I think my glass is the most boring as it usually has ice water.

I like variety and I usually have a drink according to what we're having for supper. So if we're having tacos or Mexican soup, I'll have a dark Mexican beer (negra modelo), if I'm having anything Italian, I'll have a glass of very dry red wine, ect. If it's cold I'll have something hot. Also, I rarely spend two nights in the same place, therefore 1 drink is normally my limit (unless I've had a partially rough day :)

A couple years ago I was camping with my 5 children, my oldest was 18, we were in deep, deep wooded mountainous, central PA. Phone reception was 20 min away. I felt a slight chill in the mountain air and thought to myself that (plus the fact that we were staying for 2 nights) was a good enough reason to have a hot buttered rum. A daughter was cutting potatoes for potatoe soup, one son was carving a semi burnt stick trying to make a miniture dug out canoe, the other children were playing checkers. I sat down with a hot drink and a magazine. As the first sip warmed my throat, I heard my 16yo son tell my 10yo daughter "Don't look at it! Don't look at it!" now you gotta know my 16yo son is in the middle of six children and doesn't care about much more than his own comfort, so when I heard HIM comforting another child I knew it had to be pretty bad.

She had cut through the entire tip of her finger, from nail edge to nail edge. I walked her to a hand full of campers that were leaving and asked "does this look like it needs stitches?". They were like "duh...". So you can imagine the look on my face (bleeding child, rum is probably entering my blood stream at this exact moment, 5 children, wet mountain roads and a 32 ft rental RV, oh by the way and "where is the nearest hospital?".

Luckily, a woman must have read the dire situation on my face and offered to drive us to the hospital. I left all the other children at the rv (18yo, 16yo, 6yo and 3yo) and headed to the ER. So my point is.... When I have that drink I have to make sure everything is perfect, no sharp objects, no potential injuries, check the weather forecast, ect; only then can I sit and relax and know with a tiny bit of assurance that my day really is over...

That's pretty scary Momofsix, I guess it's a good idea to know where a hospital is just in case. Thankfully someone was there and drove you and your daughter to the hospital.

I'll have to side with Beth on the boring side. Ice water for me too. But an occasional Pepsi isn't out of the question and I love iced tea as well. Once in a while perhaps a glass of Red Wine.

Usually just flavored water, but as for alcohol, typically Baileys on the rocks.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

All day, sipping on the ice water. After the sun is over the yardarm, 2 Buck Chuck Chardonnay (which is now $2.49) poured over a glass of ice. This, after my morning coffee which is a must. lyn

What is in my glass depends on the time of day! In the morning leaving for work I have my insulated mug of black coffee. When that’s gone I’m sipping on water for the rest of the work day…but I always have skim milk along to drink with my lunch. After work I usually have a can of Coke Zero or a glass of iced tea. My alcoholic drink of choice is beer….no fancy imports or micro brews just ice cold Bud Lite or Busch Lite. When I’m feeling especially festive I drink it with tomato juice in a frosted mug with green olives added...or as the local bartender calls them a Redneck Martini. Except for an occasional Margarita or hot buttered rum I have never really acquired a taste for hard liquors. My taste in wine tends to run on the cheap side! Must be a throw back from college.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
