Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday

Postby carolb » Sun Aug 04, 2013 6:32 am

Good morning all :D

Woke to the sound of gentle rain & a beautiful red glow to the entire eastern sky! Everything that was white--my HarBor, houses, lawn furniture, etc--reflected a gorgeous shade of rosy-pink! Wow, if I were a camera person, it would have been a Kodak moment to capture! Hope it's not the "red sky in morning, take warning" thing

I just may have a day of rest 8-) . Got all house & yard work done over the past couple days. Nothing on schedule (no Ruckus for me today  ) except a cook-out at my cousins this afternoon. Don't know if bro will be here this morning for our usual bro/sis day. Will do some serious training with the poopers again. For those of you who have experienced my dogs--whether the two or now three--you'll be glad to know I've really been working with them on better behavior

Yeah Red & Sarah--a gtg! Yep, that's a devoted (or desparate  ) forum sister who'll drive 4 hrs for an afternoon gtg! Dang if y'all aren't the best--& I know from first-hand experience, being welcomed all across the US! If I had a penny for everytime one of my non-rv friends say "wow, what a great life you have with your rv," oh, yes, I'd have gas money for the rest of my life! But the real "wealth" is having all the sisters in my life!

G'grief, being philisophical this a.m. Well, it's Sunday, so I'm counting my blessings :P

Y'all have a great day, & those on the road, be safe always! Ruckus people, watch out for "the recipe"

Hi Carolb and Lori and all to follow. Lori, what a beautiful wedding. Let's hear it for backyard weddings. Carol, I know what you mean. I was so frustrated that I couldn't get away and go visit the sisters that were in the area. I was so genuinely pleased that Sarah came over for a short visit. We are now on our way home, but all I want to do is continue traveling. I want to be at the GTGs.

We made it down to Jackson, MS yesterday. Staying at a really neat state campground right in Jackson right off the 55. But there is no way you'd know your in the city. Lefleurs Bluff state park campground. I love the place. Beautiful lakeside spot. But DH doesn't like it ;) Can't get satellite through the trees. At least Sprint has strong service here so he could use my phone's hot spot. In the long run, it was kinda fun sending the night watching the ME channel and all the old TV shows front the 50s and 60s.

Tyler kept waking me up to go out. But when we got out he was so distracted by the very loud sound of the night critters that he wouldn't do his business. Out at 11 pm, midnight, then finally he was successful at 4 am  I love the sounds at night. However, I have to admit, it would be difficult to carry on a conversation over the competitive singing going on at this lake

We haven't decided if we are headed west toward Shreveport or south to highway 10 yet. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Wonderful morning Carol, Lori, Red and all to follow when they wipe the sleep off their eyes.

Carol, wish you were a camera to capture and share that sunrise. What's going on with the puppies? I have a combo here, one I can trust with small dogs, the other with people. Always fun, but that's why we have leashes.

I'll check out the wedding pics in a bit, I'm sure they are lovely though.

Cooking up some breakfast on the grill, got lots of yard work to do, still have a mountain of dirt to be spread from Pluto's landing pad. Can't believe next week my boys in blk & gold will be playing. Go Saints!

Red, can you see if the cg discriminates against dobies? That would be close enough for a weekend getaway.

good morning ladies
have no idea what I'm going to do today, its usually my kickback and relax day but somehow I feel I need to do something. Guess
I have anxiety with school starting up and all the unknown factors involved. Probably be a good time to go through old papers
again and do some shredding. Somehow being destructive helps with the anxiety, or at least I think it does cause it feels good.
Gonna be another hot day, 100 by noon and 104 by dinnertime.
Cereal for breakfast today and I'm gonna put on another pot of coffee. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning ladies, I visualized that sunrise, Carolb, must have been something !!! I won't fuss about no pictures, as I have not tried or know how to put pictures on here. When those who know, fuss, I think, I don't need that aggravation, so no fussing or pictures from me. They are always so nice to see, and I thoroughly enjoy.

I should not be setting here, but thought I should say good morning to all, I've been a wee slack in it lately. I plan to leave for Mi, end of next week, so no telling how much I might get online to wish you all a good day. Possibly more then I have lately, do not know

Ava, you tickled me saying destruction helped you feel better. I never realized it, but maybe that's why I get so much satisfaction in tearing up and throwing stuff out :o

I have a number of things I want to finish today, as usual will only get half done. Mornings, I feel like I will be able to do so many things, by noon, I know I am not going to get the whole list done, evening, I am disappointed in my thinking the day was long enough to do all I thought I would and could do  :o :?

Better get at it, have a great day all, its beautiful outside here. Think I better start my list with making the bed up and putting some things away in RV and also running Gen.

Those on the roads, be safe, and happy travels to all of you. Don't rush so much you miss what you're passing by,

CArol :)

Lori, the wedding was beautiful, and I loved the colors the ladies had on in one pic. I want those colors, too, but can't find to fit or no messages on front. Still lookin'

Good morning from beautiful NC! Parked in a cg in the middle of basically, no where! LOL! Nearest town that has a grocery is 15 miles away and you had better have fuel in your rig and toad before you get here! LOL! It's so nice here, tho. An hour to Virginia Beach and 2 to Williamsburg. Tomorrow is the Strand and Kitty Hawk. We're thinking 2-3 days for the Strand and then hopefully we can do Williamsburg and Jamestown in 1 long day. If not, that's what we have cars for, we'll go back.

Crab fest here this w/e....15 bucks got us pizza and salad buffet Thurs nite, Blue crab buffet last nite and pancakes and saus this morning. What a deal! Raining right now...again. Lots of rain on this trip, but it's helped to keep the heat down. We're trying to figure out if we want to go into Elizabeth City or blow up the kayaks and hit the pond here. It's not much of a pond and there's not much to look at, but it's fun to just go out and float around.

Chris, I vote for Shreveport, one of the casinos there has a great buffet and it's free if you get a players card.

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday, travel safe and have a great day!

Good Morning all
I've gotten behind here with some electronics issues (computer, TV, etc not on their best behavior).
I just posted the 2 photos I was able to get while visiting with Red in Red Bay.
Sitting here trying to convince myself that MI trip is not total insanity as I am so far behind on other things. Will go check on Magic later today.
Sharon, you sure have been eating well on this trip.
Love the wedding. Need to go catch up a bit on other happenings.
Have a safe day.

Good Morning ladies... second cup of coffee here and had a bran muffin... CarolB sometimes word pictures are the best then each can see it differently... then again some have the knack of taking pictures and the words to go along... I like both ways...
Thanks Lori for the memories! and those pictures were great!
Oh Ava I remember those days before the school got into full swing... you have driven way way more years than I did... I do hope you get the monitor you want... that was the downfall I had was a bad monitor... when you drive 3,4 and 5 year olds you need a good watchful eye on your bus... good monitors usually do not stay longer than a year...
My crazy steroid reaction is fading slowly in the west...
Can't keep up with you busy ladies...
take care

Hi Sarah so you were the one posting at the same time I was... good to see you...

WE'RE GOING CAMPING! WE'RE GOING CAMPING! Okay, actually we went to a parking lot rv park a couple of weeks ago, but this week it will be in an actual state park...with TREES!!!

Got a pm from Chris that they would be at the casino in Kinder tonight, but I'm packing and doing laundry today, so no mini gtg this trip. :(

Martha and Carolyn, we are going to Palmetto Island State Park, if yall are in the area and have time to stop in. Reservations start Monday night and the plan was to leave on Saturday, but I saw yesterday that they are having a Dutch Oven thing on Saturday. We are bringing Ronnie's 17yo niece with us, so how that all goes, will determine if we decide to stay another night.

Hello everyone. It's still barely morning here. I left my (second) summer volunteer gig last week and returned to my desert home in southwest Utah.

It was SO unseasonably hot at the state park (10 degrees above normal) where I was volunteering that my dog and I ended up mostly sitting in my air-conditioned "tin can" when I wasn't visiting briefly with my married co-hosts or chatting up campers. Then I began having breathing problems and was suffering from lack of exercise. So I figured if I was going to deal with hot weather, I'd rather do it from my beautifully air-conditioned 1500 square-foot house rather than the 250 square-foot "tin can."

Major cabin fever.

I'm so tickled to be home and my breathing has returned to normal. There are all kinds of activities in my 55+ community, plus a fitness center and a wonderful saline outdoor swimming pool. Annie can run free in the community dog park. I find that it's amazing that I can sit on my patio in 95-degree temps. Heat feels different here, like a comfy blanket (up to a point!).

Oh boy, I'm going to get to see Vickie and Ronnie. The park is only about 5 miles from my house. Probably only a mile as the crow flies but there is a bayou between here and there so have to go around. I'm not sure how much a 17 year old is going to like it because you are really in the woods. There is a splash pad but it's usually younger kids playing on it. You are in luck, they just sealed the roads so it's not so dusty.

We went to the first dutch oven cookout and it was good. My DH even went which surprised the you know what out of me. He probably grew up with most of the members. I missed the second one because I was going to Florida.

There's nothing wrong with Carolb's poopers except they're exuberant. They were making me nervous for her with all the leads wrapped around her. The first thing I would do would be fall on my head.

Sharon, you really are eating good on this trip. I'll have to remember to bring my big clothes if I get to follow you on a trip.

I know this is way past morning, but I have no cell service, and thus no internet, at my campsite here in Yellowstone. Had to go to Lake Lodge and pay for 24 hours. Will have service in a couple of day, but no power as I am moving from full hookups to none, but at least I will have cell service there.

Made the mistake of cooking bacon last night which smelled up my whole vehicle--nice, considering that the campground is in grizzly country and there are strict rules for garbage and food storage and you must have a hard sided RV, but I figure I did not want to take chances with my flimsy walls so I really scrubbed the range hood and stove and dishes. Aired it out also.

Have not had time to catch up on everyone, but will do that on Tuesday.
