Friday with Peggy

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday with Peggy

Postby carolb » Fri Aug 09, 2013 6:13 am

Good morning all :D

Yep! Sitting on my front porch, watching the rain, having my coffee WITH PEGGY!
She arrived safely yesterday afternoon. Will sadly be leaving later this morning...

So we've caught up on the happenings here, & are very very happy to hear of Lori's results!

And now that we have limited time this morning, Peg says "hi, I'm sitting here with Tigger on my lap--I've been taken over" --& yes she has been, I have the picture to prove it!l..Anyway, back to our visit since she'll be leaving shortly :(

'all have a great day & safe travels always! 8-)

Good Morning Carolb and all who follow,

Been absent from here all week, so trying to play catch up. Lots' of posts to read yet. But the first trip out with my new TT was a success. Weather was great except for Wednesday when a cold front blasted through in the wee hours of the morning and dropped torrential rain which was followed by very gusty winds for the remainder of the day. Those who were camped on the lakeshore across from me, had to batten down the hatches in order to keep from being blown into the next county  And I had water on my site, mostly where my trailer was parked, from the heavy rain. So was doing a bit of wading myself. My shoes are still drying

Have so many posts to catch up on here, but did make a quick skin of some last night. Best news of the morning is Lori's results. So very glad to hear that and also am overjoyed to read that Kathleen is going to be able to stay in her home and best of all, is getting her Shadow back :D I am so happy for both of you.

Also sounds like the Ruckus is going great. Haven't looked at the pictures as yet. And Sarah is coming to MI. Great. Now hopefully I will be able to meet with those of you who are coming, Carolb to be the exception as I have an eye exam the day she will be "flying" through MI.

Determined that either a new tow vehicle is going to have to be arranged or the new TT is going to have to be sold despite just buying it as my current Flex is not that capable of towing the thing. Getting a bit of rear wheel slippage which is not good at ex-way speeds and also transmission needs to do more shifting on the inclines than it normally would without the trailer. So will be working on that issue in the future. First might get the hitch system checked out as my friend found out hers wasn't set up right. Need to find a good hitch man around the area.

But need to get moving this morning. Chiropractor apt and then off to one of our biggest local craft shows of the year :D But not planning on spending too much green as the pocketbook is getting empty.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Awwww! Give her a hug for me....and keep one for yourself!

Thunderstorms predicted for today, we've had a chance every day I've been here in NC! And it usually comes thru as promised. I actually kind of enjoy it, helps to cool things off for a while and doesn't seem to make it any more humid than it already is. I've really enjoyed my stay here at this cg even tho it's miles from anything. I don't mind driving, it's what I tow a car for! LOL! Williamsburg was yesterday, not what I expected at all. Interesting, tho.

Oh Kath, so glad to hear that Shadow is coming home!! Made my day to read that! Woohoo!!!

Back to the Strand today, south to Hatteras and checking out some cg's. If I ever win the lottery I'm buying a place in Duck on the sound side! I don't know why, but I just loved it there! 2nd choice would be Tybee Island....close to the Crab Shack! LOL!

Good Morning... hope to see a post about Lori later... looked there first... it is such a blessing to know our sisters have our back!

Did anyone know I lost 10 years this week! at least that is what it has felt like... I am getting more sleep each night up to about 6 hours now... one more day and you will hear me all the way to the Ruckus...
Oh Sue the truck issue does not sound good... not sure much about that as I have not towed since the '80s...

I got some huge heavy bags from Menards so I can start cleaning out the shed... it seems if I do not do what my children want I am totally on my own... glad I found that out before things went farther... Margie told me there will be no sale of the things I do not need... it would be so good to get rid of them... maybe the lady from Path will have an idea...

You know Sue it is very hard to catch up if you are gone for a few days... I know that for sure...
Take care everyone

Good Morning All, Kathleen, that's great about getting Shadow home with you....and your kids?!?!?! Whats with that? Anyway, I'm happy for you getting to stay in your own home.
Sue, that wasn't very good news about the Flex. Hope the hitch people will be able to help solve the problem.
I'm still in the process of "cleaning" after the camping trip. Got all the clothes washed now need to vacuum the "cosy camper".
Have a Great Day, lyn

Just a quick check in this morning - too much to do and I'm moving too slow.

More good news this morning. Late husband's nephew called early. He is the proud papa of twins - one each, boy and girl. Mom and babies doing fine in spite of babies arriving a few weeks early.

Gotta run. Drop Nicky off for bath and go check to see if all okay with Magic for trip.

Have a good day.

Good morning all, more clouds here today but I'm glad it holds the temps down even more. Sue, I was worried your Flex wouldn't be strong enough for the trailer. Whoever sold it to you should have pointed it out, and if they didn't, the people who did the rest of your hitch should have known and mentioned it. :( I thought you said the lease would be up soon so hopefully you can keep the tt, you would really loose $$ if you sold now.
Kathleen so happy for you but sorry about your children, maybe you could get a church group that collects things for people in need to come and get the things you want to get rid of, or maybe a shelter. Be sure to send anything your kids might want. :)
Good to hear Carol and Peg are having a visit even if it is short. Sharon I would love to go all the places you mentioned this morning!
My nephew sent me this funny story about the Lone Ranger this morning and I thought it was hilarious. Can just picture the hair!

And this story in our morning paper gave me chills even though I've heard a lot of similar experiences in the Metaphysical/Hypnosis classes I've taken. I think this woman's guardian angel arrived just in time.

I woke up this morning at 8am to the very loud sounds of a diesel engine. I looked out my bedroom window and was shocked to find a very large diesel pusher just 4" from the rear corner of my motorhome! This did not make me happy, so I opened all of my blinds and made sure they could see me staring out. This is a very tight campground and they were hooking up to a very large vehicle hauler trailer that they use to pull their car. Couldn't they have hand-pulled the trailer a couple of feet so they wouldn't need to get so close? They were really hanging over into my spot. Anyway, they made it without scratching anything.

I did better last night staying warm sleeping. My rear furnace is not working and it drops to mid-30s here at night. The front one is fine, but the rear one just does not ignite. The blower turns on and runs for a few seconds but then shuts off. I have a couple of extra down comforters that I bought just for this situation, so I dug one of them out the night before. What I really need is something to blow the front air to the back.

It has been raining here since yesterday afternoon. I was going to go to West Yellowstone and Old Faithful today, but I think I will just pack up around 2 and head for Old Faithful only. It is supposed to stop raining by then so maybe I can take some photos. I have a live student practice session at 5 today so I need good internet access, and the signal I have now is not the best, so I will park somewhere closer to the cell tower for an hour to get that done. Nothing like having 20 students online and having the instructor not being able to get in! I have told the college I will have good internet, somehow, so that's what I have to do.

Judy, I have a small ceramic space heater that I got at Walmart. It does a great job of heating my 26 footer. I tend to use it instead of my rig heater.

So cold in August!

Those that have been there all understand wanting to be close enough to frequent the Crab Shack.

Actually, when Karen and I were fooling around in our kayaks at Tybee Island we talked to a gal on a paddle board that was going over there by way of water....we weren't sure of her directions or we would have gone, too! The best of both worlds! Work off the calories kayaking against the tide, eat a plate of crab and shrimp and kayak back. :D
