Morning Carolb and all who follow,
How about sending some of that rain over here. It seems to be going both north and south of me anymore. Been the weather pattern for the past couple of years or so. But the one thing is, so do the bad storms. So lucky in that respect. I don't think we have had two thunderstorms all summer here. Our weather is influenced by the lakes and it makes a big difference in what comes this way. But the snow never misses
I was thinking the same thing about the British Monarchy. Those babies are born into Royalty and never have a say about what they want to do when they grow up. As children they are expected to know this and that and be prim and gracious and not into the stuff other kids do. And also must marry into "higher ups" and not some local country girl. No fun. Always in the public eye too. Now that there is an heir to the throne, I wonder if the Queen will retire and let the next in line step up.
Chris, reading yesterday's post about your mad scramble to get to the Service Bay had me really laughing
I can just picture all that going on and you madly chasing hubby down the run way. I wonder if any of the other campers were laughing as well, if they saw you. But at least you got there. And man, what a makeover you are getting. You sure are being pampered as far as replacing stuff is concerned although it's boring I'm sure, having to sit there all day. But before long you will be on the road again.
BJ, you were asking me about ticks the other day on the GTG thread. Answer is no. I've been talking with people who are camping and no ticks anyplace, chiggers either. As I said, haven't seen any, been bothered by any, nothing. There are a couple of areas up here where they are supposedly bad, but it's back on state land way out in the boonies where the deer and elk roam and spread them around. Not a place where the average person is wandering around unless maybe you are a hiker on one of the trails or something. Or maybe camping out there in the bush and not in one of the state forest campgrounds.
Kathleen, so glad to see you post on a daily basis. Hope you are starting to get some relief from the pain and feeling better. Wish you could have joined the few who are coming up this way, but I know you aren't able too. Maybe will catch you some place one day.
Gee Ava, sounds like AZ is really getting the rain in some areas. Apache Junction is where my neighbor has a second home and his wife is down there right now. Will have to inquire about things down there when I see him next time.
Well, I have some news for you. Went over to the RV dealer whom my friend and I have been going to and she bought her TT from. And..... I'm now the owner of a nice new spiffy RV again. Bought a 19ft TT yesterday. Will pick up on Friday. And yes, I know you are all going to want pictures
Will post some when I get it home to take some. Have to keep the carrot dangling in front of you, you know
But already making plans for decorating and also to hit the road within the next couple of weeks to take this one on it's maiden voyage. Then it's off to the U.P. in August. Will be a good time cause parks will be starting to get slow then and lots of sites open. Indian Lake, Fayette, Van Riper, here I come
Yes, the gas prices are a big factor in doing things. But my friend and I are both pulling TT's that have GVWR's of #500# and we both have vans with good gas mileage even with the TT's in tow. We figure we are in the game cause of being lightweight and being able to be towed by smaller vans and SUV's. I know a lot of you prefer to have your MH's and everybody has their reasons for it, but smaller TT's and vehicles are probably going to be the only way to go eventually.
Well, first item on agenda this morning is get dressed and head for local RV dealer to see if they can install a brake controller. RV dealership doesn't do it right there but has somebody in the area they contract out to. I'm going to see if I can have it done locally here first, if not, will contact dealer and have them set me a time with their installer. He works out of his home. Dang, I'm getting excited.
So, time to get moving here. Adios all.
