Saturday before Sunrise

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday before Sunrise

Postby dayspring39 » Sat Aug 03, 2013 4:55 am

Good Morning... I have been reading and catching up on posts... Lori so glad your surgery has been moved up less anxiety... and the summer backyard wedding will be a much more memorable time for these young people... they will carry through life the love you all shared on their day... oh please post pictures....

my prayers are with you and Ernie as you go through this next week...

I heard the tap tap of rain drops on my sky light in my bathroom during the night... does not seem to be raining now... my grass has not been mowed in several weeks... no growth... saves me the money... yea yea yea...

My injections went ok and the doctor also took a look at my hip joint... he does the injections under x-ray I am asleep enough to not remember anything... now doing the ice pack thing every few hours... cannot sleep but that is the steroids that he injected... he had to put more in because the last injections a couple of weeks ago did not work on the right side...

Hope I can drive today and go to the Bloomington Fruit market... need fresh vegetables and fruit... I found my juiceman juicer and am going to start juicing mornings... I did feel better when I did that and the juices are so good..

my eating program got snagged in May and I have not been following it since then so I must get back on the wagon... have not gained any of the minus 25 lb so that is good...

Wow am reading about all of the great GTG are going on... hope every one has fun and keeps us posted...

My grandson Tim and my daughter are coming over Tue evening and emptying out the shed... ah the dreaded shed... the boys will get most of the good things like ladders etc as I can never use them... I am bribing my grandson to use the extension ladder to wash the skylight and clean the gutters then he can have both ladders extension and step... he would gladly do it with out anything but he might as well have them...

The garage sale wlll be in three weeks 22,23 and 24th hope they can sell the bulk of my things... I simply hate to have them just given away...

I trust you all are having a great day...
Kathleen

Good morning, Kathleen & all who follow.

Thanks for all your kind words about Sierra. Funny how quiet the house seems without her & Sadie has lost some of the lessons she learned - like going into the grass to do her business. She's decided the deck is good enough - at least it's outside - argh! Someone at work said she was probably kenneled most of her life so she doesn't know the finer uses of grass. We'll be working on that... ;)

So much going on here... :D
Lori, hooray for your news! Will be thinking of you next Tuesday - soon that will behind you also.
Irmi, praying for the right decision for you...
Sue, so sorry about your friend's husband - just shows how life can turn in a minute. Glad you're getting in on some GTGs though - enjoy!
Ava, hope all goes well on your route & aide... will be waiting to hear how it all goes this week.
Tina, the puppies are soooo cute - the bowls are pretty special too. Maybe you've hit on a new marketing idea.. :)

Next couple of weeks will be busy around here - daughter & fam coming in town later this week & getting travelin' van ready for next big trip. Might be looking for who might be along my route (once I figure it out) to see if there are any mini-GTG's to be had. Really looking forward to having a fun time with the original 8 sibs at my baby brother's wedding - Samish Island, WA will never be the same.   My main objective of this 5000 mile trip besides getting from point A to point B is learning to "enjoy the journey". :)

Well, taking the Honda in for some maintenance this morning & then running around the rest of the day - have checklist, will follow...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Kathleen, how do you go weeks without mowing ? I'm having to do that twice a week right now, when we get to October, I'll start getting a break.

Good Morning Kathleen, BayouLady, Catherine and all those who follow,

So nice to see you start the coffee this morning Kathleen. But I do have a question. When did we get a 34th day in the month? Now I would love 34 days in a month especially in summer, but not so much in winter. I hope the shots work out for you this time. also hope you garage sale is successful.

BayouLady, I don't cut my grass as often this time of year either. In fact, it's been a week since I last cut it. Early in spring and early summer, I can be doing it twice a week, but this time of year it slows down and with the recent hot weather we had a week ago, it has also burned up. Now with the recent rains, it's greening up again. May mow tomorrow before I leave on my camping trip.

Catherine, envy you on your 5000 mile trip. Hope you have a wonderful time. I know Christine is out in WA, so might want to put her on your mini GTG list. My Tessa was also good for "P"ing on my deck in winter. In summer she would go out on the grass, but she never did her big job on the deck at all. Guess she figured that a snow covered deck was no different that a snow covered yard  She was kennel raised but they also have a nice fenced in yard to run around in. I know the feeling of it being too quiet around the house. I'm feeling the same thing here too. Ms. Sassy has lost most of her hearing, so she's not barkin gat anything. And being older, she sleeps more too.

Mini GTG day from me today. Meeting Louise (havingfunnow) up in Mackinaw later this morning. So am going to be heading out in a bit here. It's an hours drive roughtly from here and I want to get on the road. Going to be a perfect summer's day for being up there too. Must remember camera.

So with that in mind, I am going to wish you all a wonderful Saturday. Those heading for Soos' Ruckus, stay safe on the road. Hope you all have a great time, which I know you will.

Good morning all! :D

Hey, Kathleen, I'll be in your area for the garage sale--how much for that beautiful MH sitting in your drive??? Hip feeling better???? Hope so..

Mowing! Yikes, this year with all our rain, I've been mowing every 2-3 days too! But it's so beautifully green & I get my work-outs--takes me almost 2 hrs (walk-behind mower). I like this much better than drought years when we have brown grass interspersed with green weeds!

Things get rolling this week! Ruckus, Peg's visit, & just a week from today, caravaning with Peg & Liz! And Lori, all prayers going out for your surgery! Catherine, when do you leave for your big trip? Ava, back to work means you're getting closer to retirement! Glad you got the route you wanted....

Bro decided that his "cold" must be sinus problems, but I'm still taking precautions with extra Vit C & zinc. Now would not be the time for me to be sick

Off for another cup of coffee & then to MOW! Y'all have a great day! 8-)

Good morning everyone. We are finally leaving Red Bay. Will return again in De (on our way back from our 2 week Disney World adventure) for them to repair the damage they did to our dash while installing the switch for the steering stabilizer among any other issues that should arise between now and then :x

I was so happy to have a mini gtg yesterday. Sarah (Bluepinecone) drove over from the Huntsville area (4+ hrs RT) to meet up and have lunch. The service techs had just finished with RED. So we moved RED across the street to the Detail Depot and had her washed. Sarah and I enjoyed chicken salad sandwiches and got to know each other while we watched them wash RED. Pictures on the GTG thread. It was so special to have a sister drive so far just for a mini gtg. I feel so blessed. :P

I just got finished unhooking and stowing everything. Just have to close the slides and off we go!! We'll hop on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tupelo and drive and explore till we are too tired.

Everyone have a great day. Stay safe. Aloha y"all

good morning ladies, feels like it should be noon but its barely after 9. I've been up getting stuff done and googling all kinds of stuff. Also
looking at the map and seeing how long it would take me to get from point a to point b ect. you know...part of the dream. I have to admit
I think between Phoenix and Houston, there seems to be a whole lot of nothing and a very long drive. Sure hope there are "pockets" in
there that have some trees at least, but regardless, its on my trip plan.
The inservice meeting was of course boring as predicted but they did have one demonstration that was about 20 minutes that was fun.
They had the drug sniffing dog come in and do a demo. Nice dog, Belgian Malinois, :D .
Talked to my friend Lyn who was my aid last year for part of the year, she was new but had transferred over from one of the schools.
The dept tried to make her believe she was at the end of the seniority list, and I told her NO, her seniority transfers as well and to
go to admin. She did and she found out she would be #2 on the list for bus aides. No problem that she will get to be my aide if she
picks me. The plan is that she is going to pick me but then ya never know when some people might change their minds. Won't know
how that turns out until after lunch on Monday.
They are really picky with our daily time this year telling us we can't do more than 6 hours a day. My 6 does not include a mid day
run so if they need a wheelchair bus for mid day that would give me more hours. But the question is, will they let me. We will see.
Now my thinking goes like this.....if I haven't picked up something extra thats approved by Nov, I'll go over to soc sec and check
the figures on my social security for Feb and weigh the difference against waiting until I'm 65. I'm allowed a certain amount per
year in additional income before I'm penalized so we will see. Other drivers that have done this say they have never gone over by
only working the 6 hours a day and the difference between 62 and 65 was only $50.
Ok, my brain is overdrive right now so gotta step back, slow down and get the laundry done. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.
Sure wish I was doing a gtg with ya's somewhere :D but another time and it will happen.
Somewhere with Ava and Maggie

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON TO YOU ALL!

Finally got groceries put away, shelter swept and sort-of organized, party barn ready for action, and now am getting ready to cross the mountain for a free music concert in Jay---Roy Hurd----one of my favorite singers from this area. Richard and my neighbor Issy, are going with me.

Going to tie new surveyor's tape streamers from trees at end of driveway on way out of here in a half hour. Then will make chicken salad early tomorrow morning, sit back, raise my legs, and wait for the GTG group! I can't wait!

I forgot that the Can-Am Rugby Tournament is going on in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, and Bloomingdale this weekend, soo you all might find the roads a bit crowded on your way through those places! I don't think anyone would be thinking of coming across the Franklin Falls bridge, but that is also closed. Most will just find traffic and tight spots due to road parking for the tournament.

Safe travels to all who will be raveling tomorrow!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
