Possible Michigan GTG in August

Ok I'm confused... did the Jell-O in this mold ever set? Seems I have some free time coming my way. Was going to sit at the CG in Wapakoneta, OH but can just as easily head north for a couple of days.

Was a site chosen?
Were dates chosen?

That's further than I want to go. MI would be a 1 day trip and I don't like going further than a few hours with the dog.

Dates and sites are still Jello. Haven't heard from anybody other than Carolb who will be entering MI through Port Huron and then heading west through Lansing, stopping to see Louise (havingfunnow) and over toward Montague area to visit Bikerchick and on down to IL by August 14 I think she said.

Far as I know Liz and Peggy are coming after Soos' Ruckus, but not sure where they are going first. They had talked about Otsego County Park near me here. Carolinangel is supposed to be coming up too, but not sure just when. Sarah is also possibility. None of this will happen till after Soos' Ruckus.

As for me, I am heading to Aloha State Park next Mondeay, Tuesday, Wednesday. That's just south of Cheboygan. There are a few sites open right now. The next week (12th, I have appts. on the 13th and 15th. Otherwise I'm free to do whatever. You want to come up, come on. The Otsego County Park in near me, Otsego Lake State Park is just a couple of miles away, my yard is available.

Jello starting to set Having some communication with others & here's a proposal: How about the NF near Linda on her days off, 12/13th (Mon & Tues) & maybe longer for whoever wants to stay after Linda goes back to work? It'll be a good stopping point for me on my way south, & a stopping point for those (BJ, Sarah, CArol?) on their way north? And a close get-away place for Linda, Melissa & LOUISE???

Peg, Liz & I will be spending a day/night at Niagara Falls on Sunday the 11th, traveling through Canada on the 12th. Peg & Liz have ample time, so they'll make a leisurely trip across Canada & not make the NF gtg (they're planning on camping near you eventually, Sue). Being on limited time, I'll drive ahead of them to be at NF either Mon evening or Tues early. Depends on what Louise is doing AND, I can stay til the 15th a.m., still getting to my next destination "on time."

That sounds like a good proposal Carolb. I have an eye exam on the 13th, so camping is out for me then, but maybe some of the others might join you. Don't know if Linda will or not as she has her rig pretty well set up for long term stay where she is and probably won't want to move it, but she can drive out there I'm sure. Do you know exactly where this campground is? Pines Point? Only 5 sites. Do you have an alternative in case it's full?

Plans starting to fall into place!! Sounds as though several of us can meet one place or the other coming and going, it can never be said this group isn't flexible.

Sue, I think Liz posted that it looked like there shouldn't be a problem getting a place at Pines point during the week and we can meet up with Linda so she doesn't have to worry about moving. That is if Linda is available I think we forgot to check.

I found this on Pines Point and looks like all the sites are available for the dates if anyone wants to reserve. Note also the one vehicle per site but you can pay for an addition vehicle those of us with small rigs could possibly share.

Great info BJ, & really looking forward to seeing you Yep, Sue, haven't seen Linda on this thread lately, so I'll send her a PM. Seems one of her posts, she said she'd be happy to see visitors & do day-trips to the cg on her days off. Will let her jump in here with her plans...I guess it's not a "real" gtg, but like BJ says, more of a "drive-by" gtg since many of us are passing through Linda's area anyway--& fun can be had anytime, anywhere, right? Oops, but if we're a "drive- by" gtg, are we eligible for bail money Or maybe we'll be on our own & have to behave ourselves

OK. Here I am! Sorry I have been absent, but was busy with work and my visiting granddaughter. Back to "normal" now...whatever that is! I was wondering what you all figured out. My head was spinning, so was just as well to sit back and let you all hash it out. I'm still a bit confused, but is everyone staying at Pines Point? When? Ken and I went kayaking up there and it was nice. Would need definite dates and who needs kayaks. I was planning to go visit Ken this Mon and Tues. (5th & 6th) and kayak both days, there in Mancelona area, near Gaylord. Anyone who wants to join is is welcome! Linda, darn, I could have buzzed over to see you while in Mancelona, as it's a straight line from here, 25 miles, but course have to go by way of road, in this case Mancelona Rd. which is a mile up the road from me. But I am heading to Aloha State Park on Monday and won't be back till Thursday. That's just south of Cheboygan.

I sent PM's to Melissa & Louise. Melissa is a "no" & haven't heard from Louise. You out there Louise?? So right now it looks like a mini, with me, Linda & BJ. Tina hasn't posted lately, so maybe we can PM her. Or as Beth suggests, start a new topic & pick up a few others????

Hey Sue, if it's not too much trouble with the TT, we're only going to be there a few days. Maybe you could join us after your 13th dr. appt, & get back home for the one on the 15th? Actually, those are the days I'll be there, arriving early on the 13th & leaving on the 15th.
