Dear Lori,
It is really important to remind us all that stuff happens when you are out living your life. I hope all goes well. Sounds like you have good trusted doctors to do the work that needs to be done. I will light a candle for you.

Oh Lori !! Everything has been said, nothing I can add. One thing your message has made clear is Annual visits are very important. Different test I've been asked to take have turned up problems, I had no idea I had. No pain, does not mean you do not have a problem !!!

Keeping you in my prayers and sending you big (((((((((((( HUGS))))))))))). So glad you have Ernie, and Spinner will certainly do his part too. Our 4 legged buddies, know more then we do at times.

Take care, please keep us posted and know we are all here for you, and special prayers will go up during your surgery .

A little update: Went to the new GP this morning......(thank goodness my sister, Barb, works there and was able to be in the room with me. She's a wealth of family history to include my own history.... :) ) Anyways, he read all the stuff that the VA has done since my annual appt. in May...asked history questions which both Barb & I answered.....looked over test results....ordered more blood test (seems the VA never did on the thyroid and another recheck of my white count, which is how all this started..) We told him all about the GYN and Kidney DR. and what is planned so far, I. e. surgery.....he ordered a thyroid uptake, and did a consult with a Hematologist to follow up and monitor the blood issue....PLUS....is going to do a "shaving' of a spot under my left eye that maybe pre-skin Cancer...

I really like him, too...easy to talk to....so, basically, I'm happy with all the Drs. so far....and am relieved that things are proceeding at a reasonable pace at this point....

Barb said she's hanging out with me at these appts. because she believes I am becoming "over whelmed " with all this...and when I think about it, I probably am.... I'm so lucky to have family right now....and of course my Ernie....he's taking things well at this point, but is getting "antzy" and wants everything done, like, yesterday or today....so say a little prayer for him to have patience....and those of you who have met him and know him, know how hard "having patience" is for him...

Except for blood tests in the morning, I'm free of drs. appts. until next Thursday....pre-op reg. at the hospital....

Thank you all for your prayers and healing thoughts....will keep you posted...

Thanks for the update. Sounds like this new dr. Is on the ball, getting things done. It's very hard to be patient for all the tests, then test results, etc., I know. I'm so glad you have your sister there, especially at the dr. Appts, because it is all a bit overwhelming and it's hard to think of what questions to ask.

Keeping you in my prayers, Ernie too.

Glad you liked your doctor and that your sister was with you, besides moral support and comfort it is hard for one person to take every thing in and keep your thoughts together. Big hugs to you, Ernie and Spinner..

Lori will pray for a positive outcome. I will be in Pa from 8/28 to 9/12 if you are still in the area maybe we can GTG again while you are healing. Or maybe along the way as I are my way south to FL.

I am scheduled at the VA tomorrow for this year. Want to make sure all is well before I head out as well.
