Good Morning everyone,

Well, here we are, in mid July already. Summer is flying way too fast. But sounds like everybody's either having fun or keeping busy with S&B projects, whether just day to day stuff or getting ready to sell out and hit the road. Before we know it, fall will be here. I see that talk of a FL GTG has begun as well.

Having a bit of a "heat wave" here in MI this week. Should be gone by week's end however. Fine by me. In the meantime, will just ride it out. It's always hot the 3rd week of July here as we have our annual Alpenfest (Swiss style festival) here the 3rd week of July and you can be guaranteed it will get hot. Nice sunny weather is great for the festival, but since it's on the main drag in town, that pavement can get awful hot as well as the heat contained between the buildings lining the street. The street is lined with Arts and Crafts booths for the whole week and I'm sure a lot of you know how warm they can get in hot weather. Been there, done that. Whew! Makes it hot to even be walking around looking. So don't know if I will be up there or not.

Ava, the picture link you sent about that "haboob" was spectacular. I've seen some on the Weather Channel too. I would not want to be in one of those. I'm sure it was like that during the "dust bowl" years as well.

Lori, good luck with your medical issues right now. Thinking of you. Carolinaangel, you sure are having a time getting that grass cut this year. Hopefully it will quit raining out your way. Carolb, glad you had fun with the LOW's group. And that you were even able to get to VT as I have heard some areas are really experiencing some severe flooding and road wash outs. Donna, glad your tests came out good. Bonnie, I know you were looking for a TT to pull behind a V-6 and have one lines up. But just wanted to let you know that Sportsman also has some lightweight TT's in their Classic series. I've been looking at a couple of 19ft. that top out at 3500 pounds.

Nothing much on the agenda here today. Few errands to run and that's about it. Too hot in the sun to work outside, so will work on repainting of some woodpecker cutouts that I started while in the U.P. last week. Want to get them done. Also have a small folding table my dad built years ago that needs an overhaul, so will probably do that as well. Installed a new screen door in my garage door yesterday, so I can leave my back service door open and let some air flow through and finished up my Summer Welcome sign, so that was my day yesterday. I'm sure you can get excited over that.

Time to head out and water the flowers before the heat of the day gets going. Then wash my mop of hair from sweating in this weather. So wishing you all a great day and safe travels if on the road.

Heat wave expected here, starting today: that's three or more days of 90 plus weather. UGH! Those of you suffering from heat/humidity, you have my empathy. Too hot to do just about anything. No rain til the weekend, but wish we could send some to those of you still too dry.... VT did have some wash-out rain just the day before I arrived, but great weather while I was there...

I brought up the FL gtg since I remember it was last year at this time that I joined the forum, & there was already talk of it. Soooo, not wanting to be a newbie to suggest a date or place, I'm glad others are making some proposals I plan to be in FL for Nov-Jan, so I'm pretty sure I'll attend.

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything, but I agree with and want to support Wicked Lady. Bottom line: two humans "fearing for their lives," and the one with the deadliest weapon "won"....Not just my personal opinion, but my education in sociology gives me even more reason to support her. Hope this goes to the higher courts to get the "stand your ground" law clarified or changed. My nephew (former NYPD) says FL isn't the only state with this law...So, just weighing in on that topic so Wicked Lady doesn't get pummeled for her courage to speak out...

We're getting rain today - yay! We need it. And I get tickled when someone talks about a heat wave being 3 days of 90+ weather. We may actually not get in the 90's for the first time in a over a month because of the rain.

I really wish I didn't have to see about the Zimmerman case every single place I read - but such is life. My take on it - the prosecution didn't prove its case and knew it didn't when it through the lesser charges in. I'm not saying justice was served, I'm saying the jury probably made the correct decision based on the evidence. And they didn't find Zimmerman innocent. They found him not guilty - a difference.

Good morning all. Our 3 days in the little spot called Troy, AL is over. We're picking up camp, heading over to Greenville to return the rental car and then headed north. Yesterday we went on a search for an old cemetery in the middle of no where. DHs family had a small family plot out near the land they received from a land grant drawing back in 1840. Relatives had restored the cemetery and put a fence around it about 40 yrs. ago. So we knew where it is, sort of. We took many wrong turns and found several old cemeteries, however those old county plat maps don't match today's gps. Tyler and I would hike down a suspect road hopefully to find it. Took several tries, but found it. Kinda of like geocache We kind of "fit in" driving a truck (rental car was a truck). No one gave us a second look when we had to use their driveway to turn around. And the dogs would come out to escort us off their property. Loved exploring the tiny little towns and the old barns and the log cabins. What fun. Got all the pics upload to blog. Just have to finish the narrative before I publish.

Weather here has been really mild. I guess the rain at night cools it off. Night temps have been in the low 70s and daytime hardly reached 80 the whole time we were here. Although it is still humid. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha, y'all

This is the blanket/sling I use for Tyler so he doesn't go flying of the back seat of the rental car/truck. Also keeps the dog hair off the upholstery.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Sunny here, already 77 degrees out there, and forecast to be a 90+ degree day for us for a few to come as well. I will be washing my trailer, cleaning and organizing my old trailer as the kids finally got it free for me yesterday, and mowing this lawn again. Orion is still not well at all, and I think Mandy will be taking him to a Pediatrician today for another looksee. He slept in my air conditioned trailer with me nearly all day yesterday. I heard him hollering earlier, and am assuming he may have gone back to sleep again, but I will see later.

Zimmerman found "not guilty" as the prosecution did not prove guilt "beyond a reasonable doubt." As someone said, that is not the same as "innocent." Our court system has strict rules and the jury followed those rules. My take on why so much is being discussed and argued and protested and on and on about this case is because when something as controversial as this is made known by the media, it incites us all to take a closer look at our judicial system and all of its rules as well as particular states' laws regarding guns and possession of. I find it satisfying to know that at least we as a nation are not complacent about our government and that we have the right to discuss and question and challenge and complain. The end from me!

good morning ladies
enjoying the last bit of coffee as I'll need to get to work in about 20 minutes. Weather is so nice right now, overcast
and feels cool, but will be 105 by 4:00. The girls have been sleeping well and that in turn allows me to sleep well too.
Pixie still on antibiotics as her white cell count was high. But her weight is picked back up and hopefully if all goes
well and we get her cell count stable we can plan a tooth extraction, (or two, or three). She has to stay on antibiotics
until her surgery now.
Nothing much going for me now, gotta get to work to take my one kid to school and thats it. Ya'll have a great day,

Going to be hot and humid later this week here too but we did get a little rain last night. I drove Elsie yesterday since I hadn't driven her in awhile I found another issue...seems like there is always something, is it time to start shopping? I keep thinking about that Born Free that Excel posted about but it is 26' a little bigger than I want, now if it were 23...it is fun to dream on a warm summer morning.
Have a yoga class this morning, a person coming for hypnosis/reiki at 2:00 and a class this evening. Guess I should get started on the day, dogs are wanting breakfast. Have a good day all.

Soos, sorry to hear Orion is still sick, if they put him on antibiotics maybe that what is making him have digestive issues, yogurt might help.
Ava hope Pixie is able to get her dental work done soon, I need to get Andy in for some work on his teeth.

by this afternoon I wont be able to work up there...like an oven...no A/C
here...I was thinking I could use the RV A/C but son says no...I have to run
a 30 amp line...so that's not going to happen...better get back at it before

Good Morning All, Red, I have a sling just like yours for my dog Casey. She sheds much, tho, and the back seat still gets covered in hair. I love the safety of the sling.
Soos, I agree completely with your assessment of our law system. I am happy I can complain to my hearts content!!!
Here in San Diego our Mayor is under fire. I have an opinion on that, which I will not voice here, only to say It is an embarrassment! lyn

Sitting in D&D Truck Wash and Lube getting oil change and wash. All the dealers were too busy but this place specializes in big trucks and RVs. Getting wash also. Hard for short me to wash 12 foot vehicle

Nice cool day and heading to Custer State Park. Looking forward for several days of relaxing in scenic Black Hills!!!

I am really really tired of all the "news" coverage of Zimmerman. So much more that is important in our country but media is too lazy to report on the hard stuff so we get this sensationalism.

Addendum: The radio news guy just said that this trial was very important to every single American! I suspect most people was down the list below the economy, our families, health care, crime, privacy, etc. etc. They keep trying to make us believe it is so important so we will listen to their endless reporting, but it will remain "important" only until the next "big story."

Hi everyone!

As usual, I am late again. Kathleen, I hope you find relief from your pain. Went to see our financial guy this morning and it looks like we are still in the black, so taking early retirement has been a blessing in disguise. I wouldn't miss meeting all of you and going the places we have been for anything in the world. The weather is a little warm, but it sure beats the winter weather we have here, so I can't complain. I started playing the organ for a little country church in the area, which I showed Carolb when she was visiting, so I'm able to work on my brain, finger, foot, eye coordination. After being on a break from playing for so many years, this brings me a lot of enjoyment. Mom started for fifth week of radiation today, tomorrow I will go to spend another night with my parents and see what they would like to to cook for them. As much as I am looking forward to getting away for the winter, I know my parents wish I would stay home. Have a good day everyone.

How did it get to the middle of July already. It seems like it just started. We had a big rain this morning, a little over an inch. There is more rain coming off the gulf. Our high is suppose to be in the low 80's. I'll take that any day. I had to go to town and forgot my cell phone. When I realize I have forgotten my phone I feel half dressed.

Donna, your rose pictures are beautiful. Roses are about the only thing I can grow. I'm having a hard time keeping mine under control. I pruned them in February and a couple of weeks ago I cut them back some again.

There were no winners in the Florida case. The parents lost a child and Zimmerman screwed up his life. The news media just fans the flames when they focus on something like this. There are one or more shootings almost every week within a 50 mile radius of me and they are on the local news only 1 or 2 days. A 2 year old child was shot in a cross fire in New Orleans this morning or last night. Do you think that's going to make the national news?

Good morning/afternoon everyone.

Got back home last night. Great trip! The van did great - feels more like my 'home' than it did before! Sadie was fantastic!! She is a great traveler/companion/friend-maker.

My only problem is taking time to smell the roses... I have always been a destination traveler - going from point A to B & back within a certain time... Home a day early (good thing though as ex didn't realized Sierra was having regular 'accidents'' on the carpet. Had to cut it up & take it outside when I got home last night.) Today, just catching up & cutting up rug small enough to go in trash. Need to look into alternate flooring. There's always something...

Loved my time with Lyn - she knows San Diego like the back of her hand. So much history & beauty! Can't wait to go back & really spend time there.

Kids are getting settled. Couldn't ask for a better location. DD's job is going well. It was tougher than I thought it would be to leave them. Thank goodness for the long drive home - time for tears to dry while seeing this beautiful country!

And thanks for the recommendations for stops on the way home. I did aim for one of the campgrounds that Maggie mentioned but got to the exit so late that I ended up boondocking since I wasn't sure I could find a campsite after dark. Worked out fine though - will try for some of the other places when I have more time.

Well, I've got laundry in & need to finish putting things away.
Next journey - August!
