On the other hand, I think it depends on the batteries. I left my refrigerator running for five days at the Tampa airport while I flew to Ohio, and it was fine when I got back. My batteries were only 1/4 down from a full charge. I did the same thing while I was visiting relatives in Georgia in the mountains for four days, although I did check on things every couple of days.
When I have been dry camping, I found I really seldom needed to run my generator because the batteries did fine keeping my few lights and refrigerator going for 2-3 days without showing any they were down even 1/4. I do use few lights, however, and turn the water pump off when I am not using water. My main battery usage is recharging my laptop and other electronics. I only needed to run the generator maybe an hour every 2-3 days to keep the batteries fully charged when I spent 9 days at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Course it was cool there.
I agree that you probably should empty your refrigerator while it is in storage for more than a very few days. I had no place to put all my freezer stuff and food while I was in Georgia and while I flew to Ohio that Christmas, so I took a chance and it worked out well.
