FedEx - Grrrrrrr...

I've been having a lot of trouble with FedEx SmartPost delivery on my last few orders. Very frustrating. I wonder if this has anything to do with it? This is the route being taken for the solar stuff I recently ordered:

1) Pick up by FedEx at solar store

2) FedEx shipping to

3) My house

Reminds me of the time I was trying to get home to Detroit from Atlanta and they wanted to route me through Denver.

WOW :o FedEx is normally pretty efficient. Normally it would go to a hub like Dallas, TX and then to a hub like Memphis, TN and then out to your local FedEx office and your house.

This might help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FedEx_Ground

Oh look at the bright side. The items will all ready be seasoned travelers by the time you finally receive them. ;)

Mitch - I deal with FedEx, SmartPost, UPS, & USPS thru my work. Although SmartPost is a service from FedEx, shipments are actually routed thru a FedEx center and then thru the good old USPS. So depends on how fast snail mail is to your area.

Mitch - Was it from Amazon? I ordered Streets & Trips and it shipped FedEx, but arrived in the USPS mailbox. Must've been the SmartPost offshoot from FedEx.

And... What are you getting? Going solar on the roof?

Getting things here in Valdez, the post office does the best - and it's still crazy. UPS actually put something for me on a truck delivering to restaurants, etc out of Anchorage ... that was funny.
