Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday waiting

Postby carolb » Thu Aug 08, 2013 7:10 am

Good morning all :D

A day of waiting...Lori, prayers for you & look forward to a good report from Tina (thanks for planning that so we aren't all waiting in the dark!)...& waiting for Peg to arrive later today :D

In the meantime much to keep me busy. House cleaning, lunch with cousin, & more training with poopers. Got the yard work done yesterday, as it's to rain today. Nasty flooding in the midwest--hope any of our peoples there are safe...

So that's it from me...Hope y'all have a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good Morning Everyone !!! Great news in yesterdays post wonderful to hear. Lori, thinking of you this morning, knowing all will go well for you. Thanks for having Tina relay info to us, as we will all sure be waiting to hear. Kathleen, your buddy is coming home, oh happy day !! I'm sure you will feel better just having him back. I'm glad things are working out for you, now if that pain would only leave.

Going to storm here this afternoon, so setting here at computer and found out a lot of things  :o !!! I am so far behind, may never catch up. I usually try to wait later in the day, as I have so much to do here and don't want Sat. to be a huge work day. Hoping weather will be decent for Sarah and I Sunday as we are heading out and away from here for awhile. Nothing seems to be going to well for either of us. But I'm leaving, and think she is too, regardless

Today is one of my grandson's 18 th birthday, he got a truck yesterday, not sure, but probably for his birthday. Also he has a job and had to use my daughters vehicle or she took him, picked him up routine and she was tired of it. (hmm I remember several yrs doing that for her,) Its a sharp truck and I'm praying he drives safely !!!

Well, Maggie, says its time for our pills, and I need to get moving. All on the road safe travels and those wishing to be patience  JanetA, so happy to see you finally have your MH, nice. Also was glad to see solar discussion in Maint. as I have been interested and nosey as to how they work etc. etc. I do boondock a lot, but not sure about it for me. The way gas is going and the yrs I might have left to travel, think I probably will pass and use my money for gas, but still like to know all I can before ruling out. Always so much to learn on this forum, beside the friendship and news of interesting things others are doing.

I'm still here, wasn't I going to get off of here ?????   Have a great day,
CArol :)

Good Morning Carol and CArol, and all who come later. I'm thinking of Lori this morning and I'm keeping her, Ernie and Spinner in my thoughts and prayers. I too am glad Tina is going to update us.
Carol I hope you enjoy your visit with Peg, your puppers can have a chance to practice their good behavior. :)
Not much planned today, DH hurt his back trying a new machine at the gym and is wishing he had stuck to his regular routine. He isn't going this morning so I know he is hurting as he normally goes six day a week.
I had an email from my friend who is working at a fishing lodge in Alaska this summer. She said she had a few hours off an went fishing with one of the other workers. They have to be up by 5:30AM every morning to serve breakfast and she was really tired that day so she took a nap on the gravel bank, the friend was fishing nearby. She said she woke several times to a bear splashing around on the far bank of the river (about 20ft away) but could never understand it enough to wake up fully. When she woke properly her friend told her that that same bear (who was gigantic) had come up beside her and was sniffing around her about 2ft away!! The friend didn't want to wake her in case she was "startled" She said startled would be a very mild form of what she would have been to wake to a bear in her face!
ACK, can you imagine!!
I was so happy to see Kathleen post yesterday that Shadow is coming home!!

Good Morning All, I too am awaiting news on Lori's surgery. Thanks in advance to Tina for supplying it to us. I enjoyed all the pictures from the Ruckus. I've enjoyed Judys reports on Yellowstone. I have been there twice..once in a car and once riding in a big bouncing vehicle for a xc ski trip. I hated the snow mobiles and their noise...snobby xc skier me.
I loved the pups pictures, Tina. Keep all the news flowing to us who are staying home at the moment. Hi to Carolb and to Catherine. I'm expecting reports from you both when you leave on your journeys. lyn

Cold morning and I am waiting for it to warm up a bit so I can take a bike ride. All the tenters with their huge families have packed up and left, so it is just a few motorhomes until they hit again tonight. It was extremely noisy here yesterday late afternoon with what looked like a couple of family reunions--several families traveling together. Somebody bought at least two of the kids those popper things and they popped them for maybe two hours. Amazing the attention span kids can have when they are doing something irritating! Those are the kinds of things I buy my grandkids so they can irritate their parents.

I had a rough night because my rear furnace it not working. Instead of one larger furnace, I have a small one in the front and one under my bed that heats my bedroom and the bathroom. Mostly I use my little electric heater when I have power. Last night, the rear furnace, which has a separate thermostat I can reach from my bed, kept going on, but then turning off within 10 seconds. I got out of bed several times and felt air blowing, but no heat in that air. Luckily, I have extra down comforters under my bed, so I got one out and used that to keep warm. I'll be fine for a few days but will need to find out why it is not igniting, since Glacier will be really cold in three weeks! It dropped down to 36 here last night.

Off to see the visitor center today.
