Sunday back home

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday back home

Postby carolb » Sun Jul 14, 2013 7:38 am

Good morning all :D

Catching up on all I missed--had my first experience with "el crappo" internet service at a cg  , but had a great time in VT with LoW's. Good to see PeggyinCT again, & another Trekker, plus meeting more great ladies (only 2 LoW's men there, who were very tolerant of all our "girl-talk").

Lori, wishing you the best in your "go 'rounds" with your health issues--sounds good so far??? Prayers for you...& Donna, glad to hear you survived that "liquid diet" exam with good news :D

Sounds like y'all have kept busy the past few days. Glad you're home safely, Martha, not to mention a gtg with Sharon...Catherine & Red, I'm jealous of your beach walks! What great times you're having!!!

Bonnie, nice to have another active Morning Coffee person :D Re dogs & cgs, that's the great thing about this forum: you get to hear about many different experiences to get an idea of what to expect ;)

Fun mini gtgs going on! And the big Ruckus coming up soon. Irmi & I were talking that there's been no mention of a FL gtg this winter. Anyone giving it a thought???

Watching the Boilermaker race on tv, decided not to go fight the crowd. Bro & SIL running in the 5K, but the 15K is advertised as the biggest in the country. Many runners wearing "Boston" t-shirts. Looks like a Kenyan or Ethiopian will win--which seems to be usual for this race.

Oops, babbling now! Y'all have a great day & safe travels always! 8-)

Good Sunday Morning to Carol and all... I called Hildi yesterday and Shadow is doing fine... he still sleeps in his kennel... he always slept with me... she is not coming to Normal until October... hopefully by then Shadow will be adjusted to her... I am so thankful for such a good step mom for him... I wish now that I could close my eyes and all this packing, sorting and moving would be over...
I sure enjoyed reading all the posts in Coffee yesterday... it was like all being together and sharing... love all the interaction...
Mitch did you post pictures of the finished project (other than the battle scared hand!)... I cannot keep up with everyone!!
Have my shower finished and now will get dressed to go to church...
Have a great day everyone

good morning ladies
our monsoon season has officially begun, and the weather has been nice. If we get enough rain where it counts the
dust will settle and there won't be any more haboobs. The doctors always see a rise in respiratory illness when we
have those big haboobs. Theres more in that dust than just dirt.
Doing laundry still, had set aside my load of uniform shirts and they never got washed so there ya go, doing laundry
Took a drive out to my rv yesterday, everything looks just as I left it and no storm damage. All the molding strips on the
outside are sliding off though, will have to replace all those with new as age has them shrunk up and not staying put.
Everytime I go out there I get homesick and really want to pull it out of storage and get it set back up. I know I'll do it
all in good time as I need to focus on other things right now.
My car is packed up with stuff for the girl at work, she's suppose to text me her address today and then I'll make a run
over there.
Off to catch up on email and other important things. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Just a reminder there are no rules onwho can plan a GTG. This is for you new guys. Sometimes you put a post up with a tentative area and or time. You usually get suggestions and absolutely no agreement as to what the best time frames might be.....and take that with a smile...

So you do the best you can and the folks that come figure out how to get there. Availability of sites is important some areas fill up so fast and stte parks won't hold sites temporarily like private campgrounds might. Many folks like water and many like reasonable prices

Somebody go for it. Florida 2014!

Good Morning !! Everyone has been so busy! I will never catch up with all of you. Never fails, if I am on every day, not much goes on, let me not get on, and you all do all kinds of stuff :o  Several things Carol mentioned I will have to see if I can find out what she is talking about.

Nothing but rain and more rain here. I did mow, knowing my mower would sink somewhat and leave prints in the yard. I could not let it go longer, snakes are heading for higher ground and I do not want any intruders in my home. A lady here got bitten by a copperhead in her diningroom last week. She is ok, hospital stay for a few days. She got up in the middle of the night because her dogs were barking and having a fit. She didn't turn a light on, so she could see outside and she got bit twice, before realizing the sting she was feeling on each foot was snake striking. Of course, I think of this each night before going to bed. Not to much real rest this week !!

No news, really wishing the rain would ease off at least enough, that lady could come get living room furniture and I have other things I plan to just give her, she is just setting up a home for herself and boy do I have things that need a new home. :D

I also was thinking of the Fl GTG the other day. I look forward to it each year. I don't think its really on the agenda until latter part of summer. Not many think of Fl. in summer time :D and reservations can't be made before fall or thereabouts I think. Now that its been mentioned, do any of you have suggestions for a nice park, that is reasonable and good place for a large gathering, as we had a big crowd last year. Seems to be more each year, which is sooooooo nice.

Must get moving here, day is moving on without me. Have a great day everyone , but most of all stay safe, on the road or weather wise.
CArol :)

Before I posted, I see Tina has already got on the Fl GTG topic. That's how it starts, who ever wants to run with the first suggestions for where, time etc. Go For it, someone !!! I'm not good for last part of Feb or after, as I have to head home for dr. apps. etc. so I'll be first to mention some obstacle to my attending

Lifting my orange juice glass to everyone this morning and yes, it's straight orange juice, no mimosa today. Coffee was at 5am. It's 9.30, front lawn is cut, worked on the dirt mound in the yard a little, that will take a little time to spread, I'm amazed at how much dirt they dug up for the trailer landing pad. Have some friends coming over later, so it might be nice if I cleaned the house before they get here and stop looking at things I want to get for the trailer lol

Everyone have a great Sunday !

Good Morning All, So many interesting posts here. I worried about Catherine in that Haboob. Hope she wasn't caught in it. The TV had pictures of it over Phoenix and it looked horrible. Yes, I can understand why respiratory problems would rise during that time. We are having the same ole same ole around here weather wise. The swim pool is crowded each afternoon with all the youngsters (to me anyway) out working on their skin cancers. As I was raised at the beach, I have had skin cancers on my legs! All my friends got them on their hands and face! Thanks for all the details of your lives. I support and hug each one of you. lyn

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Orion seems to be a bit better today, although he now has runny bowels (can't spell the "D" word) so I guess we now know what ailed him yesterday. Good to know the cause of the fever, and that he is better and eating a bit. My job for today will be to play with him in the wading pool while his parents clear out the shelter so I can get to my trailer and the rest of the Ruckus stuff in there. It is very warm and humid, so I am putting the pool in the screened shelter to keep him out of the sun. He will want to go over to where his parents are, I am sure, but, we shall see.

Was happy the jury reached a verdict last night in the Sanford, FL trial. I learned a great deal about our justice system by watching that trial, and I'm hoping others did also. Many are happy with the not guilty verdict, and many others aren't. But it is what it is. And that is why we have this court and jury system in this country. I was fascinated by the antics of the lawyers on both sides, and loved seeing the control the judge had in keeping things legal and on target. I have always managed to avoid jury duty one way or another, and now I sort of wish I had done it.

Off I go to finish my ham and cheese omelet and coffee, and then to the chores of the day. Hope you all are having a decent weather day wherever you may be.

Happy to hear about Shadow, Kath-----good to know he is loved and is getting attention.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning! Apparently I am the only one on the forum who is welcoming a rainy day! It’s been raining since early morning and I braved the showers when I got up and ran out to see how much was in the gauge….it was a half inch at that time and it’s been raining since. This is a million dollar rain for us! Last year at this time it was so dry that the corn was already being cut into silage because it was beyond hope for a grain crop. We only were able to get one cutting of hay and this year they will get at least three and possibly four. Nan and Tina, I don’t think you would believe the difference in the country from last year! I even have a green lawn!

Will have to catch up with all the posts since I haven’t been on here much in the last two weeks. Our 4th of July camping marathon was fun. We missed several couples who couldn’t make it this year. Several of us were quite ecstatic that one individual didn’t make an appearance….that statement will make sense to those of you who remember my concerns before we left!

Well I’d better try to get something accomplished which will be difficult because rainy days make me lazy. It appears that I’m going to have to drop-kick Radar out the patio door to get her to do her morning business. She thinks she’ll melt if she gets wet. Have a good week!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I was happy to have rain yesterday and hope to get more today. We are in the swath of the country that has been dry with high temperatures.

I would love to attend the FL GTG depending on when it is.

I need to attack the pile of laundry today - I don't know why I've been hating doing it lately.

Good Morning Ladies. It's raining here in Northern MN today. I spent a beautiful day on the shores of Lake Superior in Duluth yesterday with my Grandson and Butch. The weather was perfect, warm with a little overcast so the sidewalks and the rocks weren't to hot for Butch. Both of the boys were wore out yesterday and slept all the way home.

I have my favorite camp site reserved for Wednesday and Thursday of this week. They are now saying rain for Wednesday. These sites get taken up so fast you have to reserve them way in advance. I also have four days in August reserved. It won't be long and Fall with be rolling in so I want to get out and enjoy it as much as possible. The Scamp gets covered and put into storage the end of September. Not looking forward to that.

Have a good week everyone! This photo is Canel Park in Duluth MN.

I served on a manslaughter jury once. I was worried at first because I didn't want to be the one to send someone to jail. After the trial started we all thought it was a huge waste of time and money for everyone. The man that died was the town drunk from a small town near here. He had been in 3 bars and 2 fights on the night he died. The police drove him home in his car and left him in his drive way. He died from a subdural hematoma which is a blood clot on the brain probably from hitting his head or being hit on the head. One of the bar owners was being tried for throwing the man out of his bar and the family said the man that died hit his head on a parking lot railing. No one witnessed this. We found out later that the man's family had a civil suit against the bar owner and guess they had enough pull to get the parish to file a criminal suit. They probably thought a conviction would help with their suit.

It isn't right but people are judged by how they dress. Parents need to remember this and try to explain it to their kids. I was at a flea market with my son when he was about 12. He wanted to buy a t-shirt with a Confederate flag on it. I wouldn't let him get one. You are just asking for trouble wearing something like that. Don't let your kids wander around at night with a hoodie on when every week there are pictures on TV of crooks dressed like that holding up convenience stores. Probably the best thing that happened to my son was getting mugged walking from a bar at night. He could well have been killed but now he watches where he goes. Worked a lot better than all my warnings.

Pat, glad you are getting much needed rain. As much rain as we have received I think I probably need to water my roses if it doesn't rain today. Doesn't take long to get dry when it's in the 90's everyday.

It was good to sleep in a real bed last night. My motorhome has 2 electric sofas that make beds and they are not comfortable. I have memory foam pads for them but they are hard to sleep on for a week. Time to put the last load of laundry in the dryer. Need to clean out the refrigerator because my motorhome needs to be serviced.

Since the subject of jury duty has come up, I guess I'll say what I think. When my son was murdered and it went to trial, it took 2 weeks to get a jury because everyone made up excuses on why they couldn't serve. What a waste of the state's money to take 2 weeks to find 12 people and a couple alternates. I feel it's everyone's duty to serve on jury duty without making excuses so they don't have to. We all live in this society and we should take our turn when asked.

Sorry, I guess personal experience changes one's viewpoint.
