Grant's Pass fire. I didn't plan to gamble but needed to get something to eat so went into the casino. Of course, I could not resist. I was only in there for an hour and a half but walked out $300 richer. Paid for my gas that day. Woohoo!
