Ibis invasion

Postby Liz » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:28 pm

I looked out my office window this morning to see what Bandit was so interested in and saw a huge flock of birds in the yard across the street. I think they are white Ibis, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Image

They were scurrying all over the yard pecking at the ground. Must have been something really good. The house is empty...in forclosure, so lawn has been neglected for awhile.

Image

They seemed to have a discussion about moving down to the next house, and then headed that way

There's an old lady with a camera over here, I'm going back..

Whoa, look out below.

What are those white birds doing on my turf?

Bet you were glad your camera was handy. If it had been a flock of sparrows you wouldn't have thought anything of it. They are beautiful, whatever they are!

Neat to see them in your yards. Have them here all the time - I'm sure going to miss them when I head down the road. Never having really been a bird person - it's amazing how much I watch and love them here.

Great pics - pays to always have camera handy so you don't have to say "If only" I wonder if that's what they call Garzas down here.

Great pics.... you do a lot better than i do about having your camera handy. Last week five deer went runny down in front of my deck and my camera was on other side of house. I told them to go back and wait for me to get ,.... they refused.
