Some Good News Friday for You all...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Fri Aug 02, 2013 4:53 am

Good morning, all.....The wildlife here had Spinner barking at 5am so hence I'm up and doing the coffee thing.... ;) So since I am, I'll start the Coffee thread today....

My good news is that after blood tests and a thyroid uptake (more radio-active stuff... I presently glow in the dark.... ) All came back "Negative" :D :D No hot spots on the thyroid and the thyroid panels are within normal range....so we can check that off the "issues' list...I just have a weird shape thyroid...go figure.. ;) Also my surgery has been moved up to 10:30am next Thursday (Aug. 8th)....so I won't have to do the "fasting thing" as long as was thought before surgery...and getting it done earlier makes it easier on Ernie and the family, too.... ;)

Today we are helping set up for my niece's wedding on the farm tomorrow.....it's a little crazy cause she hasn't planned much or let folks know what she wants, but we'll all go with the flow and do our best for her special day....the couple doesn't have much $$$ to spend on things, so we're all pitching in....Ernie & I are giving the "cake" as our gift to them....I haven't done cakes in about 10 yrs. so went to the local Walmart and ordered a small layer cake and about 50 cupcakes....as her guest list is small....for less than $40.....She has Cake....

Okay, better stop and get the shoes on for Spinner's morning walk....Hope everyone has a great day......Coffee and muffins ready for ya' all....Dig In.... ;) :D

God is answering prayers...so happy for your news on the thyroid, Lori. I'll be thinking of you on the 8th. Glad they moved it up for you; waiting is hard.

I had a nice visit yesterday with one of my cousins, and then with a childhood friend I hadn't seen in 55 years. That was fun! We both look like our mothers!

Today I'm moving on to Burlington, VT, and will visit with another cousin tomorrow. Then on to Soos' for the Ruckus!

Good morning Lori, Joan, Liz & everyone that follows!

Lori, that's great news about the thyroid! You & Ernie are in our prayers.

Liz, have fun visiting with family & friends!

I'm off to my parents house to take Mom for her last radiation treatment for the week. The doctor is giving her a week off because her throat and esophagus is so sore from the radiation and she's having problems eating. My oldest sister has been in the hospital since Sunday and another problem flared up while she was there and she has since been operated on for that and is now in ICU. I'll visit with her while I'm in town and see if maybe she can be moved out of ICU today.

Have a good Friday everyone!

Great news indeed, Lori!!!! :D :P Yep, one issue crossed off the list; praying for good news come the 8th!!!

Liz, what a hoot to meet up with a childhood friend 55 years later & find you "look like your mothers" LOL LOL   Irmi, so sorry to hear your mom is having throat problems again. :( & sorry to hear about your sis....you have your hands full....

So far, no symptoms of what my bro has. He stopped by yesterday, saying he still felt lousy, but he was managing. More Vit C & zinc for me! Need to mow today & that's about it.

Y'all have a great Friday & be safe wherever you are! Safe travels to those of you/us heading to the Ruckus this Sunday! 8-)

good morning ladies
am ready to go to work for the yearling meeting and have time to spare, so here I am :D
Hot and humid today, but no rain forecast, just cloud cover that makes it humid and keeps the temps from climbing so high.
But at least its friday, and I have nothing else to say :D
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good Morning !!! I don't really know whats happening with anyone, Sorry !!! But Lori, its so good about your good report on one item, your surgery is on my grandson's birthday, so I surely won't forget that and will be praying for you that all works out for the very best for you.

Irmi, I am so sorry your Mom, is having problems with eating, that is so important for her. And now, your Sis, wow, am praying for you and all of your family, you about have your limit there I think.

Liz, have fun up there in the ole stoppin' grounds visiting around. I know you are thoroughly enjoying yourself.

I'm making good headway here, but yesterday, realized it was the first day of August!! Where has this year gone???. I decided I am going to concentrate on the things that need to be done to get myself on the road for Michigan. Have to have a couple of things checked out on RV, plus get it in order for traveling. Make bed, mop floor, etc. I spent some of last week in it, over at my friends with the yard sale. We did very well. But her husband took off on his motorcycle for a nice ride with a friend and he wasn't gone 30 mins. and friend called to tell us he had been hit and knocked off his bike. He ended up with two fractures of shoulder and rib, and bruised. I and a neighbor manned the yard sale, and Sandra spent the day at the hospital with her hubby. He will be sore for awhile, but he is ok,

Must get moving, just had to comment on Lori's post, that was such good news !!! Nothing really new here, hope you all have a Great day, whatever you're doing or wherever you are please stay safe !!!

Lori, that is really good news about your thyroid! :D I'm glad they moved your surgery up, too. It will be great to have that over.

Irmi, you sure have your hands full right now. Best wishes to all your family.

Sounds like you're having fun, Liz! Ava, Friday is surely the best day of the week when you're still on the job -- so glad it's today. :)

I'm heading up to Mackinaw City later today. There's a reenactment of a fur trader's rendezvous, and I'm eager to see it. Of course, reenactments are always more fun when you're in costume yourself, but I expect I'll have a really good time anyway. ;) Besides, I'll get to meet Sue.

Have fun this weekend, everybody!

Good Morning everyone,

Having some difficulty getting into the forum this morning. Don't know if it's my computer or the forum itself. But anyway, here I am.

Been busy already this morning. Oatmeal and blueberries already in the tummy, Sassy has her pill and she's asleep in my breezeway. Been raining and now it's doing so again. But I'm busy cleaning house. Figured after a week of cleaning and prepping my TT for a trip out next week, that it was time to stop with the "House on Wheels" and get with the "House on the Ground" Will be heading to town late today, stop at Home Depot and then to funeral home for my friend's husband who died on Monday. Sad story there. He was only 41, died of massive heart attack. No life insurance and family doesn't have medical insurance either, 4 kids and both of them have been working so hard trying to make ends meet. Financial burden is overwhelming at the moment. Benefit dinner being held for the family after viewing tonight. Will probably be something done down this way too eventually since they owned the little ice cream/food shop near here. My heart goes out to her.

Irmi, prayers being sent to you and your family. You certainly have had enough going on.

Lori, great news on the thyroid. Now to get the surgery done. I have a friend getting back surgery on same day, so will be awaiting news on both fronts :)

Ava, hard to believe school is starting out that way. Ours has a month yet. Know you will be glad when you meeting is over. Been there done that at the park every spring too. I can just feel the excitement as you plot your future dreams out. Time is going by and before long that day will be here :)

So a MI GTG is definitely in the works. Will enjoy seeing those whom I can. Unfortunately Carolb won't be one as I have an eye exam scheduled for that day. But hope to catch Liz, Peggy, Carollinangel and whomever else is heading up this way. Looks like a new thread needs to be started as the old one is getting too confusing.

Well, time to get back to the house cleaning. Only have a couple rooms left to vac and dust and that's it. Have a wonderful day all and safe travels to all those who will be on the road.

Lori, so good to hear such wonderful news from you. Now onward to this nasty surgery and getting past it, also. I'm expecting that to bring things round to good news also!

Irmi, so sorry about more problems with your Mom and sister.

We're having a shore day today ... so I'm off to clean the carpets on the boat, then back home to vegetate in front of my computer with the rest of season 2 (probably not all the rest of it, but who knows) of 24. Yes, I'm addicted to it!

LOLOL, Beth!!

Several years ago, Allison Taylor, the U.S. President in Seasons 7 & 8, was played by Paris native Cherry Jones. She had a fund raiser in Paris and George and I went (I usually avoid those things like the plague). Anyway, at auction, I bid on, and won, a rifle casing actually used on 24 (with certification). I gave it to my girlfriend who is madly in love with Jack Bauer. She just thought it was the cat's meow!!

You tease, you. I'm only in the middle of Season 2 and have little expectation of being able to finish all of the original 9 seasons and here you are teasing me that there will be a new season. Curses on you!

I think it's 8 seasons, plus "24: Redemption" tv movie.
Sigh...oh the excitement, drama, and suspense you're going to miss...

Your link said it ran from 2001 to 2010 - I figured 9, possibly 10 seasons from that ... but will take your word that it's 8 ... no matter how many, I'm getting a sore butt and am only in the middle of the 2nd season.

Glad the blood work was normal, that is always a relief. Today is the big day, sending best wishes to the happy couple. May they have a lifetime of wonderful memories.

My two are having a fit, time to let them out and go fix their bowls, I'm so well trained.
