Potential for FL gtg, October 27-November 8, 2013

I was in the area yesterday and drove through Silver River SP. The park is lovely, the campsites are spacious and there is a museum to explore. Looking forward to checking out some of the trails and the river.

You'll enjoy it. Beautiful park. Two of the winter gtg's have been there (maybe three). I'm one of those who prefer going different places each year - so like when the gtg's move around. BUT it's hard to beat Silver River and Hillsborough for gtg's (IMO), because they have some of the larger sites, too.

I was at the Silver River GTGs two times... oh how much fun... and one of the winters the water froze... oh my that did so much damage to their water system... I wish I could be there but my plans are so uncertain...

All righty----I am booked for site #11 from Sunday, October 27 through Sunday, November 3. I wish I could have gotten a pull-through site, but, all they had in that vicinity were back-ins! You will all have to bear with me while I go through my usual back-up ineptness!

Looking forward to this GTG, and, now that I have some dates, I will have to decide when to leave here to make that event before I get back to my permanent site at my son's in St. Cloud. YAHOO!

What used to be Silver Springs attraction is now part of the State Park, and the Name of the park is being changed to Silver Springs State Park. I read that they are putting in a new kayak/canoe launch at the springs. Not sure yet how that works, if they transport you to the launch or what...will be interesting to see the changes. The Glass Bottom boat rides will still operate, I understand.

As a new member, I was excited to see something I may be able to participate in when I get to Florida. I should be arriving in Port Orange by the end of October .I look forward to meeting and making new friends.
