Tuesday rain again

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday rain again

Postby carolb » Tue Jul 23, 2013 5:08 am

Good morning all :D

Well, started raining during the night & looks like an all day soaker! Cripes! But I guess it's better than a drought  Crazy weather patterns this summer....

Cripes (again), I sure hope the gas prices go down again some time soon. They're getting crazy too! Well, we just have to accept it as part of the rving life, eh? I'm itching to get on the road, but I guess it's a good thing to be parked right now, til the beginning of August.

Oh, I've been forgetting: LoWs (two NE chapters) are having a rally in the Adirondacks, Lake George, Sept 25-29th. They're trying to get word out since something went awry with the National LoWs org not getting it in the newsletter or something. Anyway, they asked me if I'd mention it--& I cleared this with Beth--so here it is. Don't have to be a LoWs member to attend. (I imagine you can google them for details--UNY LoW's or Yankee LoWs)...

Dang, I was hoping for a PrincESS!!! Amazing that a modern, industrialized/technologized nation still supports a monarchy, & they seem to be very happy about it! :?

Well, y'all have a great day & safe travels always! 8-)

Good Morning !!! More rain here today too, its ok though, only time it bothers me is if the yard is past the point of mowing, and it just rains and rains. ;)

Yes, the gas prices always choose to go up when any of us might have plans. But, whether you stay around home and on the road every day as some are or whether you get in your RV and maybe go somewhere to see someone or something different, doesn't make any difference. Those gas prices are going to go up and down, and seems none of us can do anything about it. I cringe hearing they are going up, but I will go and just blank everything out while at the pump. :o  I don't have the time to wait out these gas prices, I need to travel as I want, within reason, now. I may do some boondocking with you Carolb :D ;)

Hope you all have a good day, Kathleen, hope your pain is way less, wish it would be gone, but if you could just be more comfortable, would be a Blessing. Sarah, hope your infected head, is better . That dizziness is gone and balance is much better now. Lori, I believe everything will be fine with you, in time. This waiting until anything is done or found out, think is the worse time. Thinking of you each day. Irmi, hope your parents are doing better and that your Mom's treatments will be done soon, with good results. So many with health issues !!

Must get moving, have a great day and whatever you're doing or wherever you are, Stay Safe !!!!

Morning Carolb and all who follow,

How about sending some of that rain over here. It seems to be going both north and south of me anymore. Been the weather pattern for the past couple of years or so. But the one thing is, so do the bad storms. So lucky in that respect. I don't think we have had two thunderstorms all summer here. Our weather is influenced by the lakes and it makes a big difference in what comes this way. But the snow never misses

I was thinking the same thing about the British Monarchy. Those babies are born into Royalty and never have a say about what they want to do when they grow up. As children they are expected to know this and that and be prim and gracious and not into the stuff other kids do. And also must marry into "higher ups" and not some local country girl. No fun. Always in the public eye too. Now that there is an heir to the throne, I wonder if the Queen will retire and let the next in line step up.

Chris, reading yesterday's post about your mad scramble to get to the Service Bay had me really laughing    I can just picture all that going on and you madly chasing hubby down the run way. I wonder if any of the other campers were laughing as well, if they saw you. But at least you got there. And man, what a makeover you are getting. You sure are being pampered as far as replacing stuff is concerned although it's boring I'm sure, having to sit there all day. But before long you will be on the road again.

BJ, you were asking me about ticks the other day on the GTG thread. Answer is no. I've been talking with people who are camping and no ticks anyplace, chiggers either. As I said, haven't seen any, been bothered by any, nothing. There are a couple of areas up here where they are supposedly bad, but it's back on state land way out in the boonies where the deer and elk roam and spread them around. Not a place where the average person is wandering around unless maybe you are a hiker on one of the trails or something. Or maybe camping out there in the bush and not in one of the state forest campgrounds.

Kathleen, so glad to see you post on a daily basis. Hope you are starting to get some relief from the pain and feeling better. Wish you could have joined the few who are coming up this way, but I know you aren't able too. Maybe will catch you some place one day.

Gee Ava, sounds like AZ is really getting the rain in some areas. Apache Junction is where my neighbor has a second home and his wife is down there right now. Will have to inquire about things down there when I see him next time.

Well, I have some news for you. Went over to the RV dealer whom my friend and I have been going to and she bought her TT from. And..... I'm now the owner of a nice new spiffy RV again. Bought a 19ft TT yesterday. Will pick up on Friday. And yes, I know you are all going to want pictures  Will post some when I get it home to take some. Have to keep the carrot dangling in front of you, you know  But already making plans for decorating and also to hit the road within the next couple of weeks to take this one on it's maiden voyage. Then it's off to the U.P. in August. Will be a good time cause parks will be starting to get slow then and lots of sites open. Indian Lake, Fayette, Van Riper, here I come :D Yes, the gas prices are a big factor in doing things. But my friend and I are both pulling TT's that have GVWR's of #500# and we both have vans with good gas mileage even with the TT's in tow. We figure we are in the game cause of being lightweight and being able to be towed by smaller vans and SUV's. I know a lot of you prefer to have your MH's and everybody has their reasons for it, but smaller TT's and vehicles are probably going to be the only way to go eventually.

Well, first item on agenda this morning is get dressed and head for local RV dealer to see if they can install a brake controller. RV dealership doesn't do it right there but has somebody in the area they contract out to. I'm going to see if I can have it done locally here first, if not, will contact dealer and have them set me a time with their installer. He works out of his home. Dang, I'm getting excited.

So, time to get moving here. Adios all.

Donna, you really have been busy and the results are looking good. Like Liz I read back a few posts. ((((hugs)))) for you....memories of your brother.

Now about thinking of ways to make money on the road that will fit in your house on wheels...just as long as you don't forget and start picking up furniture to be refinished....

Sue - Congratulations!!! Which one did you get? The walk around bed or the BH like your friend's? I'm so excited for you!

Just read about Tina's Non-RV adventure and that sounds like fun, but I don't know that I could even get up on a horse and any horse with me on its back would have my sympathies.

Hot, Hot, Hot here - going to be near 100 today. And the air is hazy with the smog - ah, life in the big city in the summer. But it's where the job is.

Congratulations Sue! I look forward to seeing your new TT in person soon....and meeting you too.

Great news Lori about the thyroid. I continue to pray that all is benign and you will be on the mend after the surgery.

Heavy rain here today. It will likely mess up our plans to hike and geocache today. Glad my sister and I had a chance to get the kayaks out yesterday. Tomorrow Thistle has an appointment for grooming....shh, I haven't told him yet.

Like CArol said re gas prices...it is what it is, fill er up.

Good Morning All, Sue, that is great news about your new trailer!!! You've given it lots of thought, and kept us in suspense for some time now.
The chili is made and in the freezer, awaiting transfer to the camper for our trip north. I will put the recipe in the pro
per thread.
I take a few things down to the storage area each day, so I do not have lots to transfer at the last minute. On Sat morning I want to get up and go!!! I'm using the dog ramp for Casey to get her used to it. At first she did not like it, but, slowly, is getting used to it. We have an appointment with the vet this morning.
I've been looking for a nice veggie cooker for the bar-be-que. Couldn't find one on the internet that I liked, and lo and behold, found one yesterday in the Grocery Outlet across the street! I don't do yard sales but still get a thrill out of "finds" like this.
Have a nice day all, lyn
