Friday fun

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday fun

Postby Liz » Fri Jul 19, 2013 7:17 am

Good morning on the predicted hottest day of the year here in Massachsetts.
Had a nice mini gtg yesterday with Peggy from CT. She stopped for the night at my cg on her way back to CT from Martha's Vineyard. We has dinner together and a nice chat. May get together again later on our way to or in Michigan.

This morning I had an early (8 am) appt. to have the oil change and service on my RV, about 12 miles from the cg. I got up early, got everything stowed and unhooked. Arrived at Baystate Ford RV CRT about 7:45. The service manager had no record of my appt. (made last week by phone). He said he would never have scheduled it because they are sooo busy. He had no idea who could have given me that appt., etc. etc. I showed him the paper where I had written down the appt. day and time and address. He reluctantly took my information and said they would do it, but it would be a long wait. So here I am....waiting. That's my Friday fun, lol.

Good morning Liz & everyone!

Liz, I sure hope you don't have to wait all day for your appointment. Next time, get the name of the person you talked to on the phone for further verification and see if that helps.

Good Morning Liz and all who follow,

Don't cha just love it when you get crossed up by service depts. like that. Only consolation is that although you may have to spend time there, you should be in A/C and out of the heat. Bet after all that song and dance he gave you, you will be out of there quicker than you think. Been there done that.

I see you and Peggy are coming into MI. Do you know where you will be and where you are going as yet? GTG in he works?

Well, good news here today is the heat advisories are being lifted at 8 a.m. and the cold front is approaching. Already having heavy storms and rain in the U.P. and it's starting to enter the Northwest corner of the lower. Supposed to be around 88 today but down to 56 tonight. Very good sleeping weather. There is a really great breeze blowing right now. Actually a gusty one as the front approaches. I took my window A/C out and opened the window with the screen in, to let the breeze blow in from the back of the house. Won't need the A/C for awhile if at all. But one never knows. Only takes a few minutes to put it in again.

Went over to an Amish hardward/feed store about 5 miles from here yesterday. Wanted to get some new veggie peelers. Lost the one I had and it was so great, that I wanted to get another one. Got two this time as well as a new paring knife. Carbon stainless steel. Had an extremely heavy thunderstorm while I was over there too. Couldn't drive cause it was raining so hard. Felt like I was in a hurricane with the rain blowing sideways and in sheets.

Not much on the agenda here today. Just going to relax and let the front come through and enjoy the coolness of it. Maybe Sassy and I can actually get in a walk this evening.

Nothing else to report around this neck of the woods. Those of you on the east coast who usually get the weather I get, just hang in there, relief is on the way. In the meantime, you all have a great day, keep cool and keep safe if you are traveling.

Good morning all :D

Well, I did get my plasticware sorted & tossed (BJ, you always have the best info!) but it didn't take all of these past few days  Got on a roll with many other things & didn't get out my lap top for anything! So much going on while I was absent--too much happening to respond to all :? ...Just glad to see that everyone is doing well & managing through this heat wave. Yes, Liz, today is to be the HOTTEST, but come Sat night, a COOL DOWN :P

Speaking of which, Liz, Peggy tells me the two of you will be stopping by on your way to MI! :P :P Can't wait to see both of you again!

Lori, you're in my prayers, as is your dad, Barb...Magic okay, Sarah? Red, RED okay? Liz's issue reminds me that I should call Nissan to confirm my appt for Monday. Today, another day to be productive inside, so off to mend some clothes!

(Kathleen, you jumped in there before me--with good advice--YES drink lotsa water!!!)

Y'all have a great day, KEEP COOL & be safe wherever you are 8-)

Good Morning All, Glad to hear there is some relief coming from the heat on the East coast. This is going to be a big, noisy weekend around here. Comic Con is at its height. One big sound stage across the street for all its bands. Another big sound stage in the next block for the ?Playboy? sound stage. I know nothing about it but the security guards are watching it quite closely! Glad my bedroom is on the other side of the building and I am hard of hearing!!! lyn

Good morning All. It's just a few minutes into the afternoon. I am home sitting on my patio enjoying a lovely breeze. Too hot to do anything other than drink liquids.
Sue, yes Liz and I will be in Michigan about mid August, so think about a good place to meet up. We are traveling via Ontario, Canada. Entering MI at Windsor???? Don't have a map in front of me.
I hear other ladies may heading to MI as well. Peggy

Good morning ladies
first, I want to thank you all for your well wishes and hugs, its deeply appreciated.
spent the morning on the computer getting my reservations booked for the wedding in Oct. Motels in San Diego are sure expensive
but finally found what I needed, and it had good reviews. Next step is to decide on rental car.
Finally got my dress, now gotta get shoes.
Heres the dress...what da ya think? Evening wedding on the beach, hope I'm not too cold, the back is v-shaped bare back.

Ok, time to get to the store, catch ya'll later, have a great day.

I love the dress and think it's perfect for an evening wedding. Add a medium weight shawl in case the weather is chilly and some strappy sandals and voila! Beautiful.

Very pretty Ava. I second the shawl. That would be a perfect touch and not too heavy if you end up carrying it and not wearing it. Linda

I agree with the shawl and the sandals recommendation. It is on a beach for goodness sakes...at some point I can foresee that the sandals just might have to come off! :)

Good choice, Ava...it looks nice on you. Shawl and sandals will complete the look.

As long as the dress doesn't come off, too! well unless it is a clothing optional beach.
