Sandy,
Go to this link... http://www.welburngourdfarm.com/

It is a gourd farm in Southern California. You can buy gourds on line from them in many shapes and sizes, and they have on line videos showing how do different techniques and projects. They sell everything you need to make the projects with (tools, dyes, patterns, etc), plus books, etc.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Thanks Barbie! Looks really interesting.

I have been there a couple of times when I lived out there. Took a class for a Christmas Gourd project. Was really fun! Would love to do more of that someday.
The gourds they have come in "cleaned" and "not cleaned". The not cleaned ones need to be scrubbed (a lot!), and it takes a long time, so I would recommend paying a little more to get the cleaned ones, especially if you have any mold/dust allergies.

Wonderful work. I loved the leather work.

I will second Wellburn Gourd Farm. I went there for one of their festivals and bought a few unfinished gourds. I would definitely recommend getting the cleaned gourds, what a pain to clean. Their gourds are very thick and are high quality and take beautifully to paint, dye and burning. I would imagine, the scratch art technique would be easily adapted to the gourd as well.

Thanks for sharing your artwork with us. Linda
