I'm adding a post to the Books section - very interesting book and full of Italian recipes. I made one of the breads for dinner last night. Delicious.
Been doing a lot of work around the house - still have some left to do. Relocated eight raccoons - hope that was the last of them as we replaced all the carpet they tore up and put in Plexiglas instead of screen on the porch.
Enjoy the days of summer whether your at home or on the road. The Alfa is still at the RV doc but supposed to be ready for pick up next week. Hope they got everything fixed this time.

Please don't send those coons have, have more than enough, but what's worst is the armadillos that tear up my yard every winter. They have a little surprise, the area they normally destroy is where the trailer's pad going. I'm going to have to check out that post. For one that is not Italian, I love the food.

There's a big country out there waiting for you to explore and a lot of people waiting to meet you.

Why, thank you, Sue! I was kinda proud of myself, even though that 1 hour job took 3 days (George would have most likely made the 1 hour mark, but dang it - he left me!!) However, it was an incredible learning experience. I have found in the last 20 months that I can do more "manly" stuff than I ever dreamed. Thank goodness for the internet! (As an aside, the doctor that killed George send me a bill on Thursday - $7.25. Like he'll ever see a penny of that...)

Possible camping trip with my BFF in September or October. Nothing written in stone - I just would prefer to avoid miniature humans and REALLY hot weather. Our kids go back to school August 6. Isn't that something? We didn't go back until after Labor Day.

So, until then, I'll just hang around the Blue Marlin and beat the dog.

Believe it or not, I am off to a parade this morning. I am in Wall, SD, and this weekend happens to be their homecoming for the town, so there is a rodeo and parade. Last night I could hear some sort of band last.

Then I will visit a town museum and maybe have something to eat. By then it will be hot and I will come back to my AC and maybe do a couple of loads of laundry here at the campground.

I really enjoyed the Badlands yesterday, but it is still hot here and this is a rest day. Tomorrow will head to Rapid City and do some shopping. The refrigerator is getting empty although I have lots of meal packages in the freezer to heat up. I am going to Custer State park for a week, so will need to be stocked up. Also found a place to get an oil change and get my tire pressure checked in Rapid City so that is on my schedule for Monday morning.

Have a good day, all.

Mitch, I'm huge impressed that you do the technical stuff yourself. You give me confidence that someday I'll do it, too. Who cares if it takes us longer the first few jobs? We get 'er done and that's all that matters. You're amazing.

Judy I saw that Rapid City was having temperatures almost as hot as here in TX - looks like there is a swath right through the middle of the country with 90+ temps.

Due to said temps, I'm only doing inside stuff today - laundry and such. I need to work on my pics from MI and also would like to go get a pedicure.

Okay, better get my butt in gear and get the beans going....

Maggie, yesterday it was predicted that Rapid City would be 90. Wall is 93 supposedly today, but the Badlands were supposed to be 102. I never knew I would think 90 and 93 would be considered "cool."

My AC only cools down about 20 degrees, so that makes a big difference. Forecast for tomorrow at Rapid City is 78 with rain, which is fine with me. I am used to rain lasting all day or several days in Michigan, but around here it rains and then stops. Luckily it seems to be cooling off all around here. Custer state park will be nice and cool, as will even Yellowstone.

Mitch I am with you, I like to go camping when all the "unfinished humans" are back in school. I find parents just don't teach their kids campground etiquette. If my kids were loud or cutting thru others campsites they were banished to the tent or camper for a while. I never took their bikes with us either. They could ride at home, they can hike when camping LOL

I made it home this afternoon. Whew, what a trip. There is no leisurely trip with my son. I feel like I'm on a runaway horse headed for the barn. It wasn't as hot as it could have been in Florida. There was some rain almost everyday. I never did make it to the hot tub at the campground. About the time in the evening that I would want to go was when the thunderstorms would roll in.

I wasn't happy that I missed the Lafayette GTG but got to visit with Sharon and Karen last night. Would like to follow them but we only get my grandson for 6 weeks so will be hanging around here this summer.

Back to unloading and washing.

After a gorgeous day yesterday, we had a nasty thunderstorm overnight. Tons of lightning and thunder crashing constantly, with a deluge of rain, over 4 inches here. It was fun to listen to tho! (I heard my cat, Lola, under the bed mewing like a kitten, tho).

Cloudy and sprinkles today. Very quiet at work too, for a Saturday.

Hope those of you in the southeast aren't drowning yet. Heard you all got a ton of rain over the past couple days with lots of flooding. And Ava got a Haboob today too!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
