Cool Monday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:25 am

A Good Monday Morning to you all,

Yep, cool and damp is the word here this morning. We are into kind of a "fall" weather pattern here. Kind of typical for this time of year. Always seem to have a couple weeks of cool and wet type weather and then it warms up again. Like a "harbinger" of the season that is coming in a few more weeks. Then it's bye bye summer :(

Not much happening around here right now. I'm all wore out reading about the comings and goings and doings of a lot of you in yesterday's Morning Coffee. Busy bunch we are right now. Spent some time yesterday at Wal Mart, Lowes and Home Depot looking over storage ideas for my TT's cupboards. Need to add a shelf to a couple of them. So today, will go get the materials and start cleaning and organizing etc. so I can put stuff in. Right now I have stuff all over my workbench in garage and in my breezeway  Spotted about 3 campsites open at my favorite state park for the upcoming weekend and if I can get things ready, might just reserve one and head up there. Am meeting Louise (havingfunnow) in Mackinaw City on Saturday and that would be closer. We shall see. Also noted in Show Off Your Rigs section, that a number of us have bought new or new to use rigs over these past few weeks. And a few getting repairs made as well. Guess we are keeping the economy moving anyway. At least my check book says I am

Catherine, I'm so sorry to hear about your Sierra. Watching them go downhill from that kidney disease is no fun, but at least we know they are in a better place up at the Rainbow Bridge. Perhaps she is playing with my Tessa for all we know. At least you, like me, have another 4 legged companion with us, so it helps to ease the loss a bit. (((HUGS))) to you.

Donna, Maggie is probably nervous and a bit bewildered as to what is going on right now. She is watching you hauling all those boxes down from your upstairs area, cleaning and getting ride of stuff and she knows that something is up. So she is going to tend to wake you or stay by you, to make sure your don't "disappear" on her too. A bit of doggie insecurity so to speak. Her normal home life is being turned upside down.

Red, hope you can get out of Camp Red Bay and home to see your daughter pretty soon. Louise, you are hoping for cooler weather this weekend while you camp. I think you will have it. Nights are into the 50's, so bring some warm blankets and maybe a portable heater just to be on the safe side. Karen and Sharon are having so much fun on their travels. Hope they get into MI someday. Soos' Ruckus is only a week away and more people are jumping on the bandwagon.

As for me, I am going to jump into my outdoor clothes and get moving to town. Want to get back here so I can start in on the TT. Wishing you all a wonderful day today, enjoy your sightseeing and travels if you are on the road. The rest of us can only dream.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL TO FOLLOW!

It was in the 50s last night here, too, but the sun is coming up now and the sky is a clear Adirondack blue. I am off to the hospital this morning to (hopefully) get my fasting blood test over with so I can re-schedule my doctor appointment sometime soon. They are testing for cholesterol levels and, since I am now on Lipitor, evidence of any sugar imbalances in my system----they are saying that Lipitor can cause type II Diabetes in women, and you can bet I don't want that!

Richard is also having his blood drawn this morning, per order of his home doctor who faxed him the paper work. After the gore, we will stop for breakfast at the Dead Dog Diner in Bloomingdale----a place that has great home-made foods and that used to be the vet's, hence the name. :)

I got my trailer washed yesterday, and picked more blueberries. As it rained on and off, I stayed in and tried to learn the chords and words to a song I am trying like mad to learn to play on my guitar. No name of the singer, no name of the song, so have not been able to find it anywhere online to get any help with it.

Hope you all have a good Monday and that you managed to avoid the flash floods of yesterday here in the east in many places, including Philadelphia. What a scary event that must have been, and I am ecstatic to have missed out on that kind of rain.

Sue, I can't wait to see pics of your new TT! Sorry I have not been chatting lately, but I never am inside here when it's time. I will try to be better!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning Sue and Soos and all to follow. The early morning migration from your spot into your assigned service bay starts at 6. Everyone unhooking, pulling the slides in, starting those diesel engines sounding like the beginning of a race. All the employees arriving almost at the same time and streaming into the service building like little ants. Busy, Busy, Busy. Except us. We wait for the phone call that one of the parts has arrived. However, in a bit I will wander over and politely ask. All the workers are here by 6:50. They all meet in groups, guessing its with their supervisors. They talk real soft, but I could tell they talked about individual cases, then bowed their heads with a devotional prayer. Then the bay doors are opened for the coaches to enter!! It is such a ritual. These are the best-est, nicest people to work with. So genuinely polite and eager to help and make you happy (in terms of your coach).

We spent the weekend with day trips to the Tupelo area. Shooting skeet at the really nice gun club both Sat and Sun. Then the Natchez Trace Parkway visitor center, birthplace of Elvis and explored Bay Springs lake, dam and lock and surrounding areas. Keep your fingers crossed that our stuff arrives today so we can start our journey along the Natchez Trace back to the barn.

Everyone have a great day. Stay safe. Aloha y'all

Wish I was where it's cooler. They are talking about it being the hottest week of the summer (so far - we still have August to get through). We did get good rain Saturday and a little more yesterday - so it was nice and steamy this morning.

All this talk of traveling and alas, I'm at work. There is a long weekend camping trip in September that I'm going to start planning for. I may need to plan another one in October. I need to start using more of my vacation time. What a rough thing to have to do. But I'm in a position where I don't want to spend a lot of money between now and the end of the year as I have another expensive vacation coming up when I go to Norway for Christmas and my niece's wedding.

Sander, Probably got the same rain here Saturday, definitely have the heat going on as well.

Red, sounds like a great place, wish more places got together and prayed before starting their work.

Nasoosie, hope all goes well with the blood work today.

Collie, one day dreams can become reality!

On vacation today and getting ready to head on over to hellmart and start fixing up Pluto. Needs organization and its screaming for some colour, why is it soooo brown? Now I'm wishing I would have taken sewing lessons. Would like some real curtains and the dining seats need help. And after seeing the talk about back splashes, I want something done there too. Onward to see what can be done, everyone have a great day!

Good Morning ladies, just a quick post to let everyone see the weather we are having here in Northern MN this week. Last night it got down to 35 for the areas low. I sure hope it decides to warm up a little as I would still like to get some more camping this summer. The entire weekend was cold, raining, and windy.. Not at all normal for this time of year.

good morning ladies, just working on a little of this and a little of that for today :D in other words, whatever I decide to do. The
grubs have been coming out of the palm trees and I keep finding strays in the house. Maggie finds them too and thinks they are
something to play with and toss around. NOT! They gross me out, but then if I was going fishing they would sure make some nice
bait. Some of them are a good inch to inch and a half long and very fat. Not fun to step on in the night with my bare feet.
Think the weather today is going to hold around 101 but the rains are suppose to take a break.
Off to catch up on other posts and emails. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning

((((hugs)))))))), Catherine.

Pleasant weather here also - hard to believe it is near end of July as it is so nice out.

I'm still trying to recover from an expensive, exhausting but productive day Saturday. Niece needed some money so I hired her and a couple of her friends to help with several things around here in need of attention - house cleaning, yard pick up/trim, install new TV and light fixture over kitchen sink, etc. Think I am now sporting an example bite from every insect native to north AL. The outside work also set off allergies again and vertigo. Not sure what was worse yesterday, the sneezing, itching or staggering like too much to drink when I try to walk. Feeling much better this morning and very glad to have gotten so much done.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Karen and I had plans to go back in to Charleston today and do the city market but we're both kind of dragging today. Wonder if it had anything to do with the pub crawl we did yesterday afternoon? I was the DD so I pretty much just tasted her drinks. One of them was really yummy...a thai something or other, but it sure was good. Lemon grass vodka or something. I tried a cucumber vodka, it was pretty smooth, but I only took a few sips of it. The appetizers served were really good, too. If you're ever in Charleston, this was a fun and informative tour. 30 bucks and includes appetizers at 4 pubs. The down side was we came back to my car and I had a flat. Darn! And of course I hadn't brought my wallet with my AAA or coach-net cards. Karen called on her AAA and they said an hour. Another Darn! I got the book out so I could find out how to get the spare down from under the jeep and of course the back was loaded with kayak and tow stuff. Darn!! Unloaded car, found jack and accesories, got tire down and out and Karen says, "I bet we can change this ourselves". Yeah, probably. So I loosened lug nuts, looked in book to see where jack goes for a rear tire and started jacking. A guy that looked older than us and in way worse shape asked if we needed help. I assured him we had it handled. Next thing I know there's a younger family with a couple of grandma's and 2 kids in tow insisting that they change the tire. I said we were ok, Karen said thank you so much we appreciate the help and they took over. They were kind of impressed that I already had the lug nuts loose before I started jacking and the emergency brake was set. They finished the job, found a big slash in the tire and looks like I ran over a razor knife or something. I checked on line for tires, found out there's 2 styles of my tire, one is 169 and the other is 289. Guess which one I have? Triple darn!!! Appt. tomorrow at the jeep dealer for new tire.

We're just taking it easy today and will drop the jeep off in the morning and go on into town.

Good Afternoon, I have been a somewhat busy bee this morning. Have to get the chores done before it gets hot. Oh wait....they said our heat wave is over it is only going to be 93 today...ha ha

Lots of fires around here of course, one up by 7Feathers Casino (about 80 miles north of me)...seems they have all the resources in place to fight the fire but cant fight it yet due to such heavy smoke. It is only 2% contained after 3 days...yikes. Absolutely beautiful sunset last night, big ole orange sun due to all the smoke in the air. It isn't too bad here in Ashland but Medford seemed way more smoky this am. We are so dry here, we are expecting more "dry lightning" this week so that cannot be good.

We are going camping up by Oakridge Oregon in a couple of weeks and they had a fire close by there this week...Lets hope no more fires and we still get to go camping at Caseys Riverside Resort, it is a great campground. Right on the river. Working on Plan B, just in case. There are 3 of us going camping, Finally Time from WA, CougarFan, and myself. Mini GTG. We will be there a week (we hope).

Red, your stuff will come in today....but only half of it....IF it is like my luck. But hoping it all comes today and you get to hit the road soon.

I just got back from bringing my motorhome to the Ford place in Lafayette. There are 4 things that I want worked on so the guy told me that they were all different departments so it might take 2 or 3 days. I didn't tell him that an RV place would keep it a month just to fix one thing. My friend had to go to Lafayette for work so she said she would bring me home. My son picked me up at the Ford place, we ate lunch at the Cracker Barrel and he brought me to meet my friend. It's always a production to get a vehicle to the shop.

Karen, your cold spells sound like ours. They think anything under 90 is cool.

Sharon, your pub crawl sounded like fun but not to be the DD. Sorry you had tire trouble. It's always something. The Ford place just called after their inspection of all the systems and said my front tires have cupping. Whatever the h#*% that is. I know the 2 front tires are the newest ones and I think they were replaced last summer. The guy wanted to know if I wanted to go see. Yea, I'll just run right over, it's only 40 miles.
